    I’ve lived in Dubai and it’s fantastic. Generally I am a person who respects the laws of the country that I visit or live in so I didn’t find the Laws of Dubai any challenging. I would recommend Dubai to anyone 👍🏽

    Some of the best tips on how to conduct yourself when in Dubai! It is easy to fall in love with Dubai. I went twice last year and will be back this year. I am even considering moving there and setting up business but I would need somewhere to go during the crazy hot summers 🙂

    Even if you don't smoke weed in uae/Dubai but smoked before you arrived in Dubai and after reaching Dubai and go to medical tests for any need and if they find out anything in your system you will be arrested even though let's say you smoked it in California before flew to Dubai it's really weird law but last year it happened to an American.

    • @WealthyExpat
      @WealthyExpat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I had a client recently who smokes a ton in Netherlands and did the medical in Dubai with no issues, maybe it was a few years ago or the quantity was super high in the blood test

    in terms of not wearing shorts to government offices. Is not only Dubai or about Islam, I'm living in Thailand and it's same here, when you are going to government office (e. g immigration) they require you to cover up as well.

    9:31 that hotel/residence is a private property, so do as you please according to their own rules. Actually... just few days ago I decided that's where I'll get my first apartment. Really like the 3-4br condos with pool on big terrace/balcony. The villas are awesome too but I prefer the views from the condos.

    7:12 i dont see the big deal. Alcohol should be consumed in private and designated areas is my belief and that is how it is in Dubai. I do not understand why anyone would want to dress certain way in public, that's stupid. The saying, do as the Romans do is true in every word. You go to Dubai/UAE, you do as they do... SIMPLE. YOU are "invading" THEIR space.

    Can you make friends with the locals as a westerner or do they like to keep to themselves? You did say they’re more reserved, so I’m inclined to think not so much.

    • @ReyReyzzz
      @ReyReyzzz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey, a UAE local here. The younger generation of UAE locals are a lot more open with westerners than the older generation, so don’t expect to make conversations with some elderly emiratis (not saying that its impossible of course, more than often its simply because of a language barrier)

  • @Larzh220469
    @Larzh220469 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Dubai is one thing... but aren't laws and practices very different from emirate to emirate in the UAE? I mean, it's no secret that Sharjah is a very conservative place. As concerns alcohol, I remember that Umm-al-Quwain was the only emirate where you could buy it in a shop, "off licence" as the British say. But I haven't been to the UAE for ten years, so things may have changed.

    • @xxxs8309
      @xxxs8309 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In Abudhabi you can buy without licence even Dubai nowadays

  • @anwerabdallah569
    @anwerabdallah569 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    alcohol is avaliable in dubai and there is some bars in the uae. but you are not allowed to drive when you are drunk. and you cant drink in public you can drink at home or in bars or discos. if you are a Christian you can buy alcohol from special stores and you have to have a permit that says that you are not a muslim. you can buy whatever you want.

I'm planning to move to Dubai, I'll have my residency cause my husband, but I would continue working remote to a company in Europe and I need to use VPN and make video calls with them. Do you think that will be a problem?
