Hi, I understand your move. I’m expat 10y+. I spent one year in Dubai over the past 7 years. The main pros are network, safety and taxes. Cons are pollution, dating and the short term and sometime fake friendship that you have there. Dubai is a much better choice than most of western countries in my opinion. Now I’m living in Thailand Bangkok. It’s not perfect but match what I’m looking for and accepting as a downside. Happy to see you growing men
I'm so happy for you! You are, as you said, in very fortunate position but you worked hard for that. Keep creating amazing content here and take care of yourself.
As a 38-year-old dude I think your logic is bang-on - I would totally flex that freedom. By your late thirties pressures like, 'Should I have a family now?' start to creep up.
Good for you Oliur! I'm really happy for you. A lot of us are following right behind you! Let us know how you get on and your lifestyle; accommodation, things to do and night life).
Good for you! Best time to move while you fit and healthy. I've done the same. Now resident of Australia for the past 4 years. Have fun in your new adventure.
Congratulations Oliur! I hope it all goes smooth and you're happy! 👏🏽 (I discovered your main channel, UltraLinx, in 2017, with your house tour video, though it's not on your channel anymore :(, it's great seeing you and your businesses grow, year after year. You're an inspiration! All the best!)
Think twice if you hate the heat. I have been working in Saudi Arabia for 3 years. I quite because of the heat. Imagine when you get out of the house and feel like you’re walking in the flames. You have been warned.
Awesome choice Oliur. Just did the same recently and no regrets at all, absolutely loving it here. Such an inspiring place to live. No taxes is the cherry on top 😉 Cheers 👋
Welcome 🇦🇪 Note: If you earn over 3m AED revenue you are liable for 9% corporate tax - if you were told that you can avoid this with a freezone company this is 100% false
I lived in Dubai for a bit. Couldn't stand it for any longer than a few months. The heat, tik tokkers, instagrammers and general in your face ostentatiousness is a joke If your into that kind of thing you might enjoy it but I'm the opposite
Super excited and happy for you Oliur! Followed you for years and this is gonna be an amazing next stage in your life. I was the same person who no one thought would ever move country but I did and it was the best experience in my life and would do it all over again. So I’m thrilled for you about hearing this.
exciting and wish you all the best in the new adventure! I moved to the UK 12 yrs ago as a student and been working in London for 8 yrs now, it was nice in the beginning but now it is true that the future is not that bright. I'm nowhere near the 45% tax bracket but still, income tax+NI+council tax are heavy, considering the service we get in return. NHS is such a broken system, gov is a joke, councils have declared bankruptcy, inflation rockets to 40 yrs high. I am considering to move to another country and saw this vid pops up, I argee with your reasons and logic completely, maybe Dubai is the place.
Your tenacity and mindset battling stage 3 cancer and your trajectory in your career is inspirational to say the least💯💫🧠🙌🏾! You're making the right decision. I have family in Dubai and of course have 0 tax 🎉. I love Dubai myself as I have visited and feel safer there than in the UK and it's so nice and CLEAN😂❤! I'm taking it you're registered as self employed rather than as a Ltd company? I will definitely be moving to Dubai myself once my company grows! I wish you all the best 💯💫
Congratulations on your move. As a southern Californian (Orange County), I agree that San Diego is an amazing area. Oceanside and Carlsbad are beautiful communities.
So Dubai for foreigners is a collection of millionaire foreigners. Other millionaires who moved to Dubai talk about how great the tax breaks are, so it really does help the super wealthy stay wealthy. The native population is not so well off.
I wish you all the best, but I have to say that leaving a country because of taxes always feels a bit wrong to me as those taxes are there to keep everything running and (depending on the country) support each other. But maybe I am old school
Best of luck to Oliur with the move, but I agree the tax being a primary motivation is a little sad though. It's tax money that helped him and others who can't afford private care through life-threatening illnesses, so it does feel like a bit of a 'pull the ladder up' mentality. Dubai can also afford this luxuries of low tax predominantly because of the abuse of migrant workers. Also healthcare - the UK has significantly better cancer survival rates and a better average life expectancy than the UAE by a few years. Dubai just has very good PR on this front.
I feel you, but those rates are outrageous. Once he leaves, others will keep paying, and the system will not flinch. The UK still attracts talent from around the world to come slave away and pay massive taxes, so the UK is fine. Personally, I would leave temporarily if it’ll save me tens to hundreds of thousands per year.
Depends on if you agree with how your taxes are being spent, another way to vote with your money. If you think your country is not using the taxes as you think they should then go somewhere that you agree with. No one should be bound to a place they were born due to some kind of obligation to a government or country.
The nhs is bad here, unless you have very simple illness to cure, most gp’s have no clue what to do. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and the go basically ignored it for months diminishing my symptoms, until it got serious into Graves’ disease. The doctor didn’t make any food intolerance test, and despite me asking he ignored my request. Extremely bad service, be careful using the NHS advice, especially in super crowded areas of London, malpractice is very common.
Good for you - been following you since your Tumblr days (yeah dude!) and I am stoked for you. Also, about the alcohol comment: I am very happy to see someone else saying it. All the best.
Your first trip was San Diego! I lived there for three years from 2007 - 2010. I lived and worked in Carlsbad and Del Mar! I loved it too! Loved Encinitas as well. I was working in video games. Most of us lost our jobs due to the crash but I had a great time there! Good luck in Dubai. You will smash it wherever you are.
Best of luck man! I’ll be spending several months in London this year and planned on reaching out to meet up, but excited for you and this next stage in life 🙌🏼
Oliur, welcome to the UAE! A great mind like yours is always a welcome addition to my home! I hope you find our culture to be great hosts of this new chapter of your life!
Just do like Mike Thurston and leave Dubai for 2-3 months during the Summer, travel around and do videos on that which you could probably expense to your business.
Good Luck! I’m in a similar situation as an IT professional in the UK but probably a little younger than you. Also considering moving out of the UK in a few years once I’ve established myself a little more here.
Congrats on the fantastic choice! Dubai is my favorite holiday vacation spot. I was considering 2x to move there for a job but I have realized that truly to enjoy life there, you need to be self-employed.
Good luck with the move. Looking forward to seeing a new studio with a skyline view! What will you do with your house in the UK? Rent, sell or leave empty?
Best of luck on your next journey! Japan is undoubtedly one of the top destinations, and it's my personal favorite to visit. For beautiful beaches and friendly locals, I highly suggest exploring the Philippines! :)
Congrats, decision makes totally sense. But as you said, the heat gets unbearable in the summer, it's wild. Will be interesting if you can adjust to that. Some people that moved there did!
You haven't thought about the employer NI in your tax calculation at 9:30. So the number is much higher effectively... So UAE is a better idea than you think. :-) Good luck - on your journey.
Oliur, your brilliance continues to radiate as you consistently create exceptional content on TH-cam. Congratulations on your remarkable work, and keep up the fantastic job, my friend.
So happy for you man. I used to live in Dubai. And then moved to Germany. Worst decision ever. I am moving back to Dubai. This was the worst 2 years of my life. Seeing this is so re-assuring that I am not the only one who thinks Dubai is a no nonsense place and super efficient in everything
Good luck with your move to Dubai - I didn't know about your cancer history - happy to see you healthy. Can we have a collaboration once you are in Dubai?
great news, congratulations, i escape the Australian heat by going to switzerland , that would be a great country for you to visit during Dubai heat and only a short hop for you, super safe country, great people and amazing scenery
Good move! We will be lucky to have you here. Make sure you have a summer escape, because it gets crazy hot. I’ve been (mostly) in Dubai since 2007, and generally found it a great place especially for young families. I’ve lived in 10 countries since birth, and there is no perfect place. It just depends what tradeoffs you are willing to make at different stages of your life. I currently split my time across 3-4 homes in different countries, but overall UAE is the best. Your analysis on the pros of Dubai are spot on. Let’s meet up for a chai!
I've followed you on X for some time and seeing that you've already made the move, what you mentioned near the end of the video "single, no children, etc", I'm in the same boat besides having a heart arrhythmia which does put a damper on things, however your words give me such a massive dose of inspiration as a reality check - young and no big familial responsibilities, nothing is stopping you - and I deeply appreciate your content, respect from the U.S. 🙏
wooo exciting!!!
ur next buddy :)
😂❤@@zohaibkhan9708
You're following him!!
England is done. Turning into a sh!t hole. Oliur was being polite. Dubai just makes sense right now
He came to my hometown lol
Good luck! We just made the move to the UAE last month - agree with all your points re: tax and safety.

All the best man, might have to join you soon lol
We're all heading that way. England is done.
Yes we’re heading to Abu Dhabi in the next 2 years. UK is over. Sorry 🤷
You both would fit right in.
Same not Dubai but just out of England to try something new
Good for you Oliur!
Congrats bro 👏 a big move. Glad to hear you’re in full health, too.
Congratulations Oliur! I hope it all goes smooth and you're happy! 👏🏽

Just made the move from London! You're gonna love it
Think twice if you hate the heat. I have been working in Saudi Arabia for 3 years. I quite because of the heat. Imagine when you get out of the house and feel like you’re walking in the flames. You have been warned.
Dubai is great but it is a very warm place for many months of the year.
Glad you’re healthy again! Good luck in Dubai take care.
Awesome choice Oliur. Just did the same recently and no regrets at all, absolutely loving it here. Such an inspiring place to live. No taxes is the cherry on top 😉 Cheers 👋
exciting stuff! good luck on the move - I will come and visit!!
I'm moving to Dubai next year from the UK. So excited.
Good luck!!! Keep us updated! A moving vlog would be great to see :-)
Good luck with you're new adventure! looking forward to the Dubai content!
Welcome 🇦🇪 Note: If you earn over 3m AED revenue you are liable for 9% corporate tax - if you were told that you can avoid this with a freezone company this is 100% false
This Video randomly popped up on my feed. Watched till the last min. Good luck man!
You're welcome to Dubai Brother! Happy to have you here!
🚀 🚀 🚀
You look so happy mate! This is good, I too am planning on moving there. Counting down the months till then. Thanks for the link 👍🏽
I lived in Dubai for a bit.
Couldn't stand it for any longer than a few months. The heat, tik tokkers, instagrammers and general in your face ostentatiousness is a joke
If your into that kind of thing you might enjoy it but I'm the opposite
As someone who lives in San Diego and been here for 4 years, I agree. It is very chill - great place to end up but not as "hustle" as other cities.
So fk*** interesting that I ate the whole video without skipping any second of it. Best of luck with your new adventure man 💪🏼
Can’t wait to see the results after a year.
Pumped for you Australia trip, you’ll love it here! Beside the zero taxes, we have basically everything else you spoke about here
You are spot on... UK and London especially, is so taxing now financially and socially that it's time to move away.
Born and raised in Dubai and honestly one of the best experience in my life... seen and learnt alot
Thrilled to see you be able to start a new chapter in your life! Cheers, mate
Super excited and happy for you Oliur! Followed you for years and this is gonna be an amazing next stage in your life. This guy had cancer and recovered, woww
So Dubai for foreigners is a collection of millionaire foreigners. Other millionaires who moved to Dubai talk about how great the tax breaks are, so it really does help the super wealthy stay wealthy. The native population is not so well off.
You love to see cost of living in Dubai videos in the future!
Wishing you all the best in Dubai mate. Upwards and onwards! Keep inspiring
I wish you good luck in implementing your plans - it would be nice if you could show us your vlogs from your travels or life in Dubai.
Oliur, I just did the same, moved to Dubai last weeks. Would love to have a coffee one day! Best :)
Welcome to Dubai! Moved back myself last year after 12 months away. It’s not perfect, but for the moment it’s the right place to be…
Congratulations Oliur!
I wish you all the best, but I have to say that leaving a country because of taxes always feels a bit wrong to me as those taxes are there to keep everything running and (depending on the country) support each other. But maybe I am old school

Keep everything running? Are we talking about the same UK?
@@thenullco I am not from the UK, I don't know those details, I was generally speaking.

Congrats, super excited for you!
Keep doing your thing man! Congratulations!

I love my family too much, I too want that Porsche 930 but family comes first.
Good luck!

Doesn’t really matter where you go. It’s not like you’re stuck there forever. If things go sideways you are too young to try elsewhere.
San Diego Resident here, come back any time you want! Best of luck on your next adventure!
Just from the title I knew you would be moving to Dubai. Welcome to this part of the world, so great to have you.
So happy for you, your growth has been incredible to witness

Going myself next year. I can't wait. Enjoy!
Love the fact you’re making the most of your freedom - when you visit Sydney I’d be happy to show you around mate!
Congrats on the fantastic choice! Dubai is my favorite holiday vacation spot. I was considering 2x to move there for a job but I have realized that truly to enjoy life there, you need to be self-employed.
That's fantastic, good for you Oliur! That actually something I will look into now that you mentioned it.
Looking forward to seeing your new setups😄 and congratulations man.
Good luck with the move. Looking forward to seeing a new studio with a skyline view! What will you do with your house in the UK? Rent, sell or leave empty?
Sounds like a plan. Good luck! I will look out for you in the next season of Dubai Bling!
You teach me something here. Thank you, man.
Insha'Allah it goes well
Best of luck on your next journey! Japan is undoubtedly one of the top destinations, and it's my personal favorite to visit. For beautiful beaches and friendly locals, I highly suggest exploring the Philippines! :)
Would definitely love to see a travel channel, documenting your ventures!! But good luck with your move! x
This is tempting as a business man in australia with a family..
Congrats, decision makes totally sense. But as you said, the heat gets unbearable in the summer, it's wild. Will be interesting if you can adjust to that. Some people that moved there did!
9:35 Dont forget employers national insurance. Another 13% on top. You almost hit 60%
You’re not picky or a wuss, you like what you like. It makes you who you are, even if it’s not a “problem” to other people.
Embrace who you are
You haven't thought about the employer NI in your tax calculation at 9:30.
So the number is much higher effectively... So UAE is a better idea than you think. :-)
Good luck - on your journey.
Congrats. I’m with you bro, I HATE the summer heat. I don’t like the to hot to cold also.
Good luck mate, hope all goes well..
Oliur, your brilliance continues to radiate as you consistently create exceptional content on TH-cam. Congratulations on your remarkable work, and keep up the fantastic job, my friend.
Life is way too short not to go and experience the world. Sounds incredible and I saw the food scene in Dubai and looks incredible.
Good luck. I had the opportunity to work and live in Dubai a few years ago. From April onwards the heat could take some time adjusting to.
Good luck with your move to Dubai - I didn't know about your cancer history - happy to see you healthy.
Can we have a collaboration once you are in Dubai?
That would be awesome Wali bhai :) .. would love to see you interview Oliur
Did not know you had cancer, well done on the jump back bro, may you have a healthy life!
great news, congratulations, i escape the Australian heat by going to switzerland , that would be a great country for you to visit during Dubai heat and only a short hop for you, super safe country, great people and amazing scenery
Straight up goals man’
So much inspiration
Don’t go to Japan in the summer. Heat is killer. What about the house and car ????
As a person from Dubai, you were correct with most/all of the things, especially the fact that it can get really hot here at times
👏🏽 Look forward to seeing videos from Dubai.
Welcome to The Gulf.
Defo a good move!
Welcome to Australia. It’s one of the best place for living as well as for investing. But you do end up paying loads of taxes here too!
Best of luck with the move Oliur
awesome! Origionally from UK but I've lived in Dubai for 13 years now love it! :D

It’s a real shame that the UK is going through a brain drain. So many talented people like yourself are taking the same course of action.
Great! All the best for your future. You‘re a great inspiration for a independent lifestyle. Looking forward to you content 💯🚀
Wish you all the best mate! only the beginning for you.
