As a marathoner myself, when I listen to successful people using the analogy of the marathon vs. sprint, I 100% agree with them when they say that’s you’ll burn out if you start too fast but I’ve tried to look at the flip side, from my experience running multiple marathons: if you start too slow at the start, it is very unlikely that you’ll recover at the end, fatigue kicks in at 30-32kms no matter what and I believe it’s the same with your career. What I gather from such advise is that you need to come up with a race plan, focus on what needs to be done in the short term but never lose sight of the race as a whole.

It doesn't mean putting long hours n getting stressed....It means increasing our efficiency of work which in turn will reduce the no of working hrs....

Less than 1% traders make a living out of trading and they became billionaires with their skill set. So where is luck involved? It’s all grind and hustle. More they did luckier they became.

Not how it works. They show a persona that is fit politically but there's the other side. Interviews and the social persona of anyone does not indicate their character. The motivation you need is within yourelf. If he talks about hardwork being overrated, he is ignoring the fact that his success has come from working overtime many days and if you dont do it, then it will not happen. Your priorities matter. Its just contradictory what he says and you see them making up stuff as they talk.

Ofcourse working hard is important part of success.
But working hard is short lived humans tend to get burned out and cannot consistently do it.
A practical approach hence is working consistently ( like running a marathon and not sprint).
Consistently working is more important (like 20 -30 years) than how hard you can work in your 20s...

Hahaha. Bunch of fools getting triggered at an honest comment. The hardest workers are slogging in the lowest paying & hard laborious jobs. Nerds sitting in their ac offices & doing rote jobs questioning a brilliant successful man. Go & read Jeff Bezo’s article where he has explicitly stated that his top executives have only one task & that is to take one critical strategic decision each day. I’ve always observed that people who are shameless liars will often contribute their success solely to hard work. Hard work is over rated yes but only when it is the only attribute one can demonstrate on the journey to success. Nobody & I mean nobody can work hard daily. & not be burnt out. As Nikhil said it’s a marathon & not a sprint.

Comments me jo hardwork ke naam pe sympathy lere hai, bhai simple sa fact hai insaan gadhe se majdoori karwata hai aur iss liye nhi karwata ki gadha majdoori ke liye bana hai bss gadhe ka mind control karna easy hai. Kabhi socha hai sher se baag se kyu nhi karwate majdoori jabki wo gadhe se 10× stronger hai but isiliye nhi karwate because sher ka mindset koi manipulate nhi kar sakta isiliye uska istamal nahi karte insaan majdoori ke liye. Mostly saare successful log hardwork karne bolte hai because agar tum sab smart work seekh gye toh unke liye hardwork kaun karega? Abhi bhokna band karo ki hardwork se hee sab hota hai iski toh kismat chal gyi and all

Bullshit advise. Easy to say this when you've achieved what you wanted to achieve. Getting there for most people is a brutal journey because they're not the only one in the race. Yes, it requires luck, being smart and calculated, but perseverance and grind, are, and always will be the biggest factors determining success.
Lets say you and me both have exactly the same skillset. You work 6 hours/day (5 days/week), I work 12 hours/day (7 days/week). By year 5, you would have a collective experience of 7,200 hours and I would have spent 20,160 hours mastering my craft.
Not saying anyone should be working 12 hours/day but should you choose to do so, you would be light years ahead of everyone else. There are ways to work that much while maintaining a good healthy lifestyle.
Side note: Don't put that many hours working for someone else.
