Belt Knife by Winkler Knives: Most hesitant purchase - 윙클러 벨트 나이프 리뷰 [자막지원]

  • This Winkler took me almost a year to order because of these reasons:
    1. I was unsure if I will frequent a tactical knife (Korea is rather safe)
    2. I hate to see coated blade finish get scraped off for aesthetic reasons
    3. I knew I wanted the Sculpted Maple handle, but no guarantees for the shape/fit since they are hand-sculpted with imperfections
    It turns out there is nothing to be hesitant about. It is a true user's knife for multiple usage including various outdoor activities. My rating for this knife is: 8.9/10

    I have had a WINKLER belt knife for years, and I absolutely love it. It is black, but I really like that sculpted wood! I EDC mine , and use it a lot. I got it because my friend is a NAVY SEAL and that is what he carried while on active duty. AWESOME just an AWESOME blade, and so is the sheath ! Thank you WINKLER knives!!! They get scary sharp also!

    Last week I received my WINKLER UTILITY CRUSHER with sculpted maple, and that sculpted maple is an AWESOME grip! I like this better than my WINKLER belt knife. It was kind of expensive, but worth every penny. My favorite blade!! And sharp thanks to WORKSHARP
    Have a great day!!

      @@DaveLeeKnives I recently got the Belt Knife with the sculpted G10 camo grips - these grips are simply outstanding! The sculpted maple are nice, but I would suggest that buyers give the sculpted G10 a look, too. I like the G10's waterproof/weather proof aspect. I suppose the sculpted maple grips could be made near waterproof with the application of multiple treatments of Wicked Wax, though.

    The coating is an oxidation, so when the knife scratches it'll eventually return to a dark color. It eventually fades away but it will hide and blend most wear. The only think that will forever mark the knife is if it's mirror polished for whatever reason.

      @@DaveLeeKnives They're made to be used hard. Sure, those polished and Damascus blades are best left on display, but these Winklers are made to be sunk into flesh and rammed through wood.

    It's a common knifemaker's marketing trick, to advertise their knives as they where officialy issued to the US Army, or any other "Army" just to sell more. There is no knife in existance, that was really 100% issued, to any army. They only knife, that's the closest to that, is the classic Ka-Bar combat knife and the shorter Ka-Bar USN Mark1. The modern knives, that claim anyithing similar to that, it's all just marketing guys. Most soldiers curry Leathermans and (or) Swiss Army knives and that's how things are in reallity.

    • @andrewe4891
      @andrewe4891 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Winkler has never suggested his tools are "issued" to anyone. NSW team members have written NYT Bestsellers about their extensive use of his tools ... and he has affirmed he works with team members occasionally to outfit them with mission specific tools. End of story. Most soldiers carry what they can afford ... and most cant afford his tools.

      We got issued lots of knives. Benchmade fixed blade, a switchblade, Gerber folder. Never once a Ka-Bar. I bought a Ka-Bar and the pommel broke in a couple weeks and the grip kept sliding off. It’s still in Iraq somewhere. Still have and use the others though.

    • @greekveteran2715
      @greekveteran2715 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@StabEDealin I don't know of any issued benchmade or switchblade and Iv'e served in 2 different armies in my life. As for the Ka-Bar, If you didn't use a 4lb hammer to break it, you have to tell us how on Earth you broke that. (Except if it wasn't an original Ka-Bar, where I don't care how it broke)

    • @StabEDealin
      @StabEDealin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@greekveteran2715 Maybe our definitions of “issued” aren’t the same. I consider unit purchases issued. The only M- designation knife I ever got was the M9 bayonet.
      But I’m not crapping on KaBar, they wouldn’t still be around if that was the norm, I just had a bad experience. As to how it broke…well we were a bunch of bored kids throwing our knives into a door. I walk up to pull mine out and the grip pulled off the tang and I found the pommel cap in two pieces. So chalk it up to abuse?
