    Welcome to Our French Chateau!
We are Amanda and Lincoln. With our two daughters and pets in tow, we moved across the world from our home in San Francisco California to buy and restore a petite chateau on 40 acres in the beautiful French countryside of Brittany.
Our channel documents our triumphs and failures in restoring the 19th-century Chateau de Lingourdy. We plan to return the gardens, cottages and barns to their former glory (on a tight budget) and open them up for events and luxurious stays to the public. So if you're interested in observing daily life through the eyes of an American family whose French language skills are quite lacking and who have amassed a menagerie that includes cats, dogs, and donkeys. Please join us...

Help us humanely trap the feral cats on our property. We will have them spayed and neutered to control the out-of-control cat population. Any donations are appreciated! gofund.me/920eb2a6

we have the same problem with cats … all started with one cat which adopted us … and at one point, we found ourselves feeding 11 cats … because the first ones delivered many kittens at our place or delivered at some place and brought them to us one by one … we sterilised only 2 at our expenses … at the moment, we have 7 cats … 5 males, 2 females (mother & daughter, mothers of all the others). None of them are inside our home, they stay in one of our buildings with a cat door and baskets, cushions etc and food … we feed all of them morning and evening … anyway, we love animals, but our cat budget became very high, I must say … So, we stopped sterilising … But, we are anxious waiting at any moment to have more kittens … We don’t know what to do either … In the closest city to us, the Mairie sterilised the ones which are in the city, but we are in the middle of nowhere, in Côtes d’Armor/Bretagne … not easy, when kittens are born in your buildings or brought to you by « your cats » how not to take care of them ? they are soo cute …

Great to see you back Lincoln and glad that there was nothing majorly wrong....👍. It is wonderful that you have set up this gofundme for the animals as countries should be more proactive in doing this. I have seen a number of tv shows from the US, showing vets going around to communities with a "Vet Bus" neutering/spading dogs and cats for free. (Alaska and somewhere in California). I also saw a show from Jerusalem, Israel doing the same.

We had a similar problem with feral cats as we live next to a farm. In the UK there is a charity called cat protection league who will provide cages to catch the cats and will neuter them and mark their ear to identify they are neutered. They will also try to rehome them, attempting to socialise them, if that isn't possible rehome in a safe environment. Worth checking if there is a similar charity in France as they have arrangements with local vets. We currently have 2 feral who are soppy pets and one who is neutered and registered to us but refused to be socialised so lives outdoors but hangs around the garden and cries to be fed. We managed to rehome 3 litters before we managed to catch her, also with the help of the charity managed to rehome the father of our indoor tabby and the outdoor cat and our neighbours have all adopted feral kittens and have trapped others and had them speed thanks to this charity. We donate to the charity to help continue their work. Will make a donation, hope your appeal is successful or that you can find a similar charity.

Amanda, I was a licensed Spay Neuter Feral Trapper in Atlanta. But, I did not have to pay! Just the work of trapping. I did 47 cats, four or five at a time. How much does it cost in France. There was. Low Cost Clinic in Atlanta, $25.00. Dog cat whatever. You are so smart to do this!
    DONATED! Bless you!

My Mother started a non-profit in USA to help strays find homes in Mexico. She still helps run it from the States now that she moved back here. It's called Katty Korner. They did a great interview with her on YT with a local San Diego/Mexico reporter. It is very rewarding to help save these cats lives. They sterilize them and vaccinate them and try to find them all homes. It a labor of love for sure! Maybe you could get a vet on board to discount. This is what my mom did. She went around and found a couple of vets to donate their time. They take care of them till they are healed and then she focuses on finding them homes.

Last October I was admitted to hospital with continuous angina. I have something called vasospastic Angina which happens most often when you are at rest, even sleeping and an attack can last anywhere from 5minutes to an hour and sometimes I get continuous tracks on and off all day or for days. This happened last October and I ended up being admitted, whilst there they found in one of the blood tests I had possible a possible blood clot. So on the Wednesday they started me on blood thinner injections and on the Saturday I had a CT scan which revealed I had multiple clots in both lungs. Thankfully they were only small and I just used the injections for 10 days then swapped to tablets twice a day which I’m due to finish at the end of this month when they will see how I am. You did really well to get an Echocardiogram within the same week! Here there’s a 2 year waiting list and that’s for urgent cases 😵. So whilst things are feeling daunting for you I wanted you to be assured that the prospect of blood clots can feel scary but if you treat them quickly and you follow what your Dr tells you to do….don’t be too scared to do anything….sitting still doing nothing puts you at bigger risk than some gentle exercise. I’m sure everything will be fine ❤

I am praying your scan comes out well Lincoln and I am so happy you are home. Tongue is delicious with horseradish sauce! I am glad the drone is okay too.

Thank goodness Lincoln is okay, the drone was rescued, and a process is in place to help the feral cat situation. You are wonderful people! Janice from Arkansas USA

Welcome back home Lincoln. Hope the health issues are sorted out quickly. Bless you for trying to trap and take the feral cats to the vet. Definitely more satisfying than a facelift and lasts longer 😹😹😹

I’m so glad Lincoln is getting good care because it’s very hard to keep a good man from achieving great heights! And thank you for your info and actions re cats here in France. It’s so utterly stupid to hold onto a custom based on protecting sacrosanct balls! It’s not just á rural thing. And not just cats. Does have an intact dog make the owner more of a stud? Time to create a campaign like “Real men choose …”(Can’t think of a word that would work.)
That would be a meaningful revolution!

I’ve got a bit of experience with “symptoms” that have no reason. Make sure they check your bloodwork for vitamin or mineral deficiencies. If you don’t already, good idea to take a multivitamin. It’s helped me with some of my “symptoms”. I think some viruses these days do things we don’t even know about! Be well!

Glad you’re out of the hospital Lincoln. Hope all comes out clear.
Happy to help with the cats. Unfortunately my experience was neighbors with cats not neutered or spayed created many meals for surrounding coyotes, until I realized what was happening. Lets all jump in and help with this!

I hope Lincoln recovers quickly and things get back to normal for you two asap. You are so funny. No boat, no faceflift. Ha! I hope you're able to make a nice dent in helping to control the feral cat population. Yes, having a sense of humor can help in many situations. :) Keep your spirits up. All good things come to those who wait, right? :)

The same thing happened to my Son just after Christmas.
4 days in the hospital, every test going, 14 days on a heart monitor etc.
Just got a clean bill of health last week, hoping for the same for you.
