George Bernard Shaw is Irish. He was born in Dublin in 1856.
I think the confusion started because his famous house and geen writing shed is in Hertfordshire UK. The green shed is on a round platform so you could move it after lunch so the sun was in the window. I think the description of the paint was about that house/ shed, not GBS personally.
A white peacock, how exciting! The gardens are looking very green and lush, so much for the predicted drought. The skirting boards just finish off the bathroom perfectly. Good decision on the grand salon, do it right the first time and gain two ensuite bedrooms in the process. Thanks Stephanie and Philip.❤️🙏

My goodness Amoury has got a marathon job to do, but he will have no problem sorting it all out plus Phillip is just as passionate about doing things properly as Amoury is. The baby peacocks are so beautiful, I can't wait to see the white one as it grows. 💕🇦🇺
Stephanie, every time I see the courtyard I am struck by its complete transformation. It is truly stunning. I love Vivianne’s art. It, too is stunning. What a sweetheart she is. I love the new proposed changes to the Grand Salon and the upstairs bedroom and bathrooms. Still watching from PA, USA.

Philip did a great job explaining the plan. I do think it would of been nice to have seen Amaury. It has been so long since we have seen him doing any work. Is he gone now?
No. He's still there. Don't think he is over fond of being filmed, especially when he's working, and he usually is.
@@crae3422 And when it's hot, he takes his shirt off....Now that he and Natti are living together away from Lalande, even though they both work there, they probably go home after work to relax and have dinner, especially on weekdays, whereas before, they were pretty much pulled into the vlogs if they were in the kitchen at night. I imagine that on the weekends, it may be more likely for them to be asked to join the weekend guest dinners?
Phillip's excitement is contagious! It's so fun to watch him sharing about the plans! And I LOVE that you paint in a pretty dress like that! What a way to continue the joy of loved clothing for chores!

Vivienne's gifts were so nice. The fact that she designed and pieced the images together in Stephanie's gift is extra special. Phillip's gift was so.....Phillip. Just perfect.

He lived and died in Hertfordshire UK. His famous house and green writing shed are there. The green writing shed was built on a round platform so it could be turned after lunch. This was so the sun was always shining through the window. I think the paint description was of this house and green shed.❤

I really enjoyed the vlog where she and Simon went all out to entertain Steph and Phillip and laid out a gorgeous spread of food set up especially for them out in the garden, in the shade, near the roses and fountain and pool. And took them to wonder shops and introduced them to that sweet, talented old man who painted and sculpted beautiful art.
Sometimes it takes finding a tragedy in renovations to find a perfect ending...
White peacocks bring amazing luck to your home, I can attest as I have had 2 in my long lifetime and consider myself to be extremely lucky congratulations. Wonderful vlog, we need more vids of that garden, a long time coming to fruition beautiful.
Yes, please keep showing us the garden, flowers, fruits, veggies, herbs, chickens, pea chicks, Pavlina & Kirstie in the garden, Marie's flower arrangements for the guests' rooms would be nice to see, as well as more of what we have enjoyed on the guest dinner table and kitchen.

The house in the UK had a famous green writing shed. I think she was speaking of that shed. It was on a round platform so that you can move it around, so there was sun in the window at all times. See Shaw's Corner.

I’m sure the paint is named after the shed. But the playwright is Irish which is the part I was correcting

Dan is doing the steel beams in his chateau shell which will no doubt save the remainder of the structure, so I fully understand that you need to do this in the Grand Salon to make it more grand and obviously very safe. Good for you Phillip and Amaury. Hang in there Steph...I'm sure it will be gorgeous!

Vivienne is so very talented! The prints were splendid and Philip is just the man to be sporting that exquisite bracelet! The garden looks so lovely this year…just wait a few years and everyone in the chateau will be practically living under the pergola not wanting to leave! It is so nice to have baby chicks and the pea chicks in there too! Now Philip just needs a puppy! 😊
Preferably one who doesn't bark all the time, like neighbors' dogs in my past. They would bark every time I went out on the patio or to work in the garden.

You are lucky to have him Stephanie, he reminds me of my young man (I am 60 and he is 40, we met when he was 27 and I 47.. and it has just gotten better and better)
Wow, that is awesome! My last boyfriend was 18 years younger than me, but it didn't last. I had a boyfriend 10 years younger before that, we almost got married, but, his culture and religion made things hard to harmonize. My ex husband (before the boyfriends) was 8 years younger. I am divorced and at age 69, feel ready for a second husband/final mate. I see some success stories of people finding the love of their lives in their 70's!

So nice to see Vivian visiting for a few days. Truly love the gifts she so kindly gave. Her 'historical' print creations are so unique and inspired. But as a History / Evolution of Design prof with a School of Fashion college just outside of Toronto, I regularly focus on the influential 'Grand Tour' as one of the key inspirational bases of the Neo Classical period... and fell in love (actually obsessed) with the bracelet Vivian gave Philip. I've attempted to access Vivian's listed site to see if I can hopefully purchase one of the 'others' she mentioned would be available, but not seeing the site. Is It up and open yet. Loving all of your work! UPDATE... Found Vivian's Site in a roundabout method. Many Thanks!
I love Phillip’s attention to detail. His explanation of the changes that he’d like made to restore the rooms to the way they were originally was excellent. I also think that the best approach is to replace the old beams with metal beams, so that the structural changes shouldn’t be required again in the distant future. Everything is going to be a mess for quite some time, so might as well do the best work possible. Also, if Amaury thinks that the metal beams & the more expensive work is the best solution, I’d go with that. We all know what a perfectionist he is and how excellent his work is. The chateau will be strong & even more beautiful once the work is complete.

Love this vlog! Marie was so shocked that the Peacock was coming after her. She thought she has her chick! But all was just fine and the little ones were brought back to mom. Glad they found their destination!

We in the U.S. do not get out grapes to come out until early Fall, End of August perhaps. It takes more time. Love them!
In Southern California, we have ripe grapes NOW.

Good afternoon from the SF Bay Area. What a treasure trove your garden has become, and all the animals. Stephanie, I did want to comment on the piano in the Grand Salon which is against the wall. If it can be avoided a piano should stand free or at least never touch an outside wall or a kitchen wall. The varying temperatures play havoc with the tuning. Have a wonderful evening! Hello everybody from Lalande! Just a little idea, I would paint the pink leaves from both lights a bluish/purple color same as in the wall paper 😊
I love those lamps, I think they go well with the theme of the bathroom and it would be a pity to replace them 😊 and indeed with purple leaves they would seem as if they were made for this room🤩
I agree with you a hundred percent, exactly what I was going to say, a bluish/purple painted on the flower petals. And keeping the leaves the way they are or a different shade of green if something works better with the shades of green paint down below.

The grout needs some fresh grout paint or cleaning. This is an easy inexpensive way to freshen up your tiles without replacing your tile.
