I think it's really interesting that your home has a 2-storey apartment, similar to Chateau de Colombe (Journey to the Chateau channel). I have a couple of tips: we tacked plain white sheets over unsightly walls for a few weeks, when we removed all the kitchen cabinets, until we could get to them to replaster and paint. Another tip: I put a peg rack inside each side of my tiny closet to hold clothes I would otherwise lay on top of a bookcase. They are set at a steep angle (about 60 degrees), touching the door frame at one end, and almost touching the hangers at the other end. It's a big help (though I still throw things into the floor of the closet). Your vlogs are charming, BTW.
I agree, never feel embarrassed to show a space that you will be working on. You have done so much up to now and have done everything so well. Just think of all the knowledge you have learned up to this point an how much easier this room will be for you to do. This is now your space to enjoy and make your very own....looking forward to it!! You’re right Amanda! When renovating, if you have a bedroom sanctuary to escape to it makes the shambles you live in elsewhere more palatable. That and a good kitchen!
The château is looking good. I’m sure that you will get it done before you’re 66. OK regarding the Virginia creeper. I live in North Carolina and we consider it an invasive weed. I spend a lot of time pulling it up and off of my privacy fence from where it comes over from the neighbor’s yard.

I have Boston Ivy on the back of my house that needs trimming at least twice during the summer. It's a cousin to Virgina Creeper. I use a leaf rake to scrape down the ivy from the wall to where I can cut it. It's very satisfying scraping off large swaths of ivy using this method and a lot faster than picking away at it by hand. Leaf rake not garden rake. It's more flexible and lighter.

Remember to take the halters with you every time you take them treats so they get used to them. Once they are use to seeing them, try draping it on them etc til it’s no problem to put them on. Will be much easier when it’s time to lead them to a new pasture and see the farrier.
Your master bedroom will be lovely... No doubt, you do need a sanctuary to be able to retreat to. Curious, the barn kitty you were able to trap and have neutered. Have you seen him since? You are so compassionate in regards to your pets, they are living there best lives 😺💜🙏👍

I did like this video very much I to have a beautiful antique chair With clothes hung over it lol 🤭 I very much adore your Chateau an The grounds are so beautiful 😍 Your donkeys are sweet 💕thank you for sharing them cats are a must when having a Chateau' they see an get the critters we don't see" My son had just commented about this to me the other day how as we carry on in our day an we don't notice nor see the spiders or crawling Thing's about us" but cats do" and I say... Thank goodness for that... 👍🥰 🐾🐾🐾🐈 and there's, The dog's who scare off the bigger intruders" so a Chateau has to have dog's 🐕🐶🐾🐾 Your home is beautiful 🥰💐 it's just taking One day at a time for the things to do on your list' to check.✔off My biggest pain is painting 😖 I'm so beyond word's not happy About having to do it... But it saves the money for other Things... Virginia Creeper is very tough to manage. It's invasive and you will constantly try to trim it. Recommend climbing white roses and clematis. Why white? You can see white flowering plants at night, and if you do accent lighting, it will look stunning.
In my family we did a spring and fall cleaning, my father would inevitably attack the junk drawer and not leave it alone until my mother and I were all done with the house...be grateful Lincoln is just shining the door handle for a few seconds and not all day!!!

100% I have a chair-clothes problem. It’s for transitional clothes that are not pristine clean but have only been worn once or twice and can still be worn a couple more times until I wash them😂 I’ve tried eliminating chairs in order to prevent the chair-clothes piling however it’s amazing how many things you can turn into a clothes pile, in lieu of a dedicated chair. You are not alone. Ps. I totally thought your bedroom wall looked like a Basquiat. You said last week that you wanted on!

I have Boston Ivy on the back of my house that needs trimming at least twice during the summer. It's a cousin to Virgina Creeper. I use a leaf rake to scrape down the ivy from the wall to where I can cut it. It's very satisfying scraping off large swaths of ivy using this method and a lot faster than picking away at it by hand. Leaf rake not garden rake. It's more flexible and lighter.

Remember to take the halters with you every time you take them treats so they get used to them. Once they are use to seeing them, try draping it on them etc til it’s no problem to put them on. Will be much easier when it’s time to lead them to a new pasture and see the farrier.

Virginia Creeper is very tough to manage. It's invasive and you will constantly try to trim it. Recommend climbing white roses and clematis. Why white? You can see white flowering plants at night, and if you do accent lighting, it will look stunning.

In my family we did a spring and fall cleaning, my father would inevitably attack the junk drawer and not leave it alone until my mother and I were all done with the house...be grateful Lincoln is just shining the door handle for a few seconds and not all day!!!

100% I have a chair-clothes problem. It’s for transitional clothes that are not pristine clean but have only been worn once or twice and can still be worn a couple more times until I wash them😂 I’ve tried eliminating chairs in order to prevent the chair-clothes piling however it’s amazing how many things you can turn into a clothes pile, in lieu of a dedicated chair. You are not alone.
Ps. I totally thought your bedroom wall looked like a Basquiat. You said last week that you wanted on!

Love your chateau so much. All your hard work brings such gorgeousness. I was just thinking. Did we ever see your downstairs bathroom completed. The one beneath the upstairs major bathroom renovation which is stunning. The downstairs bathroom also seemed like a pretty big job.
