- I play a lot of Crash Bandicoot. This is how I feel about each game. Hot takes may ensue.
I’ve wanted to revisit this topic for a while, and I figured now was the perfect time with Crash Team Rumble on the horizon!

Have the same take on Twinsanity: definitely not the best, but totally my favorite. It's just so chaming, funny and intriguing.
When the worst criticism a game have is not having more of it's ideas then you know it's special.
And having a tutorial for a type of enemy that ONLY appears on the tutorial almost feels intentional by how hilarious this is 😂
To be fair, the worst criticism about Twinsanity would definitely be the jumps. The jumps are totale ass, basically when Crash jumps, the gravity instantly drag him down. Definitely would have appreciate some more floatiness. Plus Crash’s spin hitbox is totally random, more often than not is so minuscole enemies will still hit you.
These are just some of the things I’m noticing, I’m playing it right now for the first time. But everything else about the game is so charming. I love the story and the characters. So I’m still liking the game a lot

I agree with CB1 and Twinsanity. While yes do I believe Crash Evolution could have been a great spin on the Franchise, Twinsanity is so weird, odd and special, that it has created a life separate from just a game, it's art.
I grew up with an N64 and MK64. I recently played Crash Team Racing and was like "where has this BIN MY WHOLE LIFE??" It's beautifully made.
I had a similar case a decade ago-ish when I played MK64 for the first time (I grew up with CTR). While I do think MK64 has the better music, CTR's tight controls blows MK64 out of the water. And due to that, I ended up preferring CTR in the end still.
I'm very glad you gave mind over mutant a fresh perspective. I was honestly getting very tired of the whole "different ergo bad" mentality crash fans have towards that game.
I just remember loving mutant and titans as a young kid. I played titans when it came out so maybe because I played it first I remember it way better then it was but it’s been so long mutants probably was a whole lot better in every way. Titans is just the dark souls prepare to die mode version of mutants if I take my biases away😂
Either way would love to see those two crash games plus twinsanity remade or at least ported onto new consoles in hd, those were some of my favorites

@@charbrillant7494 fr I bought it on my old 360 I dug up a few months back and played through titans. It’s not as hard as I remember when I was a kid but maybe it’s because I found all the insta jack power ups pretty easy now that I’m older. Havnt replayed mutants yet but I think mutant combat and gameplay was the only thing that was improved in that game. I agree titans story and missions were simple and straightforward and to the point and I like it for that.

Yes, Electron Avenue is absolute eyecandy that can't be matched. Good track. Good soundtrack. Good redesign. Fun originally AND "remakely". It's just good lol. Besides that, solid ranking :)

Took inspiration from Schaffrillas on that, and I agree it’s a lot of fun.
I like how you had the OG Crash 1 ranked so high, it's one of my favourite games of all time, this may be due to nostalgia as it was the first video game I ever played, I remember playing it with my dad when I was younger, the first & only video game I'd ever seen him play, but I loved the soundtrack, the level aesthetic, especially in The Lost City & Sunset Vista, seeing Cortex's Island in the distance with that orange sunset background, absolute masterpiece. It's good seeing others have their different opinions on the ranking of crash games, I have Crash 4 at the top, but everyone has Crash Boom Bang at the bottom lol it sucks
Honestly, the only major issue most people have with the original game is the save system. I'm actually okay with everything else. But if you intend to finish most of it in one or a few sessions, the saving barely feels like an issue anyway.
Twinsanity being #1 wasn’t so unexpected but I love it as well. It’s insanely broken but just something about it is awesome. Playing Twinsanity for the first time as a huge Crash fan is something I can’t explain. You’re on this dramatically different adventure as Crash and you’re not able to tell what’s going to happen next. The first time I played it honestly was such an insane experience and it was a ton of fun to have something different and roam around a bit. Using the objects of the map to get to places you aren’t intended to be made the game replayable over time. You nailed it though… we will never see such a broken but action packed Crash game ever again the way Twinsanity was.
Crash 2 is my favorite game of all time though lol

Ngl Twinsanitys soundtrack is an absolute bop. Ive had N Sanity Beach's acapella stuck in my head for years now and pray for the sweet release of a nitro crate to make it stop as i slowly descend into madness and join the voices in their cheery tune

And that final battle against Cortex in his Mutant Form along with the cutscenes before and after it is amazing. I just think Cortex's Mutant Form is incomplete. I bet if they added more features to the model, then that would make the battle even tougher.
Mind Over Mutant kicks ass it was the first Crash game I played since PS1 days and I put 100s of hours into it because I was having so much fun. Almost all the titans felt fun to play and some were delightfully broken, like Grimly, while still letting the player beat enemies just by using Crash. Metroidvania type exploration always earns points from me when done as well as this game or better. Platforming was reasonable and it was fun trying to figure alternative ways to get past certain obstacles. I also love that most of the titans had Heroes, boss variants, that you could find, fight and use for some time.

🙌twinsanity🙌 being number one is something that i cant express the level of agreement to, its just amazing i grew up playing it and twoc, because i was born in 03, imo i would have bumped up tag team racing a bit and thats of course because of the nostalgia😂

Im glad someone finally mentioned this. I love how broken twinsanity is, im not a speedrunner or someone who tries doing glitches but breaking the game is so much fun and adds so much replayability to an already replayable game.
Awesome video! Couldn't agree more about the things you said about number one! The game just makes me so happy everytime I play it, it's really funny, all the levels are great, the soundtrack and environments are fantastic! I just wish I could play this game with a modern console! The Dingodile boss fight is also amazing!

I'll be honest, at first when I watched this I was a _little_ disappointed when I saw my favorite crash game 7th in your list (especially with how much I bully you about it), but then as the vid moved on I realized... this franchise has an absolute sh*tton of top-tier entries!!

My Life will be complete if we get a Crash Twinsanity Remake with all the cut levels added in so it would be fully finished like it was suppose to be if it wasn’t heavily rushed. Crash Twinsanity had so much potential. The Game deserves a Second Chance 😊💎
everything you said about twinsanity i agree with it, the hole game as a package is BEAUTIFUL . it has a charm that none of the crash games have. the entire N.sanity beach in that game ( because of the charming graphics and the fun music and how fun it is to control crash and explore the island ) is such a relaxing and fun place that i want to live in that place until i die. and the final level of the game is one hell of a challenging but fun platformer level. this game is easily one of the best gaming experiences i ever had.
the game is so unique and charming that just like you i dont want a remake of it ( because just like you i love this game for what it is NOT for what it could be ) i would want a free roaming game INSPIRED by twinsanity instead
There is a running theme with most Crash Bandicoot games, when Crash does something first like Anti Gravity Karts or Capture Mechanic, the Mario games does what Crash did a lot better like Mario Kart 8 or Super Mario Odyssey

Tag Team Racing and Clash of the Titans were the two crash games I ever finished. I loved the absolutely bizarre and absurd jokes and the look of COTT, was amazing. Its what cemented my love of Nolan North's version of N.Gin.

Why should people stop asking for crash bash remake. They can do the same thing crash bash ,what they did with nitro-fueled.Just add more chars, mini-games, modes and that's it.
I really think they’re just better off making something new. For a Crash Bash remake to be good they’d have to completely overhaul most of it and at that point it’s not even really a remake.
@@RikoKSB I don't think a overhaul is necessarily just add all that stuff that I mentioned, in-game-money which you can earn by playing and they can change maybe a little bit the requirements in story-mode. There is a good reason why almost everyone wants it back. Also good video 👍.

I was at first questioning your takes on the original trilogy remake, but after seeing your take on the PS1 versions of the game, the criticisms are rather fair and justified. I grew up on just Crash 2, Nitro Cart, Twinsanity, Wrath of Cortex and Tag Team Racing. Overall, your placement of each turned out to be exactly where I would have put them all.

I absolutely agree with you about the Crash 3 remake, and while the jet ski takes getting used to, yeah, the bike is WAAAAAY stiffer than in the original, which does make time trials harder. Also yeah, Crash 4 is such a slog to get through I was utterly exhausted and grateful that the game was finally over and done with. It was gorgeous yeah, but the ridiculous difficulty come the Food Dimension really wore me down, especially with how insanely long the levels are.
I honestly think that every single issue people have with Crash 4 would have been lessened if the levels were shorter or split up. Frustrating to find all the boxes? It's okay, the level would only be 3 minutes instead of 15. Really difficult section of the level? It's okay, because if you exit and come back to play it later, you only replay the first 2 minutes of the level before getting to where you were. Too much stuff to collect? It's okay because you have shorter sessions to collect them all and it won't feel as frustrating replaying levels.
Yeah, the N-verted levels in Crash 4 definitely feel like padding and should've just been a fun option you could turn on in the menus. DKC Return and Tropical Freeze's mirror/hard modes made sense because they increased the difficulty, but there's nothing to add here because you already die in one hit to begin with.

I Remember Growing Up Playing The Wrath Of Crotex On The Xbox And Tag Team Racing On The PSP As Well.
And I Still Love The Wrath Of Crotex And Tag Team Racing To This Day Despite The Critic's

I just stumbled upon this video by chance loved it, I’m a big fan of Crash but never played all his games but I can agree with “most” of what you said.
Original Crash 2 was peak crash, funny thing is I’ve heard so many people say good things about Twinsanity yet I played about an hour of it and got so bored that I still to this day refuse to touch it(but hey that’s just me).
Also CTTR music was awesome especially the race track themes bringing back Spiral Mouth was good but pairing them up with the guy who did the soundtrack for the
Simpsons Hit and Run was just amazing.

Crash Bandicoot Twinsanity is literally my favorite game of all time. I quote it constantly despite the fact that no one I quote it to has any clue what I am talking about. I grew up playing this game, and I still have yet to one hundred percent it. I watched my dad one hundred percent the game, and his save file lives on on my PS2.

wow you described how i feel with Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant perfectly, there's soo many issues with Titans i kinda surprised many just glossed over it's issue.
Meanwhile people keep pointing out MoM's issue with backtracking are a dealbreaker, like what? Crash 2 and 3's backtracking are far worse than MoM, and calling the game "Metroidvania" felt like the perfect description

for the record, sonic shuffle *does* have good qualities. it's not great, but there *are* nice things to say about it, which puts it over crash boom bang
I can breeze through OT 100+% completion easily, but I kinda missed "that" feeling of enjoyment in the end. It's just not the same anymore. N. Sane got that fixed for a while, but it's still the "same" trilogy at the end of the day. Crash 4 really brings out that feeling back when I played and completed it. It's fresh, new, longer, completions were hella LONG and HARD, but that's the good stuff for me, it motivates my childhood rage again.
In conclusion, I couldn't care less if some view it as sloggy and the levels are too long, to me, the more Crash time, the better. This game rejuvenate my love for Crash more than replaying the OT and N. Sane trilogy, even more "nostalgic" as I got said enjoyment back. I'd rather keep replaying this for now, at least until it "worn out" again like the Original Trilogy lol
I'm not as much of a Crash person as I am a Spyro person, but I find a lot of kinship here as someone who has always felt that, while the Reignited Trilogy looks nice enough in its own way, it doesn't capture what I loved about the artstyle of the original games at all and I ultimately still prefer the originals.
One thing I will specifically give credit to the N. Sane Trilogy for, though, which you didn't mention is that I love being able to play as Coco basically all the way through the whole thing. It seems like not a big deal but I think she's such a fun character and the trilogy plus It's About Time really feel like they gave her time to shine.
Coco is my favorite character in the franchise so that’s definitely a huge plus in NST, but ultimately it didn’t sway my opinion too much so I just ended up not mentioning it.
There’s a lot of things for several of the games that I didn’t think about mentioning until after I finished the script but I didn’t wanna make it longer.
Crash Twinsanity truly is a game where the sum is so much more than the whole of its parts

Playing the original trilogy with full completion every once in a while has become a tradition with me and my brother, which makes me hold a grudge towards crash 3's time trials. For the love of me it takes like 100 tries for me on some levels to get the platinum, while he gets it in just a few. Then I get frustrated when he's miles ahead and I'm still bashing my head against the wall on road crash 😂 List placement was rly good tho, crash 3 is objectively better than the first one, but crash 2 takes the cake when speaking of naughty dogs' works
I am not mad at this at all. It's pretty damn close to what I'd rank. Only difference is Twinsanity was my favorite years ago until I replayed it this year actually. Probably got bumped to 4th or 5th overall. Original Crash 2 is now my favorite and people look at me crazy when I say that. I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes 2 the best out of the PS1 trilogy.
Had a period of time where I was starting to prefer Crash 3 over Crash 2 because I’d been burned out on the latter from speedrunning it. But after taking a look at it from a general lense rather than a speedrunning one I realized that it was still my favorite of them. :D
I actually had the reverse experience with Twinsanity lol. It was perpetually in my 4th-5th range until I replayed it a few years ago while learning the speedrun for it. I just slowly realized more and more things I loved about it until it became my favorite, and then I did a full casual 100% playthrough of it to confirm how I felt. :3

I’ve been doing them daily over on Twitch for a few weeks. Just haven’t had anything to upload here, but I’m still very much running your game. 😁
I have a big soft spot for Nitro Fueled for being with me at a time when life wasn't that great. The game isn't perfect, I hate how microtransactions infected this game. But the game was so beautiful, from the environments, to the characters animations. There's also so much cool new content arriving every month. I even entered in some communities about the game and met a lot of new people.
By the time the game wasn't getting more new updates, everything I had going on in my life had work out well. I'll always remember this game fondly for the time it made me happy in lonely days.
Personally I find Spyro Orange a little more passable because Crash Purple has Chopper Stopper.
I HATE CHOPPER STOPPER.

Outside of glitches, Twinsanity had other issues that made it unfun & infuriating to me, plus most of the fun stuff I enjoyed in the best of the originals didn't translate well in that game due to it focusing on one big gimmick: Cortex, and even that had a lot of untapped potential due to Twinsanity's unfinished nature. The game felt very empty to me, but will agree that Ant Agony is fire.
The glitches are very annoying but i still think the game is in my top 3 crash games
I think crash of titans is a very underrated unapreciated game, especially a new fresh concept of crash bandicoot even if this game doesnt fullfill all the criteria.
The Wrath of Cortex is the only game I've ever played in the Crash Bandicoot series. I believe I played it on the PS2 in 2006.
Missing out on a lot of bangers tbh, but Wrath of Cortex is a solid game nonetheless.

Crash 4, the second one, is my favorite with how big the game is.
By the way, the loading times on PS2 definitely depend on the version you pick; on the Platinum PAL version they were not really that long imho, and then, even though this is not the legit way of playing The Wrath of Cortex... I just downloaded a DVD-size iso of the game and put it on a DVD with a program like Imgburn. The result was phenomenal, I wish the actual product performed that well.
Yes, you also need a modded PlayStation 2 for that, but I own the original copy of the game, it's legal. I think I deserve it.
Stuff like OPL and other mods definitely makes TWOC loads way more manageable, but I’d argue that Platinum/Greatest Hits are still a bit too long, even if they’re way better than black label.
Either way, it says enough that I didn’t even think to mention the loads until after I finished writing the script. 😅
