Everytime a new camera come out TH-camrs make a "switching" video 😂
Do you guys actually shoot real work?
Been on the R3 since it came out…first time I’ve contemplated switching since then! Not a bad run I’d say 🤷🏼♂️
Same here... Been Canon since 2005, and R3's since they were released 2 years ago. But I'm also considering the move. The FX3 and a9iii looks like a killer combo.
I’ve shot with both Canon and Sony. I have gotten gorgeous images from both. The Sony cameras just didn’t feel good in my hand and to this day will take an integrated gripped body over a battery grip period. I’m not spending $6000 on a body then, spend $400 on a grip. When I shot Sony it was still recommended not to shoot in bad weather (rain). I’m sure that’s changed by now but, Sony glass isn’t cheap. Just depends on what you’re buying. The 70-200 GM is the same price as the RF equivalent. I just got the R3 and the 24-105 2.8 L. I can do everything with this combo weddings, portraits, landscapes etc. I don’t feel like this lens even needs to come off of this camera. The combo is just mind blowing!!!! If you need to switch though it’s all good at the end of the day when it comes to gear it’s just us pleasing ourselves when it comes to our work it’s us pleasing our customers. Customers don’t know the difference between 2.8 or 1.4 unless you tell them. I found the end of my gas with this combo the R3 is the best camera I ever owned. I was all about primes until this 24-105 2.8. Now I only own that and 16mm 2.8 (for little rooms) I might be selling that lens too😂
What’s your video rig set up on r3
@@MassMediaArtistryOnly photos I’m not into the video side. If I shoot video it’s just hand held with my 24-105 2.8.
great video! came here from your 28-70/f2, i'm 99% a photography guy, but the global shutter seems quite interesting especially in terms of flash sync speed. i'll need to research this more, thanks for a great video!
… got my a9 III last Thursday. It‘s amazing! So if you o.k. with the base ISO 250 (extended 125) go with it! 😀
A9iii is super sick BUT i would like to see what the R1 has to offer? before giving up the R3.
Yeah, this, R1 will do almost as good as global shutter, but with better images. I also just don't like Sony's ergos, at all, and not a fan of their colors. Plus, CPS platinum is just such a perk.
The A9 line has been a staple for wedding photographers since it came out. The a9iii is a perfect camera for this purpose. Additionally, the video side of the camera you wouldn't need the FX3 (TBH, in many ways has better AF and video features that are better than the FX3). If you combine this fact with all the great glass options (not to mention that the glass is smaller and lighter), I think it makes a lot on sense for you to give it more consideration.
Absolutely! Don’t think I’d get rid of the FX3 but the A9iii for sure looks like a great companion 🤙🏼 thanks for watching!
Enjoyed your video! Ive shot Nikon, Sony and Canon in that order over the last 20 years. For me, Canon is the clear winner for many reasons. Sony has a weak hot shoe that caused many problems for me shooting off camera flash. Also, the ergonomics are not great. Canon has the best customer service and for me, the best overall experience. Take care Josh.
Micro hdmi is the only downer
You shoot most of the time with short lens why do you need such a fast action camera that is made for sports and wildlife? 😄 btw. Tony northup just made comparison and dynamic range is much better on Canon R3.
Also Sony memorycards are freaking expensive..
You said that Canon lenses are super expensive. Have you not noticed that the cameras are very expensive. And Canon has created lenses that have never been created before. Now personally I am a Canon user. I don't use any third party lenses, nor am I rich. I actually go to my regular job and save up money to buy all of my lenses. I'm very glad that you have enough money to just switch brands. Personally, I wouldn't do it because I really like everything that is Canon. And the last time I checked, when I put a picture in front of a client, they can't tell what camera I shot it on or what lens I used. It's not necessarily always the camera, but it definitely is the skill of the photographer. I use the Canon R3 strictly for sports and nothing else. So all of that stuff about video means nothing to me. At this point, I have totally forgotten why I have gone on this rant🤣😅😂
I dont even understand why people still buy into canon ecosystem.
Because it works and not everyone can afford to follow fashion
You don’t switch systems for small feature boosts or because a camera is trending or even if a system becomes number one. You only switch systems if a system is hindering your style, or you aren’t inspired by the system anymore. I don’t understand what is making people trip about Canons ecosystem? If you take into consideration the RF glass combined with the adapted EF glass where’s the restrictions? I’m guilty of this so when I say people I’m included. We all make excuses for why we need to switch or buy something new when really we don’t “need” to switch or “need” to buy. There’s always a reason why and a reason not it’s just which reason is talking to you more? I know a girl still using her 2 Canon 5D Mark IV’s and will not switch to mirrorless yet and her work is still stunning.
One last thing Canon is and has always been an “optics first” company. So yeah they are gonna take their time developing these amazing lenses they have put out and they took their dear sweet time entering the mirrorless race that’s why some options are running behind. But, the EF glass has character and works perfect on the R system.
U failed to mention canon CPS is da bomb
Jump ship then the R1 gets released. Sony or other manufacturers don't make glass like Canon, period! Wished they would give us CLog 2 with the R3, and R1 better have.
I have many Canon glass that I sold years ago because the G Master are sharper. And many Canon who jumped ship would say the same.
@@giljesusseraspe9225not a chance. I shot both systems and the RF glass is far superior.
Canon is the apple in photography. Very simple and intuitive to use.
Sony on the other hand... too complicated, menu too bloated. Bad skintone.
Not this time. I used to be a Canon user. Sony colors are more accurate.
@@giljesusseraspe9225 i dont think so. I saw a video from manyortiz where he showed some flaws with the skintone. Try it out for yourself, shoot once horicontaly then verticaly and you will see a change in the skintone. Sony is far from acurate. Canon has the better skintones
It's getting harder to recommend Canon to others lol. Sony's roadmap looks more promising to creators from all different levels. From theatrical releases like "The Creator" to weddings and events, and everything in between. When Canon stopped listening to their customers, it's only natural for creators to vote with their wallets.
Yeahhh the RF availability thing is a kicker for sure 🤦🏼♂️ love the R3/R6II/R5 but so hard to be trapped into RF glass
nah canon is far way easier for work flow in terms of editing...sooo ... i wont ever switch to sony hahaha
Hahaha fair enough! I do love those canon raws
wut? 😂
@@DarelBah hi sony fanboy... 😌
There’s no brand that beats Canon in terms of of design and reliability. Sony’s cameras design sucks
😴
