I get mine Feb 8th and taking her to Paris with me this summer. She’s replacing the original a9 I got in late 2017. What a jump in tech lol
No joke. Enjoy!
@beatmixer0097 Any thoughts now after a month? How's working in the lowlight situations without flash? It's worth the amount of money or you can wait for the next gen? Thanks
@@the_phope my first assignment was in a poorly lit gym and I was PLEASANTLY surprised how well it did. The AF is vastly improved, incredibly sticky and accurate. The SPEED is ridiculous and I would argue should be illegal. I actually didn’t use HI+ and have been only using HI. I will save HI+ for the Olympics. Took it to the beaches of FL and brilliant sunshine shooting wide open with my primes and because the firmware isn’t out yet, had to stop down a bit
This. Planning on buying this this summer. I think it will be awesome for hockey.
Oh yeah no doubt!
Thank you for this super helpful video. I’m transitioning from Canon and your informative video has helped me with my decision. I’ll be getting the 9iii, eeek, and Sony lenses too 😅. Your work is awesome 🙌🏼
Heck yeah that’s awesome! I’m glad I could help. I think you’re going to love Sony!
Love your photography! Are you concerned about the base iso at all? The impact it’ll have on dynamic range?
Nope, not at all. I shoot above 250 ISO all the time. I’ve seen some tests and it’s not quit as good as my other bodies, but it’s definitely acceptable. I’ll take that all day in exchange for no flicker, rolling shutter or HSS!
Also, thank you for the kind words!
I plan on getting the A9III also. But I like the pre-shot buffering, the AI tracking, the superfast focusing, and the sync with flash at any shutter speed features.
All awesome features!
that articulating display was introduced on the a77 and the a99 had it as well. I don't know why they don't have it on all their cameras, or something like it.
I think they will from now on!
Global shutter is the future but with the current limitations, I’d rather get the Nikon Z9.
One thing that puts me off Sony is the lack of firmware updates.
Thanks for watching and commenting! All valid points.
Hi question would you recommend the Sony a7r 5 for sport photography?? Please help me out
It can do it yes. Is it the best? Probably not…mainly because it’s only 10 fps and the auto focus isn’t as good as something like the a1 for action, but it will work. I definitely use it all the time. If you’re experienced and know what you’re doing it’s more than enough.
I own the Sony A7SIII, A7RV, A9 and the A7IV. I agree with Matt that it can be done, but if sports photography is your main thing, then the A9, A9II and A1 is what you want due to their electronic shutter and 20-30fps in electronic shutter, so that you don’t miss a shot, once you get use to the camera and the pace of the games.
If you are doing sports videography, or hybrid then depending on budget, the A1 is the do it all. Heck even the A7IV can do it if budget is a concern. The A1 is just the better tool for the job overall.
The A1 will drop in price due to the A9III, if new is what you are buying. In the used market, the A1 prices are dropping like a rock. I would tell you to rent before buying so that you can try different stuff without the commitment and when you decide you will have the knowledge needed.
@@sidvicious3129 hello I have a good budget $6k but I love to do sports photography/portraits and I want to come back but I was looking at the sony a9 3 but it's 24.6 MP and it's starting ISO 250., I try the sony a7 iv I don't like I actually returned it about a month
maybe share your settings in .DAT?
Settings for what specifically? I have no clue how to create a .DAT file 🤣. I usually just list my settings when I want to share them. Thanks for watching!
Imagine buying the A9III then the A1 mark II comes out shortly after, can do everything the A9III does but higher megapixel global shutter, 8.6k downsampled 4k up to 120fps, new processors which is 8 times faster than Bionz XR, better and bigger screen, dual CF Express Type B, better dynamic range (equivalent to rolling shutter). How would you feel? I like the A9III but I feel for 1.5k increase in price compared to A9II, I expect them to not have trade-off in noise or dynamic range. 500-700 increase in price would sound more fair. But you just have to pay for being an early adopter.
If it were really close I wouldn’t be super happy, but I also know that’s a possibility. However, since it hasn’t even been announced or leaked yet who knows when it will actually come out (the a1 II). I would assume they will wait a little so as not to catabolize the sales is the a9III, but who knows. I’ve not ordered the a9III YET, but I do plan on it. I’m jay going to wait a couple months before I do. Thanks for watching!
That would put A1 mark 2 price at over $7k. That is insane.
@@nightdonutstudio When you spend 6k on the A9III, 7k plus would not make a big difference I feel.
@@MattHernandez thanks for sharing. I'm not a sports or wildlife photographer, more of hybrid. So 120 fps don't matter to me at all. So for my use case, if the A1 mark II has global shutter, and downsampled 8k, it's probably what i'm going to get.
@@Slipsch totally understandable!
I'm going to hold back on this camera for reasons I need hi-res images over speed.
Yeah I kinda do too honestly. So I’m holding off. Not 100% sure what I’m going to do yet.
if one is not a real professional, one has to come up with $6,500.00. the has a dated 25M sensor NOT over 50M.
if also funny that this camera body actually cost more than many photographers' vehicles.
atg & I say if you CAN NOT sell an 16X20 for $4,000.00+ or $18,000.00+ wedding, just use what you have or rent one
I think the 24 megapixels is because of the volume sports photographers shoot. 24 is enough if the gas what you shoot mainly. Most people don’t need more than that honestly. That being said, it IS a pro camera so if you’re not a professional and you don’t make your living with it, I’d probably say go a different route unless you have the disposable income to afford it.
I wish I could sell a 16x20 for $4000 that’s for sure! I don’t know anyone that can say they do that haha. If they are out there good for them! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
well done buddy but seriously who gives a .... (and the the A1 ii comes out!!!!)
If you don’t give a “….” Why would you watch the video? 🤣🤣🤣 I think people that focus on sports care quit a bit. The a1 II hasn’t been announced so who knows when it will come out. Plus, it will no doubt be more expensive. If the a9 series wasn’t profitable I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have continued it. Thanks for watching and good luck!
7000 box!! 😮
???
@@MattHernandez 7000 € expensive
Ohhhhh hahaha any bad. Yeah it definitely is! @@Steger13
