This whole situation is like the opposite of the Daddy Can't Dance movie that Drew made a video about where a dad learns breakdancing to pay his daughter's medical bills
Holy shit! Thanks for reminding me of that video. Crazy how the fictional father is better than the real one here- broski could've made it big and still had a family by his side

Honestly his apology to his kid was bait for break dancing He sounded in a psa after he did it "main point is its never to late to start break dancing" bro though the main point is to tell ya daughter things wasn't how it seemed! Ya dumb and disproven your trustworthiness
I mean he was kind of there though? He has pictures from last Christmas. And he showed the text messages. The birthday she said he didn't remember included messages where she picked out a $300 gift for herself. Plus she was getting 250 dollars every two weeks from him during the recent writers' strike.
@ayxx3548 Her key complaints revolved around finances though. She made it sound like her deadbeat dead left everything to do something financially catastrophic: breakdancing. She said he wouldn't pay for her medical bills, making him seem like a broke loser. Except that her and her mother (plus siblings) received 5 million dollars. They had full-on college funds to pay for the entirety of their studies, had to take on no student debt. She was still receiving aid from her dad until recently during the writers' strike (250 bucks every other week). Her dad was paying her 5k to "set her up" after graduation. etc etc. Financially, she was in the top 1% easy with how much she milked her dad. If she wants to cry "my dad was a multi-millionaire who gave my mom 5 million dollars+ but was never around emotionally" -- make that video then. It's honest but not as juicy. That's why she made a dishonest video about "trauma" to milk "pity me" likes from people who are unlikely to see 5 million dollars in their entire lifetimes. You're here defending her for her trauma and it's unlikely you'll ever see 1 million dollars, let alone 5.
@@gooodmorning4526 ahh right, and how is the daughter not also profiting off of her dad (views, likes, media attention etc) she is truly so unhinged, infact she even says it on her tiktok bio lmao
It’s infinitely funnier that he’s good at it. If he was bad, it’d just be tragic, but the fact that he’s so good that even his abandoned family is like “ok fair play he’s good” is insanely funny.
I cut my Dad off for being an abusive toxic manipulator and his response was a Facebook post saying "kids are temporary, wives are forever" despite already having been divorced once lmao. Not the same thing, but also kinda a funny trauma situation
@flan6449 Lol yeah, I have him blocked, my sister is the one who sent me a screenshot of that post. After my sister told him off for it he deleted it lmao
to say "people would love that" regarding getting together to try and have a conversation about your extremely damaged relationship is absolutely crazy
unfortunately that’s the case for a lot of girls with absent fathers. they see us an accessory. something that makes people think that they’re good men just because they’re dads.
I don't know if anyone will read this but i have a dad who has a platform online and was an awful father and I really feel for this young woman because doing this kind of confrontation online is something i've considered. To have a dad reply online in this manner (even if she was completely off base-- which she's not) is something so painful. It's painful to see a father prioritize his own success and image far above the lives of his children. It sucks to see him praised... I wish this young person strength and resiliency. Also, SO glad her siblings are on her side.
I dunno man I feel it was more nuanced than she let on and with how the mother acts I feel the daughter has been lied to rather than the dad just being the main issue. I think a lot of people projected their own experiance with their parents into this story to decide who was right or not. I personally think its a bit much to go online and trash your father that costs him a livleyhood then act like he shouldnt of defended himself. Ideally if your kid is wrong you call them out you dont allow it just because your older. In part of the story as well he was sent to jail for not being able to pay child support. If he lost his money clients but still has to pay child support he may of been worried he would be sent back to jail. The siblings are not "all" on her side either the brother has complety stayed out of it and still vists him while the other daughters didnt really call either out they just thought, like you that the dad should fo taken th brunt of the daughter badmouthing online and shouldnt challenge it. If my own son went online bathmouthing me, potntially costing me the ability to support myself, my new wife and potentially my son as well I would 100% do the same. Being the "kid" isnt an excuse for chatting shit and dragging people through the mud unfairly. Even though my own dad was WAY worse than her dad I still wouldnt trama dump half a story to millions online because thats a bitchy awful thing to do. She may be correct but he has evidence otherwise while no one else in her family does. I think people some kind of view of parents were they are supposed to always be the one to fall on the sword. However she isnt really a kid either she is an adult.

Even if he was a bigot like you claim that still doesn't mean anyone should be trashrd online and just "take it" especially since his truth is that it didnt happen. It shouldn't be a case of "if someone says something bad online to millions of people about you, its true by default and you have to take the online abuse for it" I dont think people are objective and are putting there own relationships with their own parents in this.

It's crazy how you're blaming him tho. He was there, whether you like it or not, and the reason he couldn't be there more is because of the mother, plus that he went to jail for unfair reasons and probably a sexist judge.
@@Honeyareucomin His mental state and ideology does not mean he is in the wrong though, and it's pretty sad to see a lot of people use that reason to disagree with him. I suggest you watch his side of the story. He's made newer videos about this.
My funny childhood trauma is when my father spent pretty much the entirety of when I was 8 dragging me and my mom through the court system to legally change my name (not JUST to change my last name to his, but to literally change my first and middle names as well) despite my VERY vocal desire for it not to change. The funny part? He won the right to change it. But he didn’t realize he won the RIGHT to change it and still had to actually… y’know… do it? He just thought the judge would go “poof, now child, you are this new person.” He didn’t find out my name never changed until I was 18 and walking the stage at my high school graduation. He literally asked me when I had changed my name back when the graduation ended. Do you know how many times he would have seen my legal name in between now and then?
My high school diploma has my middle name spelled wrong because my dad spelled it wrong when he signed me up for school in kindergarten. When I started getting student papers and I.D.s in elementary I kept asking him to go back and tell them to change it n he never did LMAOOOOOO
I forgot to add to the funny part of this: he lied to me for years n told me that I was wrong, that the misspelling is also on my ACTUAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE and so that's technically, actually my name. One of the things that I wished Kurtis had mentioned is that Break Dancing dad mentioned in his video that the divorce was neither of their faults and that no one came out of it looking good. What he didn't mention is that he *cheated on his first wife* and is now living with his affair partner.

He said he took breakdancing up years after the divorce though. So the actual niche part is the one where he paid his wife and the family 5 million+ dollars. I doubt you fall anywhere near that niche.

No cause why does everyone have to bring in homeschooling to everything 😭😭😭 I was homeschooled basically my entire childhood and I SWEAR it is not how people portray it. You do NOT get to just stop going to school and do whatever you want. For the teacher (parent) it's a lot of hard work and planning. You still have to follow a curriculum and meet requirements and you still have to have official papers in case someone sees your children out of school during school hours and decides to report you for no reason. It is NOT all kicks and giggles. It worked well for me but it is definitely NOT for everyone. And it is most certainly not a replacement for college and higher education. That’s just absolutely preposterous! You always have to take into account you and your children's specific needs and in our case not only was my mother an english and biology major with experience as a history teacher, but our designated school zone had a TERRIBLE graduation and success rate so homeschooling was kind of a last resort. But she never intended to keep us homeschooled forever, and she certainly did not intend for us to not seek higher education. Sorry for the unnecessarily long rant lol. Tldr: People like to take the "school" out of homeschool, but please don't think homeschooling is an excuse to not actually learn.
this is definitely how homeschooling is supposed to work and i’m glad you had a good and educational environment! unfortunately a lot of people who think like the dad use home schooling now to be selective about what they teach their kids (aka no climate change/evolution, no critical conversations about racism and other kinds of discrimination, a lot of emphasis on bible studies when their views comes from a place of religion, etc.), and i think that’s the main problem people usually fight against when it comes to home schooling. because the kids are completely isolated and unable to learn about those things even they wanted to. however, if home schooled kids always had your experience, then there would be no issue!
@@theGingerAutistExactly. I've not met many people who were homeschooled but I know of one family in particular who took the homeschool approach solely for indoctrination. The mother insisted on her kids learning as fast as possible, and last time I was in touch with them, she was forcing her ten year old to blast through high school level math as fast as possible so she could show off her kid. They were Christian and had a lot of Bible study as part of their schooling, and they also often came to our taekwondo class with bruises and mysterious circular scars (their mother is a smoker). The oldest was actually allowed to go to a public school for freshman year and immediately went off the deep end with explicit images and skipping class to smoke. She'd been sheltered and abused and acted out as soon as she could. Didn't see much of her after that, but her mom loved to talk tragically about how she ran away to be with some boyfriend - The same way she talked about her difficult son, who we stopped seeing altogether after the two of them got into an argument. Apparently she sent him to work on a farm and learn discipline for.... At least a year now. Don't know what happened to those kids but the only one I ever see anymore is the one she likes to flaunt around to prove how smart her kids are and what a great teacher she is. She absolutely took the school out of homeschool and it shows.
a celebrity deadbeat dad asking his abandoned daughter for a "collab" before reconciling their relationship is actually one of the most insane thing ever?? 😭 i personally wouldn't recover
The double standard of expecting "homeschooling" while simultaneously putting NO effort into his kids lives much less sitting down and teaching them with textbooks is WILD. How do humans function with such strong cognitive dissonance
these types of people honestly just dont like that smart and college educated people tend to be more progressive, so they want you to homeschool your kids not because youre qualified to teach but just bc they can push their own political ideologies onto them. these are also isolation tactics that narcissistic abusers use to get their kids to blindly trust them and their word only
Also, I have a question for him: was HE homeschooled? Because he goes to great lengths to point out that his lucrative job - not breakdancing - is what allowed him to (supposedly) send Madi and her family a lot of money. So how did he get that lucrative job with no college degree?? Nothing these anti-woke manbabies say is consistent, ever.
As a public school teacher, I promise you if we could get your kids to believe something, we'd get them to believe that brining a pencil is important 😂
Funny trauma story that is also somehow dance related: I was in an abusive relationship from 2012 to 2013. He frequently sexually and emotionally abused me. He also loved and I mean, LOVED Gangnam Style. He would frequently break into the dance in public, sometimes when the song was playing but sometimes just randomly. If it was while the song was playing, he would point at me during the “sexy lady” part (we are both guys). Now I am legitimately triggered by fucking Gangnam Style. I have Gangnam Style PTSD.
I once was slightly tipsy at a college party and accidentally Gangnam style'd through a screen door. It was SO embarrassing , but the owner of the house was really nice about it. Cut to 15 years later and I was telling this story to a friend and my husband turns to me and says, "Babe, you know that was MY screen door, right?" No I did not remember that, but it proves he was always a sweet guy 😅 Edit: Ok like 12 years, I can't keep track of time anymore haha

The thing is that when a kid is “brainwashed” you can tell. A parent that is actually a good parent being trash talked would talk to his child directly and not only that but apologize for ever making her feel abandoned. A child that is brainwashed wouldn’t joke the way she is joking. @g6797 First up, the "left to breakdance" narrative was hard to believe on face value. You can breakdance without leaving your family. It's not like you're joining a monastery and becoming a monk. Turns out he started breakdancing 7 years after the divorce as a hobby. He went over this. And according to him he didn't forget the birthday the "?" was a typo. He went over his previous birthday messages. She was also requesting 300 dollar gifts for birthdays in past messages so it's rich she wants a bunch of peasants who are lucky to get a 10 dollar funko pop on their birthday to defend her. He gives weird vibes, sure, and might be a rubbish dad but she's also a rubbish daughter. His breakdancing stuff, her milking madeup family drama for TikTok likes. They're both built for each other tbh. It's almost like they're *(shocker)* related. I remember reading Obama's "Dreams from my Father". His dad was the biggest deadbeat ever. Obama still tried to shine his dad in a positive light. Which, frankly, was unnecessary. She doesn't have to shine her dad in similar positive light but if he has paid millions of dollars for her upbringing, if she's student-debt free due to him, if he's her go-to dude whenever she needs a quick 5k to get her job going then the least she can do is not milk him for TikTok likes and direct hate his way. She's the one who started this and she knew it'd jeopardize his career. That backfired and if you go over her comments on TikTok she's been having borderline manic episodes since over how the much positive attention her dad has been getting instead.
He's definitely a quirky dude and no one calling him a "perfect father" but your making judgments off a few minute clips taken out of context for a funny video.
Conservatives are soulless and worthless but it frightens them to be reminded that the delusional defense mechanism they call their belief system, so in order to emotionally cope with the reality they don't want to face, they have to tell themselves that everyone else is being "brainwashed."
The craziest thing to me in that insane 30 minute response video is that you can clearly see him glancing down at presumably a script, meaning he wrote that, at the very least bullet pointed it so he remembered the points he wanted to make. He probably should have kept with the version that he left for break dancing, as if this is what he thinks is good PR, I wouldn't want him to be working my ad campaign.
It's definitely better than spouting what you think you remember. It's fine if your argument is scripted, as long as you've stated what you wanted to state and created a clear storyline for others to follow. People would prefer that than one who's just thinking on the spot and messing up the timelines or evidences. Commentary channels are scripted as well, but they more so use it as a guide to, as I've stated, create a clear storyline that's easy for others to follow.
@@kemma_ Of course it's better to script your thoughts. One of the many good reasons to script your thoughts is that actually writing it down might give you time to realize when you're saying something totally deranged. Haha exactly. Like I’m a “woke, leftist, queer with a made up gender.” my parents are divorced now. And my dad didn’t live in my home for a huge chunk of my teenaged years even while they were together, for work reasons. And guess what, I love my dad because he’s not a POS! 😂 I didn’t even have to resist any brainwashing. I can both be non-conservative and love my dad when my dad isn’t a weirdo. lol
I don't understand parents that behave this way. Whether or not you want to be a parent, or your kids are grown up, you're still the parent, and dealing with the difficult parts of your relationship with your kids is your responsibility and was from the moment they were born.
@@jacforswear18nuh uh! You were feminized because you didn't have a strong male presence in your life! That's the ONLY right way to raise a child! You love vaccines, so much lefty? Having a dad is the only effective vaccine against the WOKE MIND VIRUS! (joking if that wasn't obvious)
@@kolanos That’s what he says anyway. But I guess you just believe him because he’s a dude. Regardless, $600k *might* pay for college for four kids, but it certainly does not pay for private school and college for four kids, nor is it enough to let Mom care for AND homeschool four children AND take care of everything else.
@@manderly33 Yeah, the other stuff is what the $2-million lump sum and $12-18k/month in alimony and child payments was for. But you'll just believe a woman who was five years old at the time as the credible source of what money went where. The only evidence we have from either of these two supports the father's story. Even the daughter's screenshot of text messages with her father shows only one side reaching out and it isn't hers.
How is a man who abandoned his family telling people that home schooling your children is the only way. Mate, you weren't even at home with your kids, let alone teaching them anything.
Except she never provided any port that he abandons them. And he provided proof that he didn’t. And she used the word abandons for clout. And so dumb people like you would just automatically believe her for literally no reason.
AS someone with divorced parents, I can confirm I am in the lucky bunch. my dad still cares about me, he and my mom get along and they always think of us first when making decisions.
Speaking from experience, having a dad that thinks he can do no wrong is ROUGH. Also the “my kid was brainwashed by their mother” is so telling. My dad says the exact same thing about me and my brother.
Fucking hell it's insane how many dads people have who are like this. The people in this comment section really spoke about my experiences and many others. Crazy how common this is. Your comment especially, since I also have a brother older than me who's 18 so your experience specifically spoke to me. This is especially bad for me because not only did he cheat, he still doesn't think he did entirely wrong and even JUSTIFIES it using our religion. So yeah, I get how shitty it feels being framed as "brainwashed" (I had the joy to hear this in a court in front of a judge so yeah... Definitely didn't impact me of course...). I'm sure if it weren't for the law, they wouldn't pay for child support properly/at all. Sending love to you. I know it can sometimes hurt knowing that's how you own father thinks of you but we know the right and the wrong❤
Have you ever considered that your lived experience isn't the same as everyone else's and that a mother can keep the children away from their father? 😂 Grow up
@@baconscoobysnacks3135 Have you ever considered that she didn't say that her experience was the only experience or imply that mothers never do that? Dads who argue that their kids were brainwashed by their mother, think they have done nothing wrong, and take no responsibility for being terrible fathers are unfortunately just very common.
Right?? The main character in that movie was breakdancing to support his daughter (while having a few red flags in the process) meanwhile this guy was practically doing the opposite of that and is a thousand times worse 😭
It's not one or the other either. Being a good parent is a "marketable skill," teaches you how to care for other people which can make you a very kind person.
It's been an ongoing phenomenon-it is a genuine imperative mission for the conservative right to grow the proportion of the workforce engaged in labor-intensive jobs. Mostly because they don't understand how much free market capitalism influences their opinions; it's an ongoing pattern for conservatives to lose rage-value about a topic as soon as the issue becomes big enough that corporations can make money off of it, e.g. the ongoing crisis of "rainbow washing" after a 20-year culture war against the gays that has forced conservatives to target trans people instead. However, they also want people in labor intensive job for a big reason: so that the population can grow (more educated women have less children on average and have them later). Population growth in the Americas has gradually ground to a halt for many completely normal reasons that are expected of post-developed countries, but that's harming the market system of capitalism which banks its entire operation on the assumption that "as long as the population grows, the market grows." This is not a dunk on capitalism, it's just a plain and simple tenant of the ideology that was understood by even Adam Smith. Labor intensive-blue and pink collar-jobs foster such growth in a lot of ways, but mostly because it keeps people uneducated and they thus see lower income levels (on average). People are more tired after work each day, are more likely to split the household's employment to avoid daycare costs, are more likely to be unable to receive abortion access, etc. These are all enticing benefits of growing the (poor) population, just in consideration of conservative values; more people working in hard labor means more people are consuming products that bolster the economy, more people are choosing to stay at home to raise children (and usually women), and less people are receiving higher education, and less people have free time to interact openly with the federal government (i.e. too tired for national news cycles to affect their day-to-day). Note that the caveat here is that this phenomenon would have to be accompanied by a loss of labor rights (unionbusting), increasingly slack labor laws, gendered hiring practices, no increase in minimum or even average wages, rising inflation, and a growing gap between rich and poor . . . which we obviously have been seeing :( I don't really have to explain why those are bad things ontologically, but it's what they're aiming to do. This isn't a dig on manual labor jobs (which is what these conservative pundits are all really talking about, let's not kid ourselves), though. It is a result of the culture of productivity you mentioned-it's also why we're seeing lots of states renege on child labor laws. They fucked up their own country, having destroyed its economy, and are now trying desperately to get the populace to fix it so that they can reap the benefits of a robust economy due to widespread ignorance and wage slavery again (see: 1975-2008). EDIT: also wanted to reiterate that having a blue, pink, or other wise manual "marketable skill" labor job is NOT a bad thing and neither is not pursuing a secondary education; but this growing movement is not just about choosing a different career path. this is an attempt to backslide into boys leaving school early to serve in labor apprenticeships while women serve as housewives, as did the generation before the boomers (who actually enjoyed many of the benefits of abandoning conservative ideals until they voted for Reagan). if it was about just allowing the next generation to choose the skillset that came easy to them, assholes like this guy wouldn't have to defend themselves.

@zainarif5767 because actively participating in your child's life is showing up to occasional holidays and throwing money at them
@ayxx3548 Her key complaints revolved around finances though.

Poor relationships are not a one sided thing. It might be when your young but not as an adult when you have agency yourself.
Even if he was a bigot like you claim that still doesn't mean anyone should be trashrd online and just "take it" especially since his truth is that it didnt happen.
It shouldn't be a case of "if someone says something bad online to millions of people about you, its true by default and you have to take the online abuse for it"
I dont think people are objective and are putting there own relationships with their own parents in this.

Some people do home school like it's no school.
YES.I have never been homeschooled but that’s why the word “school” is in homeschool

I will say that him "using his daughter to capitalize on his career" seems a little backwards to me. It seems more like the opposite where she was using his career to capitalize on gaining her own attention. I'm not detracting from the awful stuff he's done, and I won't say he's not using the drama to spew his own weird ideology to the masses, and I won't say she's in the wrong for having the trauma she has, but it does seem like she just wanted an excuse to drag her dad by creating a tiktok that says "tell me a trauma that is also funny, here's mine about my dad who got a lot of attention as a breakdancer."

@@kemma_I definitely agree with this. It’s not bad to plan out what you say especially with such a serious topic

Except she never provided any port that he abandons them. And he provided proof that he didn’t. And she used the word abandons for clout. And so dumb people like you would just automatically believe her for literally no reason.
"i bet he never forgets elons birthday" hit so hard lmfao
@@Marzi29 obviously you have issues with reading comprehension because the post said it "is so telling" which implies exactly what I'm saying lmao

This is LITERALLY the evil version of the dad from the breakdancing movie Drew spent years looking for
Right?? The main character in that movie was breakdancing to support his daughter (while having a few red flags in the process) meanwhile this guy was practically doing the opposite of that and is a thousand times worse 😭
Literally LMAO
Omg I’m glad someone else made a connection to white men can’t dance (or whatever it was called)!!
OMG LMAOOOOOOO 😭 I have the same thought too.
omg you’re so right 😭😭
This is literally an arrested development episode. I can easily picture Tobias leaving his family to breakdance.
Tobias left his family to be a Blue Man. Of COURSE he would leave his family to try breakdancing.
This is so fucking perfect haha. I need to know what his hypothetical breakdancing name would be
If he had any ounce of talent whatsoever he’d abandon his family to pursue it
Tobias would also try to travel around the house by breakdance spinning.
@@nothere9295 "Michael, my name is simple and to the point. It showcase my core skill of breakdancing. Yet also fun." Tobias strong head game.

I think people don’t realize you don’t pay child support for children you are involved with in an equal custody situation.
The way he keeps saying "marketable skill" just gives me goosebumps, it feels so toxic in an age of productivity over desire or happiness
It's not one or the other either. Being a good parent is a "marketable skill," teaches you how to care for other people which can make you a very kind person.
He says that while being a breakdancer.... He does know that lost breakdancers don't make a lot of money, right...?
@@tamirisgaelzer1902 Well then go find them
He runs an ad agency to it makes sense he frequently uses jargon like that
It's been an ongoing phenomenon-it is a genuine imperative mission for the conservative right to grow the proportion of the workforce engaged in labor-intensive jobs.
Note that the caveat here is that this phenomenon would have to be accompanied by a loss of labor rights (unionbusting), increasingly slack labor laws, gendered hiring practices, no increase in minimum or even average wages, rising inflation, and a growing gap between rich and poor . . . which we obviously have been seeing :(
I don't really have to explain why those are bad things ontologically, but it's what they're aiming to do.

Probably gaslights too.

it looked like he was reading from a script a lawyer gave to him or something. he kept glancing off the screen and i could see a text article in his reflective glasses. not sure if it's true or not but his pauses and random change of tone/lack of at some parts made it obvious.
