I watched this last night and havent laughed out loud at something this hard probably ever. This video is so fucking excellent. While I love most all Drew’s videos, this one really exemplifies how talented and seriously funny he is. Absolute banger, 10/10, grateful to have this treasure on TH-cam.
The way you talk about this guy being funny and make a hilarious video about him without being mean or picking on him at all is so admirable. His response of thankfulness is a testemant to that. This video makes me so happy.
@@wilthomas But you don't actually know the guy, that could just be his sense of humor. Just because he seems creepy to you doesn't mean he objectively is, nor does it mean he's a bad person. People are right to admire Drew's ability to joke about this guy without making fun of him or tearing him down. When it comes to real people you shouldn't judge them by their cover, but by the content of their character, like their actions and intent behind said actions. And so far, from what I've seen at least, this guy is probably a nice fellow with a quirky sense of humor. So yeah I hope this comment has come across right and not confrontational, cause my goal with this response is simply to make the world a better place. Any who, thanks for reading, and God Bless!!!
At 10 minutes and 40 seconds I got up from where I was trying to fall asleep for a nap and immediately added this video to my favorites, before even finishing it. The entire whiteboard segment with all the character names had me wheezing on an otherwise very dull snow day. And I feel like this book was written just for a youtuber like Drew - basically his younger counterpart - to make such a video like this one, and that makes it all worth it.
nono clearly he is drews future son who has come back to try to get in touch with drew to prevent something awful from happening in the future and this was the only surefire way to get his attention
I found this guy a while back and something necessary to add is that his videos didn’t used to have this much pause at the end, but people in the comments keep telling him to pause longer and he keeps extending it.
Half way through your frantic breakdown of all the characters in Passion or Pancakes, and I actually started making predictions about random names that I thought would be included, and I was right about every one of them, including my own name.
Your stress melts away when you look at him, but it pools around me and gets in my shoes. I don't know where I was going with that but watching him makes me anxious.

I remember the reason why he has such long pauses at the end is because his comment section would recommend he lengthen it to give them time to soak it in. I’m so glad he listened
the explanation of the book literally just sounds like highschool drama and i love it so much. i know i could only ever actually listen to it through the way you explained it thoufh
I like that after Nathan drops his thought of the day he chooses not to cut the video there and just stares at you awkwardly. Truly an experience to be remembered.
It also sounds like at some parts he may have been doing speech-to-text or something and it wasn't hearing him correctly? I don't know how else a sentence like "He hoped Holly was in a spanking." comes to fruition. 🤷🏻♀
I started following him like 6 months ago and ever since I’ve been absolutely convinced hes part of an ARG of some time and the book was a kept clue to solving the mystery because I couldn’t process that this man was a real person
This or he is just a guy that somehow fried his brain to bits. Either way something is going on. I appreciate the silly jokes, but the staring concerns me.

i didn't know i need this, but i do
Passion or Pancakes should be adapted into a movie and Drew should star in it
He should play every single character tbh.
God, turning it into a psychological horror where it's all in the main characters head feels like it'd be so fun
Could be like that final scene in Ant Man, a bunch of people in succession, and just pure beautiful chaos
As a Sara/h, the fact there's an abundance of Sara/hs in the friend group is the most accurate thing I've ever seen. Art truly imitates life.
What is it like being a Sara/h
In my opinion movies, books, and TV shows aren't at all accurate because there aren't at least 3 Katies, 3 Emilys, 5 Mikes, 4 Nicks, and 8 Chrisses.
Here in Brazil it’s Beatriz. If you live for long enough in Brazil you’ll meet like three girls names Beatriz for every one person with other name. Back in middle school I we had four or five just in our class
@@tacos5682 Sara/h here, I have met multiple people with the same first AND middle name as me. It *has* gotten confusing 😭
I was just talking about this the other day with my friends Sarah, Sara, Serrah, Serra, Saarah, Saara, Sarrah, Sarra, Cerrah, Cerra, and Michael Cera.
I watched this last night and havent laughed out loud at something this hard probably ever.
This video is so fucking excellent. While I love most all Drew’s videos, this one really exemplifies how talented and seriously funny he is.
Absolute banger, 10/10, grateful to have this treasure on TH-cam.
6:33 sounds SO MUCH like drew, even the cadence of it
Wait you're so accurate omg
Who’s Candace?
I was thinking that he reminds me of an older, slightly out of it drew
wrote this comment before finishing the video, didn’t realize he addresses it😭
He looks like Drew from an alternate universe. 😂
Drew's hair looks GREAT today
nah not really it needs more B L U E
greatly BAD am i right fellas?
Is this a bit? I haven't watched his videos in like a year.
@@Hulkman5000amazing, this is the joke to end all jokes

The book explanation was a fever dream.
i spaced out so hard
My name being Vanessa was the only thing that kept me engaged
I love the notes sticking out of the book. You can really tell he did a full deep dive
Drew reads one confusing book and suddenly becomes Brian David Gilbert
underrated comment
god this is a perfect description
bdg fans discover surreal humor
@@ronwapossibly, what do you mean?
@@asmodeuszdewa7194the guy in this video is self aware about the content he’s producing
The way you talk about this guy being funny and make a hilarious video about him without being mean or picking on him at all is so admirable. His response of thankfulness is a testemant to that. This video makes me so happy.
This is exactly why I love Drew’s content!!
this was one of my fav drew vids for that reason, it's just so fun
but he's super creepy though. he makes me very uncomfortable.
Hes gunna get caught for something bad, nothing good lasts on tik tok or instagram. Im sure we will have an accusation and chat log in the next year….
This man combined dad jokes and a shocking amount of neurodivergence and I'm kinda here for it
THATS why it’s so relatable!!
he is so neurodivergent 😭😭
P L E A SE THIS SENT ME INTO ORBIT
Oh that’s why I like him so much but a bunch of other people are talking about how weird he is lol
I don’t think he knows how to turn his camera off without the timer and I love him for that
You can tell Drew is a Kingdom Hearts fan because there is no way he would’ve been able to get through this book without that past lore trauma
is he actually??
@plut0n7um yes, he actually is!
@@raichouthepenguinThat explains Haley Joel Osment having an elaborate bit in another video.
that poor, poor person who had to read that audiobook 😭
i would be struggling not to laugh the whole time ☠
this made me want to find out how I can get into recording audio books
I thought it was read by an AI bot😅
yoooo cool night in the woods pfp!!!
Holy fuck a doodle destroyed me
At 10 minutes and 40 seconds I got up from where I was trying to fall asleep for a nap and immediately added this video to my favorites, before even finishing it. The entire whiteboard segment with all the character names had me wheezing on an otherwise very dull snow day. And I feel like this book was written just for a youtuber like Drew - basically his younger counterpart - to make such a video like this one, and that makes it all worth it.
where do you live
@@kylar-catearth, duh
@@tacos5682are you sure?
@@BluWoolify no 😔
@@BluWoolify yeah, got no WiFi in space, how would I be replying to you rn if I wasn’t on earth
That run-on sentence boosted my confidence as a writer. Thank you, Drew!
Bimbim on the couch just hanging out behind drew is everything
Typical cat just not giving two shits about your existential crisis…
Nathan is Drew 20 years from now, travelling back in time to bring joy to his younger self, and nothing can convince me otherwise.
Paul zimmer and troy becker but for real
But what movie will he bring with him?
dont you mean 3 years
nono clearly he is drews future son who has come back to try to get in touch with drew to prevent something awful from happening in the future and this was the only surefire way to get his attention
Okay but that plot breakdown with the whiteboard is a piece of art. That and the reveal of the world's longest run on sentence killed me 😂
The question about fish swimming actually had me stopping to contemplate life for awhile.
I asked my mother. When she realized I was genuinely waiting for an answer, we both started laughing
it was the third arm question that did it for me
It's a thinker.
I found this guy a while back and something necessary to add is that his videos didn’t used to have this much pause at the end, but people in the comments keep telling him to pause longer and he keeps extending it.
I love this
He pauses after his videos like he was planning on having credits roll
I was waiting for the Seinfeld bass lick
It’s like when a news reporter is waiting for the camera to switch to someone else 😂
Half way through your frantic breakdown of all the characters in Passion or Pancakes, and I actually started making predictions about random names that I thought would be included, and I was right about every one of them, including my own name.
Mine was in it, too, and I was so surprised! but I didn't guess any. I was waiting for my husband's much more common name to show up and it didn't :(
Passion and Pancakes contains every name that ever existed and every sentence ever written. It can be used as a divination text, like the I Ching.
Didn't expect a Blaine to be in there ngl
passion or pancakes sounds like a typical book named in the sims
Written by the same author as Love In The Time Of Sandwiches 😅
i’m so obsessed with his breakdown of the characters
Me too. I've made soooooo many other people watch that part... 😆
It reminds me of reading Stendhal's 'Le Rouge et le Noir' at university. What a Hero's Journey! Un roman à fleuve, if ever I saw one.
Me to idk why
Your stress melts away when you look at him, but it pools around me and gets in my shoes. I don't know where I was going with that but watching him makes me anxious.
same
Bro that was poetic
thats beautiful
This is like seeing a video form of the random texts my dad sends me. No context, just stuff he found interesting or funny. I kinda love the energy
Movies 😂
My dad has a smart phone, but he doesn't send those texts. He sends emails.
14:10 is literally that bojack quote from free churro lmao
“It was a couple hours later when I realized I was on a good run with my novel. I had this really interesting sentence that kept going for pages and pages, and I thought about how rare it is to really get in the groove like that…”
I remember the reason why he has such long pauses at the end is because his comment section would recommend he lengthen it to give them time to soak it in. I’m so glad he listened
"can you put your phone down this is important" fully snapped me out of my dissociative state against my will thanks drew

Im rambling but i dont understand why high schoolers have drama. Like your not getting paid for it. Come back when you have a tv show
He's actually kinda sweet and wholesome tbh.
I like that after Nathan drops his thought of the day he chooses not to cut the video there and just stares at you awkwardly. Truly an experience to be remembered.
Don’t forget the part when he plays music while he stares

My wattpad story was a warrior cats story. But I mean I am currently a teenager so maybe it’s still coming up

It also sounds like at some parts he may have been doing speech-to-text or something and it wasn't hearing him correctly? I don't know how else a sentence like "He hoped Holly was in a spanking." comes to fruition. 🤷🏻♀

Good Shout honestly
This or he is just a guy that somehow fried his brain to bits. Either way something is going on. I appreciate the silly jokes, but the staring concerns me.
I honestly think he might be psychotic and this all makes sense to him
I did immediately get the feeling he’s being held hostage somewhere
I think someone once told him he had a great smile when he laughs, and he's forced laughter ever since
