As a nanny, loved seeing Daddy Gonzalez speak out about the harm of AI kids content. The difference between kids I watch with and without youtube kids access is immeasurable. Children deserve good quality media that aids in development while also entertaining them, not this shit thats literally rotting their brains.
Too many people who make this kids content just see kids as a demographic they can earn money from. There's none of the thought that should be going into these kinds of edutainment efforts for developing kids like "Who is this for? What do we want them to learn from this? How should we make them feel." Its kids content being made by people who don't care about kids beyond the watchtime that they can give them.
I'm so glad we're reaching an era of youtube where content thievery is being called out by almost everyone. The biggest youtubers are all bashing these people. It's amazing.
When I was younger, little innocent me thought that in order to be a nightcore TH-camr, you had to be able to draw really good anime-style drawings, because I couldn’t fathom the concept that those TH-camrs were stealing artwork and using it as their song backgrounds without credit. If only people were so thoughtful.
i realized that somehow with children’s content, the emotional emptiness is more evident than with any other genre. it’s significantly easier to tell when media for kids was made with love and care and passion, and when it wasn’t. i’d be interested to know if anyone has explored why it’s such a stark difference.
@@chiefofthesky My theory; It's really easy to make something that you can call "Kid's content" in all forms of media. Kids aren't often very critical about things, certainly not to the degree adults are, nor are they very aware of what makes something quality, or what makes something lack quality. They also don't have as much of a frame of reference as older people who have seen more things and can therefore distinguish better what is good and what is not. It's also just a fact that even high quality kids content is very simple. While many kids are definitely more capable than adults give them credit for, it is also true that keeping things simple, especially the younger they are, just makes things a lot less frustrating for everyone involved. Like when I was a kid, I enjoyed the Jungle Book (the animated movie). I also loved to read, so I tried to read the ACTUAL Jungle Book. It was infuriating to me, it was way more complicated than I felt it needed to be. Look at children's books, you know. Even the ones we look back on fondly... I mean, really, anyone could have written most of them. Simple language, short sentences, silly premises. It's REALLY easy to entertain kids, especially younger ones. Shitty people recognize this and use it to their benefit. You COULD make a very high quality show with in depth writing, important lessons, fun and educational content, etc. Or... you could make some crude 3d models of generic but friendly looking characters, play a funny jingle over it and tell some fart jokes, and booom-you have now grabbed the attention of hundreds of children. Sure, they're not gaining anything of value... but the funny voices are all they need to keep watching the screen, putting money into your pocket. And nowadays with kids being allowed to run rampant on the internet without supervision, there's often times no adult standing next to them to say "Hey, this content is mindless or even downright inappropriate!" and point them in a better direction while doing something active against (like reporting) said inappropriate content, so it's really easy to get that stuff in front of kids and just.. keep it there.
Greg that’s my comment on the Brent Rivera copy video. When I saw my humble name was literally part of Danny’s video I knew my life had changed forever. I am famous now. I will be starting a podcast and using this to launch my content career. Thank you Danny ❤

I hate how that guy called stealing content "starting his shift". Like I don't care how much effort you put into videos, calling it a "shift" seems really weird. You could do that at literally any point in the day, it's not like you have to clock in at a specific time. I'm not gonna say "aw man I gotta go to school" and then log onto Canvas y'know
Aside from this situation of stealing content, a creator who spends time creating original content for income *is* working. I personally disagree with the idea that simply because it is not a traditional 9-5 'shift', there is a lack of "legitimate work" being done. This *is* work (again, aside from this situation of stealing content).
@themrmoustacheman oh I know, it's definitely still work(if you're not stealing lol). I'm just talking from an etymological perspective. If you can do it at any time and you don't have to work for a specific length, don't call it a shift
I admire how Danny's going off on Tik Tokers stealing (their own) content, and then he pulls the ultimate boss move and steals his own content from his second channel
oh my GOD i swear i was like i have definitely heard nearly word for word same commentary in the past but couldn't figure out who or when edit: clearly i wasn't paying attention bc he literally says it's a repeat from 2 danny 🙄
In regards to the personality copying/algorithm discussion, the frustrating thing I've noticed about getting started on TH-cam is that yes, those trends DO matter. Its frustrating as a smaller creator, because it feels like you're forced to make the same videos as everyone else. I like to make Minecraft content (All my old content is currently unlisted) and it genuinely feels like you can't get anywhere if you don't make the same 100 Days slop or whatever else every other content creator on the platform is putting out. I fear the algorithm is the death of creativity.
it's disturbing (but not surprising) that Brent will steal content until he's blue in the face but if sees anyone do anything _remotely_ similar he'll get borderline violently confrontational.

@@itsgonnabeanaurfrommebut danny isn’t going around copying other people’s videos..? is he not allowed to complain about people copying just bc he’s popular?
As someone with OCD, it makes me so irritated that Brent copied Rhett and Link’s music and video. They made that video because Rhett’s wife has OCD. Sure, it’s a stereotypical representation, but it’s well done and they did it because of the lived experience of someone close to them. Brent blatantly copying it for clout destroys any kind of real meaning behind the song and commodifies OCD for profit.
rhett and link were making fun of people who say "i'm so ocd!!" because their pencils arent in colour order or something dumb like that, people who dont actually have ocd, basically. but ye, i agree
I just went to watch both videos, having never seen either of them. I have OCD too, which doesn't always present as a feeling that things are out of place, but it can. It doesn't bother me that much when people make OCD-related jokes; I don't really like it either, but there are many, much worse things to make jokes about. Rhett & Link's video did at first come across a little weird, considering the only joke seemed to be "a guy with OCD is upset" - at least until the punchline at the end, where it turns out that Link actually enjoyed fixing everything, which I thought was cute. Brent's video I wouldn't have clocked was even about OCD until he said "it's just my OCD." Most of the things that were bothering him in that video seemed like things that would bother a lot of people. I guess he's just so used to copying everything that he had to copy that too lol
I also have OCD and am a big fan of Rhett and Link (their GMM ep on OCD was what introduced them to me, actually). I still don’t love the music video; it’s a play on the unhelpful “I’m so OCD” joke, and just because Rhett’s wife has OCD and they asked her about it before posting doesn’t really make that different. But I do appreciate that they took the time to not only put that disclaimer in their description but also a GMM ep discussing what OCD is and isn’t following the release of the music video.
I love how she thought "Now let's do the actual effort to make the song by playing an instrument and singing" was a good joke, and not highlighting how little they actually do in the creative process. Specifically: None of it.
The fact it’s a video for small KIDS who often get a good amount of their development from the content they consume *that has 0 effort* is genuinely sad.
Really some people are so quick to call content creators and creatives in general "parasites" but look away when NFT bros, Crypto shills and AI chuds make gross amounts of money by doing the most absolute definition of nothing.
THANK YOU DANNY!!! For making this video - this isn’t talked about enough and REAL creators really need to start taking a stand against thieves and POS that do all this crap. ❤
Nah, if you were that type of person you'd just ignore it without feeling even the slightest bit of discomfort or you'd see it as a weird kind of recognition.
okay my argument for AI is that if no one was bothered to create this thing (either a song, an essay, or a painting, etc.) then why should I be bothered to interact with it. Like if you couldn't take the time and energy needed to actually do it, then why should I be obligated to give you my time and energy to appreciate it
I hated the AI tutorial lady joking about paying musicians and choirs to make the kid’s song, like yeah how old fashioned it is to pay real musicians for their craft 😐 we don’t make enough money as it is bruh wtf
literally that joke was so tasteless and uncharismatic. she really thinks actually being passionate about something, having integrity and putting effort into what you make is a joke. such a deeply unpleasant person
@@cornbone wasn't a joke, i'm a musician who has played live and made music on the side, sure it's impressive but doesn't deserve any type of compensation outside of live gigs and merch sales. it inst as difficult as a 9-5. Artists aren't getting low pay, they are getting exactly the pay they deserve.
Honestly love that even in a challenge where Danny was intentionally, as a criticism, stealing content beat for beat he STILL was using his own sense of humor and creative flare. It’s like he can’t help but be genuinely creative and I think that speaks volumes about him as a creator
On the same unrelated topic, i also have the blue highlight with the little magnifiying glass on various comments. I have resolutely not clicked it, but it seems like it's trying to find things that are searchable like certain phrases or more complex words or full names (like for an actor or politician), so i feel like it's a search feature if you're too lazy to copy the text into google and see what it returns. I do not like it, and thankfully it goes away when i view the replies of the comment. I once saw one highlight the words "brain rot". This started like 2 days ago for me
I think this is one of the reasons why Danny's "stolen" tiktoks were more successful. Even if he stole the content (for the challenge), it's funny because he knows how to actually make it work and be funnier.
everyone suspected the tiktoks to be a part of the video but i never suspected the second channel video to be a part of the video. literally danny always gets us when we least expect it.

Jokes aside, that message at the end is really great for any aspiring creator. Do this because you like doing it, not because you think it'll make you rich. If you make bank doing it, then cool, you can make it a career, but it should be something you feel fulfilled doing.
The funniest part is that Gordon Ramsay is most definitely NOT FaceTiming Brent at 26:35. Brent is using an iPhone without a home button but the video is cropped to 16:9 and has black bars. FaceTime doesn't crop when you hold it in portrait, meaning that Brent either paid him for a Cameo which would be very funny and rather sad, or they arranged for him to send a prerecorded video. Either way he's a liar AND a thief.
The flip off one isn't shocking. I guess they're going for humor via relatability, which is hit or miss. The prop gun is a diversion of expectations and therefore funny

What weirds me out abt so many of these kinds of youtubers and tiktokers is how open they are abt their scummy tactics, as if they think their actions are admirable solely by virtue of making money
It makes me so sad how Gen. Z and some Millennials can immediately recognize a video based on how bad it is. I hate that I can know look at something and immediately recognize "Oh that's rage bait, A.I., or brainrot." It's invaded every part of life. I always check on my baby brother and sister when they're watching cartoons because I have to switch away from brainrot or bad lessons. I have to gently explain to my Mom that the images she's seeing is A.I. NOT a real house being sold for a suspiciously low amount. Or having to talk my younger sister down from a panic attack because she saw a ragebait video out of nowhere. It disgusts me that laws are so behind in the digital world to the point the Internet is just a wasteland.
How come when you say you’re going to pursue a career in the arts people discourage you and act like it’s not possible to support yourself from that but as soon as you use ai, content theft, or scammy tactics to make extremely subpar art suddenly they act like it’s extremely lucrative and you’re a business genius
Its because the ai content thief scammer can do all of that in their free time while the artist has to devote time and effort to a craft to be successful in persuing it as a career.
@@dogbot55 yeah but like let’s say you can make 30 ai drawings in the same time it takes a real artist to make one good real drawing, people don’t like ai art as much so the engagement you’ll get for 30 crappy ai arts is likely less than the engagement you’d get from one good real art so you might as well spend your time making art normally. Plus ai art is of dubious legality and therefore not a good thing to base your career off. It also doesn’t build any skills so you are left with zero transferable skills if it doesn’t work out for you unlike real art which can be applied to many fields. Plus any given person can make it for free just as easily so no one who is pro ai art is likely to pay you for using your ai art rather than just typing some keywords into the ai generator themselves to make something similar for free.
A few years ago I made a video that I worked really hard on. For some reason, one particular clip of it (not even a very funny part) went super crazy viral on tiktok, and from there I had friends message me with various links saying "hey is this your video?" It's happened at least 10 times now and every single time they had millions of views and hundreds of thousands likes, and my original video here on TH-cam got 10,000 views. I hope they all shit their pants.
And tiktok views doesn’t pay well at all, idk why they obsess so much over something so stupid. Probably to demand more money from sponsors who pay their bills? Even shorts on yt revenue is a pittance vs. the same amount of views on a long form video.
I love your content so much, Danny! I remember watching you as a kid in middle school and now you're 30 with a kid. Your videos never fail to make me laugh. Have a wonderful rest of the year lol. :D

We're entering the most boring dystopia. "Unalive" censorship, impossibly lazy content theft, and AI generated slop (plus glamorization) is seriously just the lamest direction I couldn't have predicted the internet going in.

Its also insane that Brent Rivera tried to copy Rhett and Link's iconic OCD song thinking no one would notice, and the audacity he has to post that song which copied large portions of the original conception of the song is insane. Well, it isn't the song word for word, the bits in the video that Danny pointed out that Brent copied for sure, and the fact he clearly just slightly reworded the original disclaimer that Rhett and Link had shows that he thought he could just loosely copy the concept of the song and then change the lyrics and call it a day without thinking people would notice.
I’m a new teacher and recently they required everyone to attend a meeting where they told everyone how they should be using AI in the classroom. They showed off that Suno music making site to the entire school district and played this AWFUL song about how teachers have the most important job in the world. As a music producer and music teacher I was just seething in my chair. Then the person who runs the choir with me decided to use it to make a song to sing with the choir. Now all the teachers are using it because they think it’s so cool and it just makes me depressed. I physically cannot describe how shitty and soul-less everything that comes out of that site sounds. None of them understand how angry it makes me as a professional musician to watch them type some words into the computer and watch a horribly written & fully produced song pop out in seconds. Makes my blood boil and now they’ve got the entire school district using it.
Wow dude-that’s awful. I just graduated with my degree in music, and although I don’t want to teach, I can’t imagine how terrible it feels to have all your hard work negated like that. It sucks so much that your district is overlooking your profession for the sake of dumb AI trends. Nothing they can ever do will match up to choir music by real people tho, and I’m sure the kids will like what you pick and teach much better, too. I’m sure I’m just preaching to the choir lol, but I empathize with you, and you got this 😊
I feel you. That's the frustration I feel when people generate "art" just because it's cool. I have a passion for drawing, and seeing the soulless mish-mash of stolen artworks boils my blood. Is there _any_ artwork at all that was giving consent to be used to train the AI??
I work at an elementary school as well, and we *just* had a workshop where almost the exact same thing happened. The presenter was basically like, "AI is inevitable and resistance is futile, so here is how to use it in everything you do." The examples he gave was for things like emails to parents and progress reports! Those are both things that need a careful hand and a personalized message! As a writer, it made me actually sick to my stomach to see all the teachers around me ooo-ing and ah-ing over all the functions of the bot our school had partnered with...
I appreciate the scene and costume changes that people have been doing (Danny, FunkyFrogBait, etc) to keep long form content engaging bc I want to watch longer videos but my attention span is still recovering from doomscrolling for eons
The important thing to mention with AI is, not only is their carbon footprint massive, the work they make is ripped straight from other artists on the web with no compensation or even acknowledgment. DO NOT USE AI. It’s not worth it, it will NEVER be worth it.
where is the beauty in art when its "creator" didn't care enough to actually make it? sure, ai could make some cool looking shit, but I'd rather something I can connect to on a human level than something churned out by a robot with no emotion nor care put into it.

The OCD song feels so gross to me. I have OCD and even if I don't like Rhett and Link's song personally cause it's stereotypical, I can at least appreciate it because Rhett's wife has OCD so it's not like it was made in disrespect. And some other OCD havers don't mind it either. But then Brent comes in and just. Fully remakes the song. Because it was popular. And I can't say if he has or doesn't have OCD. But considering his main goal was, you know, taking the song from Rhett and Link, it's feel so gross. Like. It just comes off as extra gross considering OCD already has a reputation of being mocked and seen as "haha silly perfection disorder" online and treated as like "im SO ocd" which just...is so disrespectful and ableist. So for Brent to basically take the song with most like 0 understanding of OCD or even someone with it feels so extra gross to me. Not to mention it's just...straight copied. That is awful. How low do you have to go, Brent? What is your problem? Edit: Even the disclaimer feels hollow coming from Brent. Like he just put it in cause Rhett and Link did. Like it feels just like full on mocking in Brent's. Just check off all the notes to avoid and issue. Edit 2: And thank you repliers for mentioning the stereotypical part of Rhett and Link's song is to poke fun at people that say stuff like that. I did not know that as I have never really cared about Rhett and Link or ever really seen the song. But useful info. I did a bit of looking into what people thought of it before I commented, but just wanted to add this in an edit for people that may not read comment replies. So like. I can respect Rhett and Link's song. And I doubt Brent did any of that much thinking going into it. Just took it without a second thought and put in the disclaimer cause they did it. Absolutely shameless.
i mean to be fair, rhett and links song is stereotypical because its intention is to poke fun of people who like you said, throw around OCD as some silly unserious jokey mental health term. But i completely agree w everything
iirc rhett and link’s song is actually intended to poke fun at people who say they have OCD because they like stuff to be clean or orderly, not people who actually have OCD
Feels similar, in a way, to how neurodivergent/autism in-jokes poking fun at themselves became more popular and then started being used as straight up insults. When someone is “laughing with you” from a place of camaraderie, it’s just a totally different vibe than someone making a joke because they think it’ll get them attention / it’s trendy, but they’ve taken no time to understand the community or to empathize. They still have all of those biases.
35:13 I was listening to Danny’s video while playing some random ass game, and honestly, I was snapped out of my trance by the sound of Danny speaking in brainrot. Like, I had to do a double take making sure I was hearing things right.
It’s weird how Brent has evolved backwards. Instead of starting out taking inspiration, to then create a recognizable image and entertainment people specifically would want from him, he was a teen with original content, to a lazy adult😭

I’m going to ethically ask you to give me everything you own including your firstborn son
Or how I ethically steal jokes. Similar to when I ethically go to a bank with a fully loaded handgun and politely ask for $500,000 but I say please so It negates the negative effects.
I suspect ethical stealing is why all the ethnic hair care products have to be behind lock and key in Oakland.
Or ethical ATM withdrawals, by writing checks to yourself.
The biggest issue with content theft is actually the platforms themselves allowing it. They actually don't care for creators at all, only profits
How should we make them feel."
Its kids content being made by people who don't care about kids beyond the watchtime that they can give them.
Also a nanny, and it’s crazy how when my kids will find a way to get into “adult” TH-cam, I prefer it over what they watch on TH-cam Kids.

Children’s content always feels so… off. Even before AI was a thing.
Might be the only area where network tv actually beats streaming/TH-cam content
i realized that somehow with children’s content, the emotional emptiness is more evident than with any other genre. it’s significantly easier to tell when media for kids was made with love and care and passion, and when it wasn’t. i’d be interested to know if anyone has explored why it’s such a stark difference.
A lot of children’s content is low quality fetish slop, it’s really gross
At least PBS, Nick Jr, and Disney actually used the work of artists instead of using a shitty content blending machine

This *is* work (again, aside from this situation of stealing content).
@themrmoustacheman oh I know, it's definitely still work(if you're not stealing lol). I'm just talking from an etymological perspective. If you can do it at any time and you don't have to work for a specific length, don't call it a shift

Every man named Brent I have ever known or known of (even as fictional characters) have always been worthless pieces of shit.
thats weird. its super stereotypical and having OCD doesn't let you speak for everyone else with OCD either- clearly other OCDers feel like me
I also have OCD and am a big fan of Rhett and Link (their GMM ep on OCD was what introduced them to me, actually).
Thank you Danny I was getting tired of watching your old videos

How come when you say you’re going to pursue a career in the arts people discourage you and act like it’s not possible to support yourself from that but as soon as you use ai, content theft, or scammy tactics to make extremely subpar art suddenly they act like it’s extremely lucrative and you’re a business genius
Because soulless capitalists hate genuine art and expression
because you making art takes months for 1 piece that might not sell, these guy generate 500 crappy pictures in a day and something is bound to stick
When someone tells me they use ai i immediately jump to assuming they are just a stupid person.
For some reason, one particular clip of it (not even a very funny part) went super crazy viral on tiktok, and from there I had friends message me with various links saying "hey is this your video?" We're entering the most boring dystopia. "Unalive" censorship, impossibly lazy content theft, and AI generated slop (plus glamorization) is seriously just the lamest direction I couldn't have predicted the internet going in.
if i see someone say "unalive" again then i'm unaliving myself
@@halfsineit's especially obnoxious in the comment sections of true crime videos. they censor themselves with like, cockney rhyming slang. if you can't say what the criminal in the video does, then maybe you're too young to be watching it
My personal favourite alternative to "unalive" is "expire"; still somewhat of a euphemism for death, but a lot less goofy-sounding
i love when they pretend you can't say "die" or "death" or "suicide". like, you can. i have seen it. they act like third graders whispering "you're such a B" underneath their breath because they don't want the teacher to hear.
are there still people out there that don’t understand the unalive euphemisms used a censorship deterrent?
Jesus how much did they get paid to do that, I wonder
I work at an elementary school as well, and we *just* had a workshop where almost the exact same thing happened. The presenter was basically like, "AI is inevitable and resistance is futile, so here is how to use it in everything you do." The examples he gave was for things like emails to parents and progress reports! Those are both things that need a careful hand and a personalized message! As a writer, it made me actually sick to my stomach to see all the teachers around me ooo-ing and ah-ing over all the functions of the bot our school had partnered with...
I just started studying teaching, i look to the future less hopeful now 😭

The important thing to mention with AI is, not only is their carbon footprint massive, the work they make is ripped straight from other artists on the web with no compensation or even acknowledgment. DO NOT USE AI. It’s not worth it, it will NEVER be worth it.
This, plus Ai is just soulless. I'd rather buy a humam drawn atick figure for 10 dollars than to get gifted an Ai Image.
Ai will be massive in the future for art. And fantastic art will be made using ai while you moralize about it
where is the beauty in art when its "creator" didn't care enough to actually make it? sure, ai could make some cool looking shit, but I'd rather something I can connect to on a human level than something churned out by a robot with no emotion nor care put into it.
@@luftballonzz I agree but it will have amazing utility in art forms like music or 3d modeling where the tech gets in the way of creativity. Just like any new technology it will have pros and cons in art but I think the top 1% of art will use it to great effect

But i completely agree w everything
god forbid we laugh at ourselves
iirc rhett and link’s song is actually intended to poke fun at people who say they have OCD because they like stuff to be clean or orderly, not people who actually have OCD
@@thechaddingo2677 me when i dont read the comment im replying to
Feels similar, in a way, to how neurodivergent/autism in-jokes poking fun at themselves became more popular and then started being used as straight up insults. When someone is “laughing with you” from a place of camaraderie, it’s just a totally different vibe than someone making a joke because they think it’ll get them attention / it’s trendy, but they’ve taken no time to understand the community or to empathize. They still have all of those biases.

It’s weird how Brent has evolved backwards. Instead of starting out taking inspiration, to then create a recognizable image and entertainment people specifically would want from him, he was a teen with original content, to a lazy adult😭
He started working smarter not harder
@@Bigman-ff6eoto quote a comment on this video by @ravenclawesome9093 “they (content creators who openly steal) think their actions are admirable solely by virtue of making money” so yes he is working “smarter” at making money. But it’s still theft, money isn’t the most important thing. Even if it was by stealing ideas he is still stealing views and therefore money from smaller creators.

omg yes i've been eating it up !
How do these copycats even enjoy life when they clearly don't have a single original thought in their brain? It would be fine if they used someone else's idea and then put their own twist on it, but they're not even capable of doing that. When you look into their eyes, you see nothing.
