I say don't remove the pump. I did mix the gas. But on the pump side I disconnect the cable to the pump so the pump would only supply a small amount of oil to the barring and the Carburetor. The bike ran good. Keep the oil tank full of 2 stroke oil.
What oil do you run in your bike? I am highly considering buying one and would like to know. I am not sure if the oil injection works but could I pre mix the fuel as well? Thank you!

So does that mean I can't take the oil tank and oil pump off the bike and just use pre-mix? Thanks, Rick
