    It has been morning lovely time on the mat and begin to ask myself how I feel today. Finally I understand how important to feel that my body changes every day. I see birds walk with weight transferring. I was moved ladies are carrying dead persons in the dried tree on the head and walk with weight transferring to Ganges, beautiful movement of weight transferring!

      World knows, but certainly not as much as it is needed. I guess that one thing that presents feldenkrais from spreading it's not the time it takes to learn the twchnique for ATM (groups) and then the FI (1 to 1) but the price of the courses. Around 18,000 USD plus your expensas durante your 3-4 year training: hotel, plane tickets, meals. Few people can afford that, as well as having a job that allows you from being absent during your training periods

    Hellow Stewart, I am still around doing your lessons daily, I chose this one, and happy knees,
    From that knarly Ness, and that klankiness, I am unfolding, restructuring, I had tried everything, and it is amazing, the change, the solace of hope and improvement. One of the things for instance was that when I layed down on the floor my fusion zone was a protuberant knot, I am laying now, and my back feels all evenly spread, still have some issues, with bicep tendonitis, but everything has improved 60 percent. Well, I'm back to these movements, but this time I am going to use them to try to fix my thoracic spine, which is twisted to the right, and causing instability on my upper cervical. • @stewarthamblin

      I do it all the time Anna in my Orange Ball workshops: here's a review from a student "I love the brilliance of Stewart's ball workshop. The balls give great feedback and a much needed release of the sacrum while teaching the fine mechanics of pelvic movement.
      As a yoga therapist I'm always looking at ways to release my own often tight hips and his way of incorporating Feldenkrais and fascial release is just beautiful. Additionally Stewart's sense of humor and kind heartedness is a bonus!"

Thank you Stewart great class, super interesting. How did Moshe came with all this movements? Divine inspiration?

    Thanks, that was a really great one. I've done lessons a bit like this before, but I had a really severe anterior pelvic tilt for a very long time that was hugely getting in the way of my habits, chiefly on the right side. I don't think I've had a chance to really feel these types of things properly on that side before, as the habit had been so strong.
    The points about sucking in the stomach rather than just using the legs was especially useful here. Going to the right I'd always found it close to impossible to get a sense of anything close to a semicircle on the clock. I think sucking the stomach in is a really vital thing for me to get that sense of the curve.
    One slightly strange observation BTW, which might sound like an awful result after a Feldenkrais lesson, but I'm sure is genuinely good- by the end my right shoulder was feeling a bit like it had been tenderised like a steak! I'm not talking about aches from strain, but from simply being massaged against the floor. My right shoulder is generally hugely held forward by tightness in various ribs and hardly ever gets to sit against the floor properly. I don't think my ribs had ever let go enough for some of the flesh to bear weight like that. I'll definitely have to come back to this one again, as it seems to target all of the issues I need to resolve.

    • @stewarthamblin
      @stewarthamblin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you so much for taking the time to write. It was a lovely lesson to teach and do. I think what you are experiencing in the shoulder is really interesting. Feldenkrais often used a technique of reversing habitual patterns of use. In day to day life for example the usual pattern is to move the shoulder blade around the ribs. In this lesson though the shoulder blade is 'fixed' into the floor but we are moving the ribs around the shoulder blade meaning that the holding patterns are often being challenged to change. He was such a clever man.

    You really are amazing, because your variations and explanations are fabulous. I have the same patterns as you do. What, besides feldenkrais, like in strength training, do you do to help balance out these terrible habit patterns? Also, I realized my right lats are super tight. Is this a good lesson for those as well or are there more specific lessons for that?

    • @stewarthamblin
      @stewarthamblin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andrea, thank you very much. I think this is an excellent lesson for the lats. Any lesson which changes the back will help to change the lats. Also any lesson that focuses of the pelvis, arms and shoulders. I just put a video on my Fit Sit series called Free the Shoulders. You might like to try that. In terms of other training I use a very cheap exercise bike that I have in my garage for cardio work and I also do resistance work using bands (I should do a video!). I try not to do them as exercises though but applying my Feldenkrais approach. I think it is important to build resistance work into our routines particularly as we age to combat the sarcopenia that would otherwise occur. Have a lovely weekend.
