@@melvinthinks Geoff posted today that they are all okay after the hurricane. He even still has electricity but not all of the VP guys do. I'm thinking they probably won't do the YT premiere until they can join the premiere chat, as they usually do. Time will tell.
@@melvinthinks Oh, oh, oh! VoicePlay just posted the countdown for their TH-cam Premiere for their cover of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" tomorrow! th-cam.com/video/huzfeciRvw4/w-d-xo.html
Do consider Warriors (Imagine Dragons) followed by Seven Nation Army (White Stripes). Warriors was the first of the post-apocalyptic trilogy, followed by Dream On and then Seven Nation Army. Each of them have that grunge feel for the post-apocalyptic era. As far as buildings go, Warriors was filmed in a old factory, Dream On was Eli's (bald tenor with Rock God voice) abandoned high school, Seven Nation Army is in an abadoned store. The trilogy was done before Earl left the group after 23 yrs, and J None also left a yr later because the US Navy recruited him for his vocal talents. So VoicePlay auditioned Cesar (you'll see in both Dream On and Seven Nation Army - wears a mohawk) who's really good with both baritone (J None) and tenor (Earl) leaving 1 empty place that VoicePlay can fill from the amazing talent in Orlando (think theme parks) to suit what they want their video to become. Geoff's most recent solos (not acapella) are Imagine, Song of Durin, and Be Prepared. I swear Layne learned how to swallow a helicopter in this one.
Love this version, they did an awesome job. Omar Cardona has worked with them a bunch of times. Layne's beatboxing and sound effects are very cool, and add just as much as Geoff does. VoicePlay are also big on Halloween, a rather large playlist for it. So , to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, a seasonal song and exploring Geoff's range, recommend their cover "Oogie Boogie Song" from A Nightmare Before Christmas. Also Geoff's solo cover of "Monster Mash". "7 Nation Army" cover is good too for a non Halloween song.
Yep, if you want to hear more of Geoff's range, listen to his newest release, "Song of Durin" from the LOTR (book). Love the tenor solo near the end of that one. Geoff and Layne (VoicePlay's remaining founding members) have been singing together since middle school. Geoff's father-in-law was their music teacher for high school show choir.
@@melvinthinks It sounds like may be partially Layne's "fault" that Geoff is a professional singer today. Geoff has said that he wasn't planning to continue in show choir into high school. He talked about it in an online interview with a reactor. His piano teacher had convinced him to join the high school band. But, Layne talked him into high school show choir instead. Cool, huh!
@@melvinthinks Layne told the patrons in one of their online chats a while back that he doesn't feel like he needs to find time away from work to get together with his friends, because he does that AT work.
@DTA-Music Some of the best perks are Kathy's BTS videos and their monthly live chats. You can tell that they are all truly friends and treat each other (and their families) like family.
0:40 "Hopefully, Geoff doesn't scare the sh*t out of me again" [me 😆, knowing that Geoff is going to literally spring out from the doorway at you 50 seconds later]
there are very few videos where Geoff doesn't scare the crap out of people, and they're usually the ones where he still leaves you wondering how in the hell it's possible for him to sing like that.
@melvinthinks VoicePlay is being considered for 2025 Grammy nomination in two categories for this one. It's a big deal for indie artists to be considered. This one is Geoff's project and uploaded in July.
Still can't believe VP can make these iconic rock songs sound so good without instruments. If you are doing more VP, I down with that. Seven Nation Army, then Valhalla Calling, then Hoist the Colors. MAGIC!
How about their cover of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. This cover by Voice Play is what prompted the band Chicago to have them come sing with them when they did a concert in Atlantic City last November.
You might try "Creep". It has a guest who's voice might make you cry. It also has the mirrors you crave. Or, "In the Air Tonight", and see if Layne can manage the Phil Collins drums. This being near Halloween, you might listen to Geoff's "Ain't No Sunshine". Don't fret of your crush. Everyone has the same reaction.
Your reaction to Laynes insane beatboxing made me laugh. You should check out their Metallica cover of Nothing else matters or Phil Collins' In the air tonight. But whatever you choose it will hit you. Even the softer songs as True colors or i can't make you love me which is completely without beatboxing but Layne singing. He has an adorable voice, too. Have fun❤
I quite enjoyed that. I'm used to metal bands covering boy bands not boy bands covering rock/metal. I have request, not to you but to Voiceplay, do you do any Lorna Shore?
7 nation army is another phenomenal cover by them... again, it's in a dilapidated building as it's part of the post apocalyptic trilogy which also includes Warriors by imagine dragons. Vp never does a copy and paste cover. They will always respect the original but totally leave you knowing you've listened to Vp's version. .. one I would also recommend is their version of creep... xx 🏴
I have never been a big fan of the original song. Part of it is my age, and the other is it’s just not my kind of musical genre generally. The one thing I always appreciate about their renditions is that the lyrics come through loud and clear. I just thought of this as that kind of noisy song with dream on screamed at the end. But the lyrics are really quite introspective and I like this take on it. This is the middle of their post apocalyptic trilogy. The story, most likely created by us fans, is that at the end of Warriors , zombies came and took Earl and J. The surviving members of the group found Cesar and Omar wandering around. (Omar is Cesar‘s best friend and occasional roommate as well.) After that we lost Omar sadly and Seven Nation Army features Anthony Gargiula who they picked up among their travels. 😊 I know it isn’t hard rock, but one of my favorite rock covers they did was one of the first I viewed, Carry On Wayward Son originally by Kansas. If you are a gamer, I suggest you check out some of their game themes. Omar also appears with them in one of my favorites, Dragonborn/Skyrim
I'd suggest you save 7 Nation Army for later (unless you've already done it of course) as it's very much in the same vein as Dream On. To get a good sense of the versatility of this group, try one of the full-on theatrical videos, like Dragonborn Comes or Oogie Boogie song, then one of their medleys, like Wicked or Friends on the Other Side, or something playful like Bang! (one of my personal favorites). You can't really go wrong, though, no matter what you pick. And don't forget the Geoff Castellucci solo channel! If you want to pursue your man crush, start with 16 Tons.
Saw you did a Post Modern Jukebox video (haven't checked it out yet, but I will when I'm not headed to bed). Thought I'd let you know, they do a cover of this as well. It is also interesting.
Whelp, that's cringe. I looked back through. It was Angelina Jordan's " I Put a Spell on You." The thumbnail looked like PMJ to my old decrepit eyes. Lol. I subbed anyway and will check out more of your sudden when it isn't 5 am.😂
I’m not going to disagree with your choice to do “Seven Nation Army” next. After all it is one of my faves of theirs. But I am going to send you ‘love’ anyways. Even though I don’t disagree. Subscribing.
I was chatting with a viewer the other day who said a similar thing, and when I said "But I'm not really a gamer" they told me it didn't matter. Halo and Valhalla Calling is another one isn't it? The latter has come up quite a lot in recommendations. So much stuff to pick from!
As I've said before and will continue to say I also have a huge crush on Geoff and Eli. If you really want your floors to rumble, I highly suggest the Halo theme song. Its a longer video but you should definitely watch the whole thing. LOVE your reactions. New subscriber!

Home Frees Cover of Johnny Cashs Folsom Prison Blues is outstanding, what Tim does at the end is beyond human! But for now, enjoy whatever you listen to 🙂
There's SOOOOO MUCH MUSIC OUT THERE!!! 🤣 I need to retire so I can do this full-time and play catch up!
Have you heard Peter Holland and Tim Faust doing “Misty Mountains” oh lord that drop at the end 😮
@@morgonerlenstar yeah Buddy, that last Note shook every single of the 206 Bones inside my body. And made me have one bone more!
You can’t go wrong with ANY VP song. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
Two tracks down, and how many to go? 😁
@@melvinthinks uhm … how much sleep do you need? 🤭🤭🤭 It is a deep twisting rabbit hole, but sooooooo fun.
I've had a blast so far and can't wait for the next one 🤗
@@melvinthinks 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for another reaction to VoicePlay! Watch for their Halloween video which should be dropping soon.
Imagine I'm doing an evil, Dracula-type laugh here. Cheers buddy! 😁
@@melvinthinks Geoff posted today that they are all okay after the hurricane. He even still has electricity but not all of the VP guys do. I'm thinking they probably won't do the YT premiere until they can join the premiere chat, as they usually do. Time will tell.
Sending my love to everyone during the storm 🙏
We are all so very glad to hear that they are all ok.
@@melvinthinks Oh, oh, oh! VoicePlay just posted the countdown for their TH-cam Premiere for their cover of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" tomorrow! th-cam.com/video/huzfeciRvw4/w-d-xo.html
I love VoicePlay and def enjoy watching ppl react to it
And I love people that love watching people react to VoicePlay. If they didn't. It would just be me and zero views 😁
"I swear Layne learned how to swallow a helicopter in this one." 🤣
Love this version, they did an awesome job. Omar Cardona has worked with them a bunch of times. Layne's beatboxing and sound effects are very cool, and add just as much as Geoff does.
VoicePlay are also big on Halloween, a rather large playlist for it. So , to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, a seasonal song and exploring Geoff's range, recommend their cover "Oogie Boogie Song" from A Nightmare Before Christmas. Also Geoff's solo cover of "Monster Mash". "7 Nation Army" cover is good too for a non Halloween song.
I'm gonna have to try and time this Halloween thing, aren't I? 😱
@@melvinthinks Yep. LOL
@@melvinthinksoh yes, definitely oogie boogie to hear some of Geoff vocal range. And definitely look at some of there Halloween songs
Omar Cardona is also featured in their video for Superstition sound just as great.
He's in dragonborn too. And a few more
He's really good. They all are, to be fair!
I love that they are genuinely pals and haven't been manufactured by some music mogul 👍
Cheers for this info dude!
0:40 "Hopefully, Geoff doesn't scare the sh*t out of me again" [me 😆, knowing that Geoff is going to literally spring out from the doorway at you 50 seconds later]
You can never mentally prepare for him!
It was recorded in the former Highschool of Elij Jacobson. they had to ve VERY careful.
Elmar from Germany
Because if they made a mess, they got detention.
I didn't realize this was in Eli's former High School! Very cool!😊
@@LoriPeace As a Patreon they tell us a lot of background to their songs.
@@elmarwinkler6335 Yeah, I'm a patron -- I need to dig more into the BTS videos.
If no one has mentioned it yet: tomorrow VoicePlay drops Thriller for Halloween - and it's WONDERFUL!

Ahhhh - they makes sense now. I thought some of you were psychic or witches 😉
@@melvinthinks Well.......
there are very few videos where Geoff doesn't scare the crap out of people, and they're usually the ones where he still leaves you wondering how in the hell it's possible for him to sing like that.
😁😆🤣👍
With spooky season upon us any of their Halloween songs are perfect
👻👻👻
You could try Voiceplays "the way you make me feel "
Honestly... I could try anything and I'm pretty sure I'd have a great time!
@melvinthinks VoicePlay is being considered for 2025 Grammy nomination in two categories for this one. It's a big deal for indie artists to be considered. This one is Geoff's project and uploaded in July.
That's fab!
Go for whichever Voiceplay song catches your fancy. We will be there too.
All of them? 😁
You make me laugh. That’s a good thing. ❤
I don't think I could be 100% serious and not have an element of either sarcasm or humour for an entire video!
Still can't believe VP can make these iconic rock songs sound so good without instruments. If you are doing more VP, I down with that. Seven Nation Army, then Valhalla Calling, then Hoist the Colors. MAGIC!
More coming soon. VERY soon... 😁
❤ your reaction
And thank you very much, again, Cheryl. You've been bingeing my videos 😁
a comment to share the love! ❤❤❤
🥰
7 Nation army yes! Another one you might enjoy is their cover of Warriors.
Woop Woo!!!
Oh yes, Seven Nation Army is a good next choice!
I can't wait to hear it!
How about their cover of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. This cover by Voice Play is what prompted the band Chicago to have them come sing with them when they did a concert in Atlantic City last November.
Already completed it 😁
You might try "Creep".
All great choices Ruth 👍😁
To avoid any Geoff scares (and definite “sexy Geoff”) I would avoid “Be prepared” and probably tomorrows Halloween release too just to be safe 😉😂😂
I need to build up my Geoff tolerance. I need to face my fear. And we all need more doses of Geoff in our lives.
@@melvinthinks Ooh, face your fear, please! Then we'll get more fun reactions!
As long as they keep making cool videos, I'm here for the ride 😁
Your reaction to Laynes insane beatboxing made me laugh. You should check out their Metallica cover of Nothing else matters or Phil Collins' In the air tonight. But whatever you choose it will hit you. Even the softer songs as True colors or i can't make you love me which is completely without beatboxing but Layne singing. He has an adorable voice, too. Have fun❤
Cheers Anna! 😁 I've already got a video for Nothing Else Matters but there's still plenty more for me to uncover 🤗
I quite enjoyed that. I'm used to metal bands covering boy bands not boy bands covering rock/metal. I have request, not to you but to Voiceplay, do you do any Lorna Shore?
Hahahaha! That would be epic! To The Hellfire would be my request.
7 nation army is another phenomenal cover by them... again, it's in a dilapidated building as it's part of the post apocalyptic trilogy which also includes Warriors by imagine dragons. Vp never does a copy and paste cover. They will always respect the original but totally leave you knowing you've listened to Vp's version. .. one I would also recommend is their version of creep... xx 🏴
Anything by Radiohead gets a tick in my book 👍 Cheers Allison 🙏
Sorry for my english, in my case, the first song to lisening the voiceplay was Hellfire, I recomended this song
Nice one! 👍
Geoff shows off his range in the new release be prepared and the oggie doggie song
I keep hearing about this tune which eludes me. But one day, I will catch on 🤣
Oogie Boogie, from Nighmare Before Christmas.
Oggie doggie or oogie boogie? 😬
I know it isn’t hard rock, but one of my favorite rock covers they did was one of the first I viewed, Carry On Wayward Son originally by Kansas.
If you are a gamer, I suggest you check out some of their game themes. Omar also appears with them in one of my favorites, Dragonborn/Skyrim
There's definitely lots for me to choose from!
Too late, John! Seven Nation Army is dropping in a little over 3 hours!
there are no wrong direction with Voiceplay 🙂
I think you are probably right 👍
Saw you did a Post Modern Jukebox video (haven't checked it out yet, but I will when I'm not headed to bed). Thought I'd let you know, they do a cover of this as well. It is also interesting.
Erm... not me. But thank you nevertheless for watching the video I did make 😬
Whelp, that's cringe. I looked back through. It was Angelina Jordan's " I Put a Spell on You." The thumbnail looked like PMJ to my old decrepit eyes. Lol. I subbed anyway and will check out more of your sudden when it isn't 5 am.😂
😬 😂😄 No problem and thanks for subbing! 👍👍👍
I’m not going to disagree with your choice to do “Seven Nation Army” next. After all it is one of my faves of theirs. But I am going to send you ‘love’ anyways. Even though I don’t disagree. Subscribing.
Thank you very much and I'm sending some love right back at cha! 😘
If you like video game themes, they did Halo and Dragonborn(Skyrim)
I was chatting with a viewer the other day who said a similar thing, and when I said "But I'm not really a gamer" they told me it didn't matter. Halo and Valhalla Calling is another one isn't it? The latter has come up quite a lot in recommendations. So much stuff to pick from!
You got a new sub … as long as you keep some VoicePlay and maybe add so Home Free. Great reaction. P.S. I think everyone finds Geoff a bit sexy. 😊
Cheers very much 👍😁
As I've said before and will continue to say I also have a huge crush on Geoff and Eli. If you really want your floors to rumble, I highly suggest the Halo theme song. Its a longer video but you should definitely watch the whole thing. LOVE your reactions. New subscriber!
Was just reading your other comment and this one popped up 😄 How come it took you TWO videos to subscribe, huh? 😜 Only kidding. Slightly. Maybe. I'll never tell. Thank you. That's what I should have said (Melvin shouts at himself for not having polite manners)

So you may not want them seeing your message. I love them. But you may not love them. It's a risk. But hopefully they see this and check the channel out. I will be 😁
