  • A true Cafe' racer has a distinct style with the lower clip-on handlebars and sleek pan seating with a contoured hump. What really sets one apart from others is the Dolphin faring found on the early models being raced on tracks like the Thruxton Circuit located in Hampshire, England. Now you can have the same retro look and riding advantages of a streamlined faring on your Triumph Thruxton RS. In this video you will see how easy it can be installed. I purchased the faring kit and the 2023 Triumph Thruxton from Street Stuff Cycle in Norwich, CT. at 192 N Main St.

      It’s not as difficult as you may think. Just take the task on step-by-step and before you know it it’s finished and installed just the way you like it.

      It’s a great option to have on the bike , and it is totally functional, plus cosmetically pleasing. It completes the image of the Triumph Thruxton as a café racer. Ordering it from a Triumph source as an OEM part is your best bet as everything that you need is included in the kit. Enjoy every ride and you may have a challenge with having a smile 😊on your face hours after you finished your ride.

    That fairing really does complete the bike. How do you enjoy it now after a few months? Adequate protection? What about cleaning/maintenance? Any issues popped up?

      Hello, I liked the naked look of the Triumph Thruxton RS without the fairing. I thought that it was one of the best looking bikes produced by Triumph. Now that I have the fairing on it, I think it is the most attractive, stylish, functional and powerful motorcycle that I have ridden in that class of motorcycle so far. I find it difficult to choose another one of my bikes to ride instead of the Thruxton. The wind protection is adequate and allows for good visibility, while providing relief from the direct wind pressure. Cleaning and maintenance of the finish on the fairing requires the proper use of spray cleaner/ polish with a clean soft material to wipe and buff with. The plastic windscreen gets covered when I use a motorcycle cover so as to not put any fine scratches in it. In the spring, many bugs that commit suicide against the windscreen and fairing get cleaned off with warm, clean water, and then a coating of the spray cleaner/polish. Thank you for your comment / question , and may you have the chance to experience the joy of riding a Triumph Thruxton.

      Just a quick update on the Triumph Thruxton and fairing. There is one issue that I’m having and it involves the attention that I get every time I stop somewhere. I am happy to share the information about the Thruxton with others and it’s fun to see the appreciation and excitement on peoples faces when they observe a classic work of art. Most people just want to know what kind it is and more about the motorcycle and where they can get one. Naturally, I refer them to my favorite Triumph dealer, however, this is the last year that a Triumph Thruxton can be purchased new, as they are discontinuing that model. Fear not there are many Triumph models that can give you as much if not more excitement and satisfaction on two wheels.

      @@lifetimeadventures9107 I bought one a month ago! Quite possibly the last available one in my country [Poland]...oh the luck. And I literally, as of 5 minutes ago, finished installing the fairing that my local dealer shipped out to me before the weekend! The last few hours were spent watching your video and installing the fairing. Thank you!
      And yes, I completely agree with you. The first stop I made after taking it away from the dealer involved random people taking an interest in the bike. I even had people giving me thumbs ups as I was cruising on the highway!

    I sure wish I had your talent and thanks for producing such a great video. I have been considering all of the bonnevilles and cant get this bike out of my mind. Im 5'9" , 61 years old and very concerned the bike will be to uncomfortable to ride. Most of my riding is an hour or 2 locally. Have you found this to be the case or is it something that you get used to. It seems that many riders trade these in rather quickly. I really need a bike I can stick with. Thanks for any insight you can share.

      Hello George, Thank you for the comment. I think you will find that any of the Triumph motorcycles would be a pleasure to ride. I especially enjoy the Thruxton RS 1200 as it gives you a feeling that you are on a classic cafe racing machine with all the modern features to enhance your riding pleasure. If you are unsure if the comfort level would present a challenge, I would recommend you find one you can test ride. There may be someone that has one for rent at www.riders-share.com in your area or a dealer that may have one. This will be the last year you can purchase a new one as they are closing the Thruxton model line. Now it will be a collector bike that will only go up in value. I am 5'11' and in my 70's and find the Thruxton comfortable for the type of riding you have mentioned. One to three hours with a Cafe stop along the away, on some twisty country roads, will provide you with happy memories of the ride along with a smile when you recall the feeling of the Thruxton's refined power and handling. Just looking at the bike encourages one to get on and go! The weather cooperated and I finally had a chance to get out for a ride this month and will be posting another video soon. Thanks for watching and I wish you success in finding the right bike for your riding adventures.

      Had my rs for 4 years now and she’s a keeper the looks the sound are sublime in my opinion. It’s used twice weekly in the summer in the uk and have done some longer rides without issues .. I would say if your concerned about comfort or weight on your wrists you could change to straight bars with a kit or a speed twin might be a better fit . Hope you find something out there what you like ..

    I’m planning on getting a Thruxton soon- maybe this very color. I like both looks- with and without fairing. Seems like it would be a bit too much work to go back and forth? Maybe just twice a year for summer and winter?

      I don’t think that you’ll be disappointed owning a Thruxton. I find that I use the Thruxton most often amongst all my motorcycles that I ride. The fairing installation is not that complicated and like I said in the video it can be changed to the original configuration in about an hour. Since I have installed the dolphin fairing, I feel as though I will not be removing it because I enjoy the wind protection and the appearance. I recently equipped the Thruxton with a Triumph tank bag and find it to be very useful. I intend to publish a video review of the tank bag and again the panniers with some extra mounting hardware tips that will prevent the bags from detaching accidentally. Thank you for watching the video and checking out my channel. May you have many hours of happy riding adventures ahead.

      @@lifetimeadventures9107 Thank you sir! Yes it looks so good with the fairing I may never want to take it off. Knowing me, I’ll be lazy and just have the dealer install/uninstall it for me during services.

    Did you use the stock risers or did you install the lower risers that come with the kit? If you did you the stock risers, can you turn the bars to full lock both ways?

    • @lifetimeadventures9107
      @lifetimeadventures9107  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I have the stock clip on bars in use on the Thruxton RS. When you watch the video pay attention to my comments about that the stock bars. When in their original factory position they do not interfere with the fairing when turning full stop each way. May you have lots of pleasurable rides on whatever motorcycle you choose to enjoy life with. If it’s the Triumph Thruxton RS be prepared for a lot of fun.

    if u need to repair the headlights do u need to take the entire fairing off?

    • @lifetimeadventures9107
      @lifetimeadventures9107  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe the answer would be yes, but it’s very easy to remove.
      Most of the effort putting the fairing on is rearranging the wiring and directional signals, and putting on the under frame that holds the fairing to the motorcycle. Once that’s all done, removing the fairing is as simple as unscrewing a few allen head bolts up near the windscreen and a couple under the headlight. After that, you can access the headlight internals by simply unscrewing the fastening screw on the side of the bezel, and there you are in full access to all the wires and headlight bulb. I would think that it would be very rare that you’d have to open the headlight up for maintenance. Thanks for your question and your comment and for watching the video. Enjoy your riding experiences.
