Your videos are so comforting as someone in their 20s;) you r just so inspiring and passionate, you may not see it but you give me (and many others)) lots of hope and excitement for life❤
I've lived in Beijing for 5 years and go past 鼓楼 and the surrounding 胡同 on a constant basis, but until today, had never discovered Zarah. Today I went for a bowl of pasta and immediately felt like it's something I should have known about years ago! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Evelyn, i first visited Beijing in 2004. I love when you visit it. What you discribe are exactly my feelings I have after living in Berlin for over 20 years. During this time, the city totally transformed from still showing the scars of separation to the international, BNB, Tourist years today. There are certainly good and less good aspects to it 😀
these changes feel like pulses of a city - unsettling and comforting at the same time. I'm in awe, and feel so moved to be able to witness it for Beijing. can't wait to see Berlin through my own eyes!! Soon:)
Your videos really calm me down and show me that we can shape our futures even if we feel the uncertainty. We are the same age so I relate to so many things that you feel and going through but I still lack the courage to quit everything to start a new journey. You’re really inspiring not only to younger people but also people that are same age or older than you. If you ever come to Germany I would love to meet you Evelyn!
😭thank you mathilda...I hope you know it's not that you don't have the courage to quit. There are just fears and doubts you need to take care of - I have them too, all the time. We come to these decisions in our own time, and I'm sure you'll find what's best for you, in your own time✨ Sending you so much love!
@@tapiocapress Thank you so much dear these words 🥹🤍 Maybe we really need to trust the timing and process, even if it can be difficult at times. Until then I’m happy to follow your journey and wish you all the best and luck 🫂 Sending you lots of love back from Germany 💕
Hey, Evelyn. Just wanted to say how much I love your videos! I’m three years older than you, (American) and moved to Beijing in 2012 when I was 21 and lived there until 2020. It changes so quickly and yet so many familiar qualities remain the same, as you said. Not unlike an old friend It’s now been almost five years since I’ve been back, but I miss Beijing very much and think of it several times a week. Your videos have my mind flooding with memories of my life in 鼓楼的胡同 and, like you, in my time there, I faced many of these similar questions about what and where home is. I’ll be visiting again in March and I feel a mix of excitement, nervousness, and nostalgia. You’re a wonderful TH-camr and your commentary and vulnerability are appreciated. Keep going! Dylan
a piece of me will always, always be in 鼓楼. I think you know what I mean✨what a time it's been for 鼓楼 since 2020. I have seen so many shops open, closed, reopened, through the past 4 years, with hope, nostalgia, heartbreak, more hope, and all of this just makes gulou a part of my being, my emotions, my heart. Gulou is there for you in March, it'll always be there for you:)
As someone in their mid 20s (currently 25) also looking for a place to call home, I’ve been loving your digital nomad series & all your videos in general, the things you share with us have resonated with me in so many ways ❤. You’ve inspired me to also start my YT and share my thoughts to the world 🥰
As a German I really can’t recommend Berlin. But I would suggest you have a look yourself and see how things are going. Though not speaking German is extremely problematic in Germany. It’s easier in Berlin, but still.
First of all I love your vids 🫶🏽 I am german and I really don’t like our people, they are very grumpy and not so nice when it comes to other people, everyone only thinks about themselves. I’ve been born here and those personality traits make me very sad and depressed and how they think about the prestent generation is very sad. I would love to move to Switzerland and maybe I will do this if I can pick myself up and have the courage to do so.
I can pretty much relate to your experience just like my life in my half gap year one year ago. I watched your video for a long time. and I am current on another crossroad of my life. near graduation time . what's in tomorrow? I could barely tell. thought . but I definitely feel that having a connection with a community is really good.
Aww, you're so cute and introspective Evelyn 😊🤩 Being a digital nomad and traveling around is fun, but it can also be quite draining and difficult to keep up with relationships (glad you and Dave were able to reunite!). It leads to a life of transience and fleeting encounters (still special, but hard to hold on to). Yes, good to recognize that an anchor of sorts is helpful! I love the vibes you capture here, Beijing looks lovely! (Ahh, the jianbing and kaofu look so good.) You seem really suited to life in Beijing (and aww, your favorite city) - curious as to why you're set on Berlin in the future? But I guess you've said you're still mulling over the place you want to call home, you'll figure it out 💖
Hello, Chinese streets are very beautiful and famous, especially street food is also very delicious. Thank you for sharing this great video with viewers. Wishing you a happy new day and success in your life 👍💯
You and Dave are so cute together.❤ I understand how big of a decision all of this is, and that long distance IS hard! I hope wherever you are in the world next time, that you find your anchor, whether there or within you. ❤
I wonder, have you ever been to Berlin? Do you know how it feels to be there? I think you don't have to make a "right" decision. You can change it in every moment if it doesn't feel right anymore. You don't have to search for THE right place. So my recommendation would be to do what feels right - right now. You don't have children like me, so you have lots of freedom. AND you can work remote!
HI!! Can u share the sauces and the ingredients u hav eput in the jianbing? i tried jian bing 1 mth ago, i ddinl;t know what to add. Didn;t enjoy... would like to try your receipe.
Hi Evelyn, love your videos! But promoting BetterHelp is not the best idea, to be honest - they have quite a controversial reputation... to say the least
@@sola_a it's not only a reputation issue - they literally sell the information and data you provided for the sake of therapy to other companies who can potentially take advantage of your mental unwellness. I'm surprised content creators still take on better help sponsorships...
@catherinewang9183 ....so like most online service? Again, if you don't like it, don't sign up for it. Why should we not advertise a service that can do (has done!) so much good. Anyone can read through their terms of services and decide for themselves if they aren't a fan.
@@sola_a selling data is illegal, and it doesn't mean that they can do it just because other big companies do moreover, they do not give you any guarantee of providing you with a qualified specialist - it is clearly stated on their site. Do you think it is OK for a service that is supposed to provide psychological help?
@dariariazantseva1373 now you're just lying to get your point across. It is not illegal to handle your users data however you want. Don't like it? Either don't use the service or opt out. Shes not forcing you to sign up by promotinf it. Google/TH-cam does the same thing btw but given that you're using the site you can't exactly care that much about data privacy. That's not a problem unique to betterhelp. Most people need a few tries before finding a good match in a therapist, be it online or in person. The big bad about betterhelp is that it doesn't work for some people. Like literally anything else on this planet. But that doesn't mean it doesn't work for a whole lot of other people. To denounce youtubers for promoting a site that makes therapy more accessible for so many people is just silly.
11:58 Berlin is very expensive. Germany is in recession and full of migrants from Afghanistan, Siria etc. In Europe we expect to come more people from other war zones like Lebanon or Gaza. Is not that safe place that it use to be. I as a European find China /and Asia in general/ far more interesting. Stay in China pls. Very beautiful video! Thank you, Eveline.
hi sis, since u have more of free time, why dont u promote Chinese guys dating and marrying Indian girls. Unlike The Chinese economy, the Indian economy is booming. Our Chinese brothers could apply to jobs here and marry local girls and acquire Indian permanent residency, through their wives. Also cost of living in India is around half that of PRC.
are you sure you can keep speaking English everywhere you go in China? like you said, Beijing is changing... hopefully, no one will come up to you and say "speak chinese when in china!" haha., j/k

thanks
i mean this song is background music
