Love this, especially the valve stems. i have a helluva time setting the bead with Mousse, those valve stems with the black oring like seals are what I'm missing to get the air to push the bead out. Thanks Jeff !

Sweet! I will try this. I always assumed the mousse always pressed against the valve stem area too tight and would never allow this. I'd love to fabricate a zirk fitting instead of a valve stem and then load a grease gun full of silicone and be able to force it in by pumping the handle but I may be just dreaming.....

Yes the core is out, good suggestion about the compressed air. How heavy in the compressed air should I go in for how long, I don’t want to damage the mouse.
Hi Jeff I need your advice. I own a KTM 300 TPI and only use Michelin enduro M tyres and corresponding bib mousses. Sadly After changing the tyres only a couple of time and looking at the mousse intact I cannot get the tyre bead to sit back properly. After inflating the tyre the bead gets into place but would not stay there once the air gets out. Is it due to the bib mousse loosing its volume ? Any way to extend the life of the mousse that seems still in very good condition ?
Hello: Sounds like your mousse has shrunk prematurely and that is typically caused by not enough lube or the correct type of lubricant OR from riding on pavement which causes extreme heat. We highly recommend Nitro Lube slavensracing.com/shop/nitromousse-mounting-lube-by-nuetech/ and you should never use Murphy's Soap. How to save your current mousse: If you have an old mousse, cut out a 3"-4" section, then cut your newer mousse and force in the section. Use a syringe with some fuel tubing Another alternative take an old tube and cut it up. Run tape around the rim to hold in place. I prefer to use a cycling presta valves as the entire stem is threaded and removing the core is easier. Having the valve also makes it super easy to pop the beads with compressed air
I run standard nitro mousse in front and soft in the rear. I can get 100+ hours in dual sport riding on a Husky 300. Mostly off road trail (single and two track) with about 10-15% asphalt to get to the good stuff. I keep the speeds on asphalt low(below 50 mph) as heat is what kills the mousses life.

I’ll assume you have the core removed. Blow compressed air in to clear the blockage.
Yes the core is out, good suggestion about the compressed air. How heavy in the compressed air should I go in for how long, I don’t want to damage the mouse.

I always over lube my mousses. This is a great tip. I can over lube the tire and not have half of it on the bead inserting the mousse!

They shrink and then you have a mushy or flat tire. In extreme cases from riding on pavement, they turn to dust.

What is the purpose of the lube? What happens if they are not lubed?
No lube = high friction/heat = melted mousse

Ducatirocks answered your question. I prefer TUbliss in all of dirt bikes and only use mousses in my 500 for dual sport rides.
