Thanks for this highly informative video! Earlier I had changed less than 10 tires in my whole life (with inflatable tubes) using tire irons. Now that I have mousses, I purchased the Rabaconda. Thanks to THIS video, I was able to replace the tire with minimum effort. To be honest, it took more time & effort to squeeze the old slippery bib inside the new tire than it did to install the tire on the rim! The only difficulty was when removing the tire from the rim at the rimlock - somehow managed it anyway.

Mine arrived today. Changed my front and rear with mousse for the first time. My biggest problem was to put the first side of the tyre on. Showed at 7 min 12 sec. Even small steps were nearly impossible with my Metzler Mc360 140/80-18. In every video I saw it looked as a very easy step. Any tips? I used straight leavers. Yours doesnt arrived today. Everything else was super easy love the product!
When you lay your tire on the wheel and hook one side of the tire inside the rim to starting pulling over the rim from opposite side, there is one trick that can help: lift the tire up from where you hooked it inside the rim (close to you, opposite from where you will pull with tire irons). Often people push it down from there, so the tire is a bit diagonal compared to the wheel. Not good. But if you pull it up, it is easier to get it over the rim from opposite side. Did that make any sense?
I just attempted my RABACONDA tire changer on a tubed 21" inch front tire ( 90/90-21). Mitas E07 tire. This is my first try and had some questions. 1) I noticed the bead breaker tire support adjuster moved slightly off 21" inch mark. I think made it hard for me to removing the tire. Anyway to keep that leg from moving? 2) With a tubed tire, can I leave the tube in wheel I dismount the tire, or should I try to remove it before attempted to pop entire tire off? 3) I assume it is OK to use some kind of lube to break bead and remove tire? 4) The you flip the tire to remove it, should the saw tooth edge of the bead breaker be pushing the very edge of the tire ( closest to rim )? 5) When I come to mount my new tube tire, should I install the tube with 5 PSI and mount it like a mouse? Hi Kam! Few ideas: 1) best to adjust the wheel supports relatively close to the rim. If they keep sliding on the base, just tighten the cam lever nut a bit more. 2) 2 ways: empty the tube and pull it out, or I prefer way more to leave around 5psi in the tube and push the tire off together with tube inside the tire. Like with mousse. 3) oh yeah, either professional tire lube or we usually use just diluted soap water spray 4) regarding bead breaker position: when pushing the tire off, see where it has best grip. With mousse, usually you push from middle of the tire side wall, as mousse holds the tire in form. but if with tube, then I guess the bead breaker might start slipping over. Then it's better to bring it closer to rim where it has better grip. 5) Yes, that's what we prefer to do. Again, 2 methods. a) when dismounting the tire, pull out the tube, when mounting, push in the tube. But it's so much more hassle! We prefer to leave air in the tube and push it off like with mousse when dismounting tire and put on the whole tire (with slightly inflated tube inside the tire) when mounting the tire. First install the valve through the valve hole, fix with nut and then push the rest of the tire on the rim. Hope that helps! Tnx!

@@Rabaconda I just installed a new front tire on my KTM 690 Enduro R. With a IRC heavy duty tube and Motoz Tractionator Adventure tire. I followed your recommendation with regarding to adjusting the three wheel supports close to the rim, slightly inflating my tube and stuffing it into my tire like a moose, using tire lube on the edge of tire bead, inserting the valve stem through wheel rim hole on opposite side of Rabaconda bead breaker, using the provided tire irons properly, watching your excellent videos, and everything worked out like a breeze. Shocking !! Very quick to pop a new tire on and a LOT less on knees. Once my fellow riders hear about this, I am sure there going to want try one of these stands. Thanks. Kam

I bought a used bike, I then found out that the bead on the rear tire wasn’t set all the way and wobbles slightly when driving. The bib is already in it. How do I set the bead with it already in there

Let me know at support@rabaconda.com few things: a) are you using mousse, b) is it over sized?, c) is the struggle with bead lock when mounting FIRST side of the tire or mounting the SECOND side of the tire? d) if second side of the tire, then at what point are you trying to hook the tire under the rim lock? in the beginning, middle or in the end of mounting the tire? This is better than other videos but I can't help feeling it's an awful lot easier mounting a used tyre and mousse than a new one. I would love to see a video with NEW Michelin Desert Race tyres and NEW Michelin Bib mousses. I laugh when I read "an easy 3-minute job", I have never managed less than 3 hours and the last two times I gave up with the Rabaconda and took the wheel to a professional tyre company. I am now about to do the same.
I managed to install new tyres and mousses with a rabaconda and it was a piece of cake, easily less than 10 minutes. I’ve just taken the front off to repair the rim (tyre done less than 5 miles but is 12m old) and it was off in about 3 mins, it took longer to set up the rabaconda than it did to remove the tyre
I'm okay at doing this. I'm not fast and I fit maybe 4 mousses in a year. The last pair I did were Michelin Enduro tyres, the set before that, Michelin Trackers. I've also used the Rabaconda to fit known difficult tyres, like the Anakee Wild but with inner tubes. It takes me about half an hour to 40 minutes to swap out a mousse. Girl on a Bikes video is the best video for me. Also, seeing a slim girl getting the tyre off without straining is a bit of a reminder for a strong man, who can shift big lumps of metal in the gym, that this is technique, not force. Getting the tyre into the drop centre with the levers is the magic trick. My first change took me about 2 hours with a stiff Mitas tyre. It gets better. I warm my tyres before I fit them if I can. It helps a little. My next change took me a bit over an hour, so if you've invested in one of these devices, do persevere. It's a combination of practice, a bit of confidence, and I use Soco tyre lube in a spray. It's still not a fun job, but these devices do work.
It does take us non pro's a lot longer. I just mounted an IRC VE33 110/100-18 rear tire with a Nitromousse NM-305.. 3 hours... Re-watched installation videos several times in frustration. Plenty of mouse lube, and soapy rim... Using the Rabaconda and their 5 tire irons (great irons), and it still was a struggle. I did have to remove a Tubliss system and that was about 30 minutes of the job, it fought me quite a bit. Now onto the front tire!! Thankfully I only do tire changes once or twice each year, I am not a racer. Otherwise I would beat myself over the head with a tire iron if it took this long every time.
You don't if it's a dirt bike. If Adventure bike, depends on riding. If mostly off-road, no need to balance. If mostly asphalt and high speeds, then use a manual tire balancer to do it yourself. Takes some 10-15 minutes per tire maximum
I read this as a good option for adv bikes if you like to change tires a lot. It looks like it eats rims for breakfast and seems ridiculously overpriced seeing as they didn't design it to balance tires as well when they could've easily designed an extra leg where you can turn it on it's side so you can freely spin the tire in its natural vertical position so you can easily balance your tire, making this an all in 1 tire changing machine and greatly increasing this products value for $$$. Doing so would probably lead me to purchase one. If this were $350 and doubled as a tire balancing stand then I'm sold. Cheers
If you break the disk doing that, it probably was a slice of cheese and not a brake disk. Good job!

depends really on use. Dry climate, faster speeds will need lubing more often. But I'd personally check every few months or so

usually by going over 70kph the bead tends to seat due to inertia
My riding has a better chance of breaking a disc rotor over my inabilities while changing a mousse.
