The one thing none of the SS advice channels address is how much Federal Income Tax is going to be taken out of your SS benefit. I've never seen it addressed. You have a choice of how much, in percentage. 7%, 10%, 12%, or 22%.
Ed....this is a truly needed channel. Thanks for sharing. One thing I haven't heard you mention is this. I took my SS at 66. My wife then became the ceo of our company and waited until she retired at 70 to get a bigger check. I wonder if I can suspend my SS now at 76 and build it up more since I can get a salary from our company. When I took my SS my wife got a check for half of what I was getting. Does this make sense or am I too old to do this? Thanks for your comments.
As I approach retirement, I've been watching your channel like I'm back in college. Please clarify something for me. I was married for twenty years and have been divorced for three. She made alot more in taxable income than I did. Do I get both mine and half of hers, or just the greater of the two? It's going to be close as to whether half of hers is greater than all of mine.
Unless you had a one on one conversation with God about your check-in date to the pearly gates, you should start your benefits, early, cause you never know what life has for you.
We need your help!! My husband came to the USA legally at 12 years old, he is not a resident or citizen he is 67 and applied for his retirement and has been denied!! He has worked legally all his life, HELP!!!😢
You can't live in Cuba and collect Social Security. I also do believe it reads, something like this, you need to be a citizen or lawfully present in order to collect Social Security.
Hello.. My bday is on May 15 1958, I’ll b retiring in Jan 2025 (66 and 8 mos) as a fra. Should I apply exactly date on Jan? When should I get my first SSS checks? Thanks . God bless you sir.
When I file for my social security in a little over a year from now when I turn 62. Do I physically have to be there? I’m an expat living in Thailand now and I also am married and have a 5 year old son. Do I have to be in the states to file for myself and my son or can I do everything online.
Thank you so much for this!!
What is used on the retirement application? The total income or the taxable income?
Thanks for all you do
You are so welcome
This helps me throw in the towel and roll out of my labor position as a lung cancer surgery patient at almost 6tfour..
Please join my LIVE Q&A if you have any questions when you file. Take care, Ed
