Again thanks for the awesome tutorials! You really helped me finally understand how to use this bloody synth. Microkorg sounds great but not easy to learn to use.
These videos are very useful. What I notice and I don't understand is when I select a square signal on osc1 and osc2 with the same frequency and synchronize them. It sounds very different. My logic tells me that it should sound twice as loud only. Do you know why this could happen? Thank you.
Thank you for these tutorials! Very helpful. I was wondering if you have any information on how to use the microkorg and korg kaossilator pro together?
can somebody explain how to sync the mk1 arpeggiator to an external device? (an octapad, another synth or whatever) the tempo knob is not precise enough and it always ends up desynchronized...
I don’t have any professional experience but I would say this was clearly a studio recording of a band so if we’re talking about the mid 80s, recorded to tape, I wonder tho if some of the vocals are scratch vocals before the final take was done. There’s a lot of music from that time that sounds like it. Have a look at a blog called Systems of Romance and look at Cold Wave, Flexi Disc too. The song is very much of its time and the only thing that stands out a bit is some guitar segments being a bit more “commercial” but that could just be because the vocals are recessed (which I think is because they were not the final vocals)
Might i suggest to show the dramatic changes that one might have a better understanding of the effects instead of the "middle" or "little" changes. I would suggest showing the dynamic of the changes. It might move things along a little quicker. thank you for your videos though. I have learned alot.
Gracias por tu opinion. En TH-cam hay una multitud de canales y vídeos que cubren el Microkorg, tengo confianza que podrás encontrar algo a tu gusto. Mucha suerte!
Why post this? If you need to explain what LFO's and waveforms are you are talking to people who shouldn't even be in posession of this VERY EASY to program synth. If it was a tutorial for a modern M1 user I would get it. No offence my friend but if people can't work out the editing functionality of this synth then they need to go and buy a Casio. Peace out.
+Devin T Sorry, it wasn't meant to come across that way. I don't feel like it's a beginners synth as you can go quite deep into modding the patches. My point was that if you haven't cut your teeth on something easier to edit then it's maybe a bit too complicated for a beginner. Reading my comment back yeah I was a bit blunt. No offence intended. peace out.
I'm brand new to synths and keyboard and just bought this yesterday to learn. His videos are very helpful to us noobs and are much appreciated. if you're so good with synths then why are u even here? and casios are fucking shit. peace out.
Actually, a synth is a synth, and a begginner it's a begginner. Any synth can be for any user. It the user is willing to learn, the synth will be usefull. Period. Anyone can work out anything, yeah, but if there is some online help available, it's better for all. More easy to get more people into something. We are all winners. A keyboard is not a synth. Virtual synths may have not the same feeling for someone, specially without MIDI controllers, which can be quite expensive, and not an obvious first choice for a noob. Microkorg is a perfect balance between power and price, and that is specially important in some countries where things like this are a little expensive in general, or where there are no decent choices for that price (or less). The theory behind applies to all users, and I think the MK1 has a very simple interface.

+El Jerry It's a pretty good workhorse once you get the hang of it :) Thanks for watching!
Learned a lot. Still in 'play' mode with this synth, but you've pointed me in the right direction, thanks for taking the time to make these videos.
I just got a MicroKORG, and I appreciate this video series. I've always been a straight piano & organ guy, so this is all new to me.

after all It’s not a keyboard
Thank you
You’re very welcome!
You were annoyingly nervous in the 1st video, but you are starting to warm up. I am a virgin with this Korg, so I appreciate the help.
Thanks for the feedback

Becase the two oscilators are in phase with eachother you get that phasing effect
Thank you for these tutorials! Very helpful. I was wondering if you have any information on how to use the microkorg and korg kaossilator pro together?
will do
can somebody explain how to sync the mk1 arpeggiator to an external device? (an octapad, another synth or whatever)
the tempo knob is not precise enough and it always ends up desynchronized...
how do you tweak the vocoder to get that ewf lets groove effect?
sadly i don't have any experience with the kaossilator range.
Is it possible to do lfo pwm on the microkorg?
I’m pretty sure it is. However I no longer have a Microkorg so I can’t double check 🙁
How to set bpm ?
Does tms?
It’s a good question. I don’t have this synth anymore but it could indeed work for that type of track
@@Mamotreco would you know how the song could have been made, by your experience?

Hey Siccmade, do you mean the whole microkorg or how to initialize one patch? Thanks - Jacques Mongrel

Synth & Sundry said that because of the subway ticket on the right haha

Dude, you need to slow down and explain better. You're going a mile a minute and this thing is fuckin complicated. great videos though! Slow down joe
Jonnaybb just pause it and go back
que feo este tutorial!!!
Me conmueve tu devoción en continuar a mirar estos vídeos y comentar con una crítica contundente sobre la estética que exponen.

You have to start somewhere
No need to be douchey bro, microkorg is a cheap synth that might be a starter for lots of folks.
