You are right! Health officials say you would be spreading any germs from the chicken all over your sink and counters. Cooking will kill any germs/ bacteria.

I refuse to even feed ground turkey or ground chicken to my dog when I cook for her. I've seen how it's made and the chemicals that are used to make it safe for consumption. NO THANK YOU 🤢🤮

That’s old information. The new information is NOT to wash/rinse your chicken. It spreads germs & they found is not necessary.

Washing the chicken causes the germs to get into the air that you breathe. That's the reason they no longer advise to wash it. While cooking destroys any cooties.
I wash it with cold water & some vinegar in sink, than pay it dry.

The new information is that you’re not supposed to rinse/wash the chicken. It spreads germs everywhere &!is unnecessary. The only thing you might want to do is pat the chicken dry if pan frying it. He’s putting in a crockpot so not necessary.
If you use gloves when dealing with meat of any kind there is no need for worry
