I'm really surprised the spc concept hasn't been adapted into a series like the X-Files yet. It's a treasure trove of interestingly eerie content. The closest I've seen has been cabin in the woods, but it was more focused on protagonists rather the creatures themselves. I'd love to see this explored in live action.
A bit of story time here, Most of my family is into SCP and one of my cousins came to visit my family and I one day and she really wanted to know about SCP 096. Like REALLY wanted to know so I took her, older her sister, her older brother, and my brother up to my room so I could tell them and afterwards I showed them this video. Well a few days after christmas we were all at my grandma's house and looking at some of her old ski pictures when all of a sudden we start hearing waling and crying... so were all a little freaked out but my cousin who wanted to learn about it was REALLY freaked out and started crying. Turns out her sister took advantage of the pics and decided it'd be funny to try and freak us out by playing a distorted voice recording.
What would have happened if the subjects just slept anyway? Would they have been executed? That would be preferable to what they went through in that creepypasta

I can relate to thinking something just like this. What I though was that the different styles some people draw of 096 is basically an accurate picture of 096 in their own style. So, artist renditions are safe to look at in this world because 096 can't get us in the universe that they we're pictured in. (That was a lot of typing ;•~• )

This is one of the better SCPs. The way it’s kind of comprehensible that it’s freaking out upon being seen as if it’s monstrously ashamed of its own horrific appearance. But not just that, the most important thing is that makes some trivial thing we do scary, imagining that we may accidentally catch a glimpse of it if we aren’t careful with what we look at, even if it’s just some indiscernable pixels in a photo. Were it real, this fear would br debilitating unless you’re just blind. Same with like 173, where the act of just blinking or turning around and it just appears in front of you and with every inevitable momentary blink it inches further towards you.
Imagine being that mountaineer taking an innocent picture and not knowing that you were only a mile or two away from one of the deadliest creatures on the planet.
Imagine the D class personnel being like: “All you want me to do is draw a picture of this monster? Maybe I don’t mind being here.” And then getting torn apart by a monster💀

This is one of the better SCPs. The way it’s kind of comprehensible that it’s freaking out upon being seen as if it’s monstrously ashamed of its own horrific appearance.
But not just that, the most important thing is that makes some trivial thing we do scary, imagining that we may accidentally catch a glimpse of it if we aren’t careful with what we look at, even if it’s just some indiscernable pixels in a photo. Were it real, this fear would br debilitating unless you’re just blind.
Same with like 173, where the act of just blinking or turning around and it just appears in front of you and with every inevitable momentary blink it inches further towards you.
I love the screeching sounds that the Shy Guy makes in this video. I prefer it over the unimpressive noises that other portrayals give him.
