Excellent how-to on the complete installation process. I used as a guide to install an Atoto F7 CarPlay stereo and backup camera into a 2002 Civic. Thanks
I have a 2004 civic ex and I don’t have that light connector on my trunk I have it on the side where the reverse light normally is and my yellow male connector wire doesn’t reach the yellow female connection wire to my camera? What should I do ?

Hi, thanks a lot for your video. I installed my camera on my 01 Silverado but in order for it to work I have to keep pressing the camera option on the screen and light press on the e-brake in order to turn on because otherwise it will say not working while vehicle is on reverse. Please help.
I removed the center console because there are bolts underneath the radio and ac controls you need to remove to take it out. And I removed the ac controls so I could tighten the screws on the side of the radio to the radio bracket
Where can I find those t-10 connectors? I googled searched the term and I found none that looked like the ones you used in the video Reference 10:01 Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my question
Voice over wasn't the greatest. It's t tap connectors. Wirefy 120 PCS T Tap Wire Connectors - Quick Splice Wire Connectors - for Low Voltage Usage - Quick Disconnect Wire Taps - Red 22-18 AWG a.co/d/2U4ziO5
Your harness has two yellow connections on the back. One is video in and the other should be camera in. Connect the yellow wire from your rear view camera to camera in on your radio harness. When connected and on radio, Bluetooth, or car play the screen will switch to your rear view camera automatically when you put the car into reverse then will switch back to the screen you were on before you went into reverse.
Only thing I can suggest is double check your wiring. Yellow cable from your camera should be plugged into camera in and the red wire thats attached to the camera cable should be connected to the violet wire with the white tracer which is labeled reverse +
Hey quick question, did you connect the rear camera cable to the VIDEO IN or CAMERA IN? Do you know what the Camera 12v is for? Is it necessary? Is it necessary to ground the 18 pin ground, or is the chassis ground on the 20 pin sufficient? I just installed a backup cam for my DMCPA70BT, but it only works when I connect it to video in and won't automatically trigger from going into reverse, despite wiring the positive red cable to positive reverse on the head unit. I have to manually select "A/V IN" to open the camera, but the camera only receives power in reverse.
i am currently installing my radio into my 2003 civic ex. i wanted to ask did you buy the double din bezel separately from the radio? if so where did you find it? it seems as if it’s a perfect fit for the car
Hey I have a 04 civic same radio when my car is off the power button blinks about every 15 seconds, is that normal?? Or is something not right the radio functions fine I just noticed it after I installed it thanks!!
Great video! Quick question, is that pink wire you grounded for the parking brake input? Would me not grounding it prevent the rear view camera from working? I followed your video, but I'm not getting any signal for the rear view camera.
No it shouldn't prevent the camera from working. Only thing I can suggest is to double check your connections for the camera and make sure the yellow rca cable from your camera is connected to the "camera in" connector on the back of the radio harness. Also make sure the red wire attached to your yellow rca connector from the camera is connected to the violet wire with the white tracer on the radio harness
@@blownfusegarage thanks for the quick reply! I messed with it all night and now can't get the camera to engage when put in reverse. Here's what I tried and just left it accessible in manual mode for the mean time. Any insight as to why it won't engage with the shifter? "Red" is the wire coming off the RCA. • Reverse input to "red" - no signal detected (no screen) • Reverse input & rear cam pwr to "red" - camera stays on and won't let me toggle through sources • Rear cam pwr to "red" - camera works only when selected • Rear cam pwr to "red" & reverse input ran to + of reverse lights - camera works in manual only then stays on when selected. Shifter still doesn't work.
There is a plastic trim between the top of the seats and the back window where the rear speakers are mounted. You put your car key in the lock cylinder for the seat release which is on the same panel between the rear speakers. Then turn it to which side you want to move down and at the same time pull that section of the seat down
Yes the radio should be off when you turn your key to the off position. Did you use a harness adapter or is it directly connected to the factory harness?
Dumb question. I jut purchased a 2 din touch screen for my 2003 civic. I want a nicer crisper sound so I purchased a Boss 4 channel amp. I am confused everyone talks about amps and subs woofers . Can I run radio and car speakers through amp to give it more power??? Or do I need to buy a sub too?
You can run car speakers through a 4 channel amp. You would just need to run the speaker wires from the factory side of your radio harness to the 4 channel amp. No subwoofer needed
I know you made this a couple years ago, but I thought you may still help. At th-cam.com/video/0q90OlMYAFc/w-d-xo.html I get the yellow wire, but where is the black lead coming from on the right side of the split screen? ty BTW taking the entire seat out to show the demonstration was amazing. Thank you for that extra effort.
Just installed this head unit and I’ve been looking to install a backup camera
I will be running the wire to my backup camera today to 03 2 door civic today, and I will be using your diagram
Live the simplicity of the video. Thanks!

Is the black on the reverse light a ground
Yes

I removed the center console because there are bolts underneath the radio and ac controls you need to remove to take it out. And I removed the ac controls so I could tighten the screws on the side of the radio to the radio bracket

Why does my camera only turn on when it’s on AV in ? It won’t change to reverse camera when I’m on CarPlay
You have the yellow cable plugged in on av in?

Where does the other side of the blue plug go? I know one the male side goes into the cars radio harness but where does the female blue plug go?
The blue female connector doesn't plug into anything on the 01-05 civic. You just leave it unplugged

What adapter did you use for the radio harness ?
I updated the links and left the part numbers in the title for each link in the description section in case the links get messed up again.
Hey I have a 04 civic same radio when my car is off the power button blinks about every 15 seconds, is that normal?? Or is something not right the radio functions fine I just noticed it after I installed it thanks!!
No that's not normal. You may want to get a warranty swap done on the radio. I doubt it's from how you installed it, probably just a bad unit.
You car have power locks ???
Not original. Car is a DX so it has aftermarket.
What did you use to extend the pink wire to go to the ground?
@@blownfusegarage so what did you use to connect it to the ground?
I used a butt connector and added some 18 gauge wire with a ring terminal at the end to put over the factory ground bolt.
