Dual is on the right track. They just need to add wireless carplay/android auto, fix the screen resolution, and mess with the UI while keeping the same price point and they'll have a killer stereo
They just released a SW update on their website for the resolution, loading it onto a flashdrive to install as we speak!

All I wanted to know was the amp output RMS, as for the rest...much the same as all the others. The determinants for me is the quality of the amp. I think this was one of the key reasons I went for a Sony headunit over one of these makes with numbers and letters and some odd name. For me I wanted a stereo with a screen, not a tablet with an amp attached to it. Good review. This unit will tick the box for most people but proper enthusiasts might want to consider what you want out of such a unit.

Just put this in the wifes suburban and its awesome. Very simple operation and not a lot of useless settings noone ever uses.
I’m having problems putting. When I connect it the power button will light up then it starts blinking and won’t power on. Do you know why it would do that?

You guys do a great job adding the bench specs, so many details! I wish this unit had a volume knob! I want a similar unit w/ 7" screen / android, but with a volume knob! ( for my jeep wrangler) I often have it 'open' so I don't want to stress if the radio gets stolen. Thanks!

If you want aux input just get a 3.5 to rca adapter and input through the av inputs, retained my aux port that way, this radio is the only radio anyone should get, cheap, nice looking gui, great sound quality, loads of features and inputs, honestly don't see much reason to pay the extra 100 bucks or more for the sony xav series

I watched a few of your videos. The data about frequencies, and distortion are great! Only one problem. I have no context about whether those numbers are good or bad.
Lol so distortion you don't want exceeding past about 1.5% and the Watts/Voltage relate directly to power output. The flatter a frequency response the better.

Depends on the camera. If you can just get an RCA feed from it, perfect! If not, you're SOL.
I got this exact unit and also bought the dual back-up camera. I am confident it should work as long as you know how to wire your old camera to this new headunit. It's pretty straight forward, wire you camera's video RCA to head unit Backup camera RCA (usually yellow) and the other wire (usually red/power) that comes with it to the headunit's reverse and it should work since you already have an existing camera.
The remote control for car radios has to be the biggest waste of money & materials ever conceived!

I have the xdcpa10bt and I think they're identical except our part number is what's sold through Walmart.
The Jensen apparently gets firmware updates. So far none for the Dual (or any response from their CS.
To be honest you are right it takes a while to get a response from DUAL CS

Hi Luin! During this screen mirror all functions must be done at the phone. The mirring we show is a physical connection via adapters. Our mirroring adapters work for both iPhone and Android, it's a simple screen mirror
So if you want to watch a movie on your phone you can turn your phone to landscape view and it will mirror that?
Still a higher resolution than most pioneer units. That's sad. Sadly, isn't matching pioneers dac quality. Even the 160$ 500ex has a great dac

Yes, it uses GPS through the phone.

@@remainloyaltoyour0wnsoil580they're pretty similar except the dual is less likely to be stolen. I live in Lancaster so close enough, but I think I'll pass on the offer, although I do appreciate it. However, if anyone asks me what radio to get between the two, I'd say go with the dual, and buy an amp/new speakers with the money you save.
if i connect my phone to bluetooth first play music from an app then connect to apple carplay will the music keep playing or stop if that app ain’t on carplay?

So CarPlay works without having phone connected by wire? Just works by Bluetooth?
The Bluetooth is just for audio through the stereo os. CarPlay requires a USB connection.

No, we are measuring the maximum output to a certain level of distortion, this way you can easily compare between manufacturers. We test frequency response at 2 volts so we can see the output at another comparable level.

thats the ebrake wire, just connect it to the ground black wire to bypass the ebrake and you can use apple car play and android auto while driving
Need help, I hooked up this device to my car and the buttons on the left and remote control didnt work so I couldn't adjust volume. Also I couldn't use android auto because the car "wasn't parked"

Will this fit a 2008 Mercedes-Benz c350 with a Metra Car Dash Kit - 95-8733B? Others suggest that the short multimedia units do not fit. It looks like it should work just looking at the side views.

Does anyone have this long term still? I have gone through 2 Pioneer units and they both failed with the white screen of death, so I bought this as a cheap replacement so I can at least have something instead of using AirPods constantly. I wish it could have SiriusXM but I use mostly apps anyway. Also I don’t like the lack of customization of a wallpaper, but I can live without it for the price. I had a cheap unit like this once and the sound isn't quite there. If you want good quality sound, you'll be spending at least $200 and of course the more you spend the better quality you'll get.

Yes, it can be dimmed automatically with headlights. My unit is a Jensen CAR70V (installed on a 2013 Civic LX) is identical to this Dual unit (Dual/Jensen are from the same company). For whatever reason, Honda OEM wire harness does not have a dimmer wire so I tapped the dimmer wire of the Jensen unit to the grey wire (12V?) of the hazard button harness. When I turn on the headlights, the hazard button lights up and the Jensen head unit dims automatically (you must set the dimmer function on the head unit as "auto" for this to work. Hope that helps.

yes, like all headunits that have apple carplay/android auto. The only time you don't need to plug it in is if it has WIRELESS apple carplay/android auto and thats still considered a "high end" and expensive feature
