Yo btw whats the quiz name???
pretty crazy your first state was your only 100% lol
Shoutout to North Dakota fr
1:13 Having the one and only 100 be the first state is 🤯
Thought I'd add a little tip... if you release the mouse button it will connect to the first point in your drawing, so for example if you start in the NW corner of Wyoming you can trace the three sides to the NE corner, then let go of the button and it will automatically make a straight line to the NW corner where you started.
Darin, thank you for creating my dream quizzes!
4500+ points nicely done! I got about 4100. It's funny how you see the outlines a million times but can't always recreate them.
wow you watched that quickly :P
Exposed!
@ChicagoGeographer , at this moment, you're 4th out of 203 people who have tried it...not far behind the leaders.
Had it mattered and had you took the time to redraw ones you knew were off, you'd be in the lead. I don't blame you for not doing that.
I have no interest in trying this myself. Watching you do it and highlighting the landmarks/cities you used was much better.
Anyone notice… his past score the day before was 400 something then wen he records he then gets in the top 5 scores ya obviously looking at the map cus also he cuts the camera so much in the video….
@@jacobberry5199, I assume you're kidding.
In case you're not, the obvious explanation is that his first game was an incomplete test to figure out the mechanics of the game and to assess whether it'd be worthwhile to do a video of it.
Someone with only a vague knowledge of US geography would score higher than that. If you've watched his other videos or knew that he managed to qualify for GeoGuessr World Cup through multiple qualifying tournaments, you'd realize he's legit. He's especially adept at US geography.
ND's eastern border isn't just straight N/S? CT has a divot? I'm questioning everything I thought I knew about state borders. Your drawing skills were the only thing holding you back here because your knowledge about where the borders are *supposed to* be is insane. 🤯
Alaska's coastline would have been tedious, but the Canada border would have been interesting
what about hawaii 😂😂 would they have each island be one like with michigan?
32:15 textbooks will have us learn of the 2023 annexation of wolfe island for centuries to come
lol ok so he got that wrong.
Honestly pretty impressed with your straight lines, as drawing with a mouse is hard! And great memory too, of course haha. Things like this make me realize how bad my visual memory is
this is great 😆didn't realize how many state borders use rivers! makes sense, just hadn't really thought about it lol well done!
Fun video! It was definitely cool to see you use all those cities and rivers as references
That’s awesome man, Imma try this out. Excellent job, NH, VA, WV, and UT made me laugh a bit but I know I won’t do better
This is seriously impressive.
Highly recommend revisiting Mackinac Island. I worked at the fort on the island and spent half half the year (May-October) living in the island for four years and it was incredible. And yeah, though I didn't get to the mainland super often, driving the Lake Michigan coast is lovely.
This is way better than I think I could do, but whenever I tried I never had the luxury of cities and rivers to reference
Impressive! Even better than Al Franken's version. haha
The western border of West Virginia is very difficult because it follows the Big Sandy River to a point and then starts following a branch of that river -- Tug Fork -- near the southern part. But still very impressive, especially that you know the "tri-city" MSA of Huntington/Ironton/Ashland where I'm from.
Rhode Island actually had some land east of the Narragansett Bay, that’s what you missed.
As someone who lives in Granby CT, thanks for giving us back the Notch! 😂
First, i was like that looks doable. Then I tried to do it on my country of origin and found out how difficult it is. I mean European Countries are probably more difficult because we have less straight lines between the states but still... amazing job.
It's so weird seeing the straight line parts of Alabama's and Georgia's southern borders be the same line. The Georgia border starts where the Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers meet. Alabama's is a bit further north (There was a long dispute with Florida when Florida was Spanish). The western border of Florida is the Perdido River, where that smaller bay between Pensacola and Mobile is. The little pivot at the top of Alabama with Mississippi is following the Tennessee (Originally wasn't part of the border, but it was easier to access from the Alabama side, so it was handed over). Georgia's northwestern most point is just shy of the Tennessee River near Nickajack cave (There's a sizable bend in the river). There was a big lawsuit where Georgia was trying to gain access to the river. Georgia and South Carolina's border is the Savannah River, but North Carolina's and Tennessee's is a ridge. There's a road parallel to Tug Fork that forms the southern West Virginia border.
I cried when I saw him draw Florida and call it pretty good. You just drew a straight line for most of it when it’s only until it reaches the Alabama/Georgia border, there’s a dip into lake Seminole before becoming a straight line again for the Georgia/ Florida border going till it reaches the st.marys River where it follows the river for the rest of the border creating another mini dip before becoming the final rounded part ending at the Atlantic.
Bro you cried at Florida? I live in New Hampshire...
ND forgot MN bump at red river
MN river junction
As a former Connecticutian I will at least be pleased that you acknowledged you forgot the notch.
this was a really interesting video and concept! lots of funny moments in this one xd
That was so impressive !!
this is insane
We all want to see Jake Lyons do this with Indonesian kabupaten, right

Ohh!! He said my hometown in a video! Shout out to Leesburg Virginia haha!
Nicely done but would like to have seen more analysis at the end. Cheers.
Pike County, KY is not part of West Virginia, lol
I personally think you should make a video RE-DRAWING the U.S. state borders to make it more *neat*. Weather it be dropping states, combining them or even creating new ones.
You forgot the San Juan islands in Washington! Did better than me though, I only got 4150.
The quiz doesn't require drawing any islands, just the main part of the state
Idaho is bigger than I thought lmao
Beautiful. There was never a "bad tracing job."
Edit: maybe WV, but they gave you the hardest state right up top.
We should just claim the area between Idaho and Wyoming and make a micronation call bigbeefcowland there
I live in Pennsylvania and I almost became a Marylander from these borders😂

My state was the worst!!!! :(
Very impressive otherwise though everything out of new england id have no idea what cities or mountains are what lol
HE IS UNDERRATED SO WHEN HE SAID SUBSCRIBE I DID
People who live on the north end of Pine Island on the west side of Florida : 😡🤬
I know you like to be precise - you called the little deformity between CT and MA the “divot” and we call it the Notch around these parts!
You said my hometown the quad cities
bro sounds like he inhales some crazy gas before he speaks lmao unnaturally deep voice
That's just how my voice is my guy
Apologizing for MN after the atrocity NH was 😭
He looks like Julian Alvarez
