How many miles did your engine at the time of rebuild have? How did your thrust bearings look. I have been reading about mrk6,7 having big big problems with thrust bearing because of modified clutch. I am doing mrk6 rebuild because of catastrophic thrust bearing failure. My mrk6 is apr stage 3 gtx2867r. Any info would be appreciated. Nice gti

I have a stock 2016 Volkswagen Passat SE 1.8tsi with a trip tonic automatic transmission 6 speed I looking to do a motor swap fully built motor A-Z bottom and top end I’m trying to get answers on what year and model some say the gen 3 Gti more but need as much information to get this going! PLEASE HELP
Running pops and bangs tune is just going to eventually blow that motor again in some way or form in the future. The owner should really get rid of that tune. It's fun to run, but not great for the engine though.
@@jamesclayton4378 stock internals can handle around 400-450 ft.pls of torque. its the torque that kills. these motors handle 500hp no problem if the torque is managed well (look at APR's big turbo dyno sheets.)
my 2010 gti engine code cczb was at 380whp 650nm was working perfect for 10months 0 issues and then 1 day normal driving at 2k rpm piston 3 welded to the valves,got it rebuilt(with stock parts due to not being able to afford forging it)(cncd head/piston holes/resleaved/and all internals changed) blew up again after 3500 kilometers piston 3 flew out into the oil pan.I firmly believe 2nd time was the mechanics who rebuilt it fault.but yeah from day 1 i was told to upgrade valve retainers and valve springs for anything 300whp+
It's all going to depend on what state your motor is in now and what mods are done to the car already. Really too broad of a question for a good answer. 😅

This engine was built to be abused, I guess none of you have seen others in this world taking a fresh engine straight to the dyno and on to racing. Break it in how you plan to drive it. The tuner said to use the same tune for break in.

Dogbone. The engine is transverse so the engine torques front and back.
Looks like Black Forest Industries engine mount. Most likely has an aftermarket dogbone insert as well

Get the R. I have one and a mk4 gti. Love them both
If you want a GTI, get the MK7 or MK7.5. Supremely better and more reliable car over the MK6. The same goes with the Golf R in terms of generations.

What power level can the stock motor handle? Versus now with the built motor? Also what fuel and turbo and clutch setup did you go with?
