Great video. Followed this step by step and was able to replace the thermal paste for my MacBook. I had a bit of issue putting the black connector at 3:10 back into place. After 10-15 minutes of using my MacBook which couldn't detect the battery and I thought I had broken it, I found out it hadn't slide in all the way. Used an eyebrow plucker to slide it in and it worked perfectly! Thanks so much.

Removing the back was tricky I think pulling down from the part that is a bit open would be helpful. After I proed it loose by running a heavy guitar pick around it I found in mine there are small clips so when I put it back I had to slide them back on to get it to close properly

Very usefull video, thanks a lot. Only one thing what is missing, and it could be a life saver... After the assembly my Mac can not boot, everything seems dead. The power button is not work for me, the trackpad also disfunctioned. I thought maybe made a mistake when I connected the keyboard ribbon cable, but after recheck the situation was the same. When I connect the power cable, the trackpad start to clicking. After that I made an SMC reset (Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the built-in keyboard, then press the power button), and voilá, the Macbook worked correctly.

Hi! I have a problem that the service centres right now haven't exactly been able to diagnose. It's these horizontal lines that keep appearing on the top and the bottom of my MacBook screen when I use it for quite a long time of 4/5 hours or play movies/use heavy software etc. They disappear if I let the Mac rest for a while and the display is then back to normal with no lines. My Mac did suffer from a heating issue once so do you think the problem is with the LVDS cable or something of that sort? I own a MacBook Pro 2017 13" model. I'd appreciate any help in diagnosis :"

But in intense usage, graphics design, the laptop heats up HOT. i was thinking of getting a cooling pad. Knowing there isnt any vents on the bottom. I wanted to remove the bottom, yes having everything exposed, but have a hard shell case on it. The hard shell case has vent gaps that the regular back plate does that? Do you think that could help with cooling during heavy usage? Or do you think it would be a hazard for dust and debris and make the endeavor not worth it? It's only at my desk and will only be like this while in heavy uses. All else, would be with the regular plate on. Wanted a second opinion.

Goodness. 2011 macbook air was such a breeze in contrast to the process for this one. I'm getting a cooling pad to further test without the back panel, but with the hard shell still on. @@ItsBinhRepaired Two untitled SSD's show up. It was untitled when I bought it. Never attempted to do anything. I am not hardware literate, but I am not ignorant. Know a little bit. When I try the erase in disk utility it says "action cannot be completed", which makes me assume that I am in need of new SSD. But why did it come to this in the first place? I told you what I did. Is there an explanation to that?

    • @ItsBinhRepaired

@@kvardesh not sure. You have to have it show all devices and format the main one. Boot with internet recovery command option r it should ask for the internet. If you use the built in recovery you can't erase the SSD.
