    Funnily enough, I removed my motherboard for the same model in order to clean it due to a very similar, bad water accident, though I had the idea before to dry/clean the parts before rebooting. This video helped a lot with the removal! You explain things really clearly and make it simple, and are generally very pleasant to follow along with.
    I was wondering, what do you actually do with a Macbook like this?
    My screen is the only thing that I know is undamaged, but otherwise, after cleaning, it's too scuffed to even power on. I only know the display works because it briefly booted before bricking for good, although everything was cleaned and dried.
    Should I give it to some refurbisher to salvage parts? Or how would you go about diagnosing what parts are malfunctioning in a Macbook this damaged by water. Is it even worth replacing parts to attempt to fix it?
    Additionally: Should it work within minutes of plugging in normally, when the battery is completely drained?

      Usually it needs some charge, but you can try without the battery connected.

    Hi! I asked about the set to buy for screwdrivers a year ago. I’m back! I finally got the motherboard out and I only see one green spot on the BACK of the motherboard - 1633 54E. I'm not saying you are doing it the wrong way. But, warm water for cleaning the board is not recommended. Water is conductive and even you take-off the battery contact or there is no dc to power up the board, it may have still electrically charge components. We advise to use industrial alcohol, aside from non-conductive in nature it has more power in cleaning corrosions.
    Also, you saying "it is not the water that made the component shorted" (it is the flow of electricity that does it). It is in fact, the water that made the components defective. Without this water going thru the mother board, you wont have this water damaged scenario.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope, just the electricity. Also, try cleaning syrup with alcohol. Try dissolving sugar into alcohol.

    hi, at 34:13 is there a way to get that little black bit of tape to stick back down?
    i ask solely because i’m in a tough position with my 5 month old mbp, wont turn on, couldn’t avail of warranty in ireland as i moved to vietnam (€280 postage each way). So i opened the mac myself to check battery, but now i can get my mac back to ireland with a friend to avail of warranty. The only thing is that little black bit of tape over the battery (02:45) has lost it’s adhesiveness.
    I’m worried they will know i opened it to check and cancel my warranty after all this effort.
    Have you any tips?
    Thanks!

    I caused liquid damage to my macbook a few months ago. Immediately took it to a computer repair store for them to dry it out and help. They said a board was fried and weren’t willing to do any repairs. You can see just a very small portion burned. It never turned back on. I decided last night to try and charge it to see what would happen. I noticed that the computer actually got hot, so it is taking power. I know it has screen damage as well, in the bottom left corner. Should I bother replacing the logic board for $400+ and hope it works or just invest in a new macbook?
