    Thank you for the clear explanation. I do lots of DIY work on regular basis, so that replacing the battery was lots of fun. Watching the video as a guide is a real time saver. The need to adjust the position of the trackpad before fastening the screws was probably the only part that I would have missed if it wasn’t for your explanation. Thank you for this guide.

    This is the sort of stuff You Tube is made for. I just threw myself into this after been given a 2016 MacBook pro that 'didn't work' What i didn't realise is the complexity of the video and 5 minutes in i was thinking 'I wish i hadn't embarked on this journey'! By 35 minutes in i was thinking 'I am the man'! Which i clearly wasn't you are 'the man'! Hats off to you. Ow maybe just mention unless i missed it at the start that the batteries may explode as you take them out!!! Gulp sweat... Worked a treat. MacBook pro that is now working! Thanks again.

    Thank you, good sir. You got me back and running. The battery was expanding on mine -- there was a chemical smell being given off that I suspected was toxic or simply not good to be breathing in. I think I took a good 3 hours, being as careful as can be. I had an ooops moment when I accidentally pulled the tab off of the power strip! But after that I treated everything like I was handling dynamite! Thanks again, man

    Excellent video, but I do feel the need to emphasize just how easy it is to breach the battery cells while removing the adhesive. Even with an appropriate pry tool and careful, deliberate action, I ended up with a mess of torn battery casings and, yes, several small fires. Seriously unnerving, and somewhat embarrassing to confess, but perhaps it will help to prevent a similar experience for anyone else.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, this exactly! Using non metallic tools won't prevent puncturing or causing fires. The battery is made of metals. Lol Puncturing it with anything can cause a fire because the lithium reacts to the air, not the tools.

I did manage to completely mangle the old battery trying to get it out though. After installation, I turned it on and worked fine but then came back to it 30 mins or so later, while connected to the charger. Double check the ribbon cable is in all the way and the latch is down. Also check that the metal tab is centered with the gold contact points on both sides evenly showing. If all that is correct, you might have a faulty battery.

    This is a very helpful video. This design is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. I’m using enough force to pry this damned battery out that I could easily damage something else if i slip. Gluing in the battery? Wtf? I just replaced my Dell battery and it only took about 10 minutes of screwing and unscrewing.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it's a stupid design. You're not supposed to pry the battery out. If you watched my video, you'll see you're supposed to cut through the foam.

    • @schleprock000
      @schleprock000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, “prying” was a little inaccurate. I was actually ‘cutting’ it with little plastic cards that came with the battery. Stupid design regardless. Thanks again.

    Thankyou! I was able to replace the battery and it was working fine. But today I have come back to my macbook and it is dead and won't charge, it won't boot up and only flashes the charging icon for a few seconds. I've left it on charge overnight and there is still no change! Any ideas?

      Either the connector isn't lined up, or the battery is bad or was damaged. Check the ribbon cable as well.
