Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I decided to go on a bike ride this morning and noticed my bike tire needed air and I had no idea why the pump gave so much resistance. Thank you!!! This worked!!!!! Now I’m going on my ride
I find that if I unscrew the presta value all the way open, when I put the pump over it and secure the pump with the lever, air is escaping. Whereas if I unscrew it just enough so that the air hisses out when I depress it, then there’s no air escape once the pump’s on.
I'll try this tomorrow, I've even bought a new track pump and got in a right temper with it, I thought it was my weak arms, also I've bent the valve and sealant keeps oozing out, I'm fed up
@@IvansBikesBmws Yea it worked earlier but I unscrewed the nozzle and took out the two pieces and now I cant get the rubber to go in all the way in order to to close it back for it to work properly.
@@IvansBikesBmws it worked! First time out on my old bike now for over 5 yrs! Tyres inflated! Thank you! Now to check the gears, not quite right somehow..
@thatpyraguy Over the time, the valve pin just need to be tapped to lose up and do what is is supposed to do. Just the way we hit car starter and it starts working. That's how I see it when I tap it with my finger.
If the rubber seal in the valve is older it can get wider and it will close the valve even if you tap it. So, the valve will be closed with the pin in and out and be partially open in the middle. The pump pressure will close the valve by pushing the pin in. Then, the valve core should be replaced.
Do you have any other work arounds? I have tried 3 tubes, none work, one not letting air in, the other 2 , the air escapes as soon as it goes in. A 4th tube has worked so it isn’t the pump.
*I did your trick which stopped the resistance, but everytime I pump the air is not going into the tyre, and I can hear the air pumping out of the valve. Helppp !!*

Actually not the 4th tube isn’t inflating either. Problem is air escaping at the connection
The tube at the presta is more narrow with air in the tube? Weird?
