  • Today we have one of the cleanest looking vintage Stratocasters out there, a Custom Color Olympic White from 1960! This one is all original down to the frets - no major dings or dents, no changed parts, and it plays wonderfully! The neck is nicely worn down and has a great slim 60s profile, and the Brazilian Rosewood slab fretboard really gives that perfect tone that is so sought after. For amplification today, we're doing something a little different - on the Fender side we have a 1962 Bandmaster cabinet with '63 Jensen C12Q speakers... powered by a cool little red Dr. Z Maz 38 Senior head with reverb. To top it off, we have our immensely talented young friend Nick Mardon in the house to do a few demos with this amp setup for the next few days, so enjoy this one and keep an eye out for the others!
    For more information about the guitar or amp, please check out:
    www.emeraldcityguitars.com/pro...
    (The guitar will be on our site ASAP, but if you're interested give us a call at 206.382.0231)

    I've got a Strat just like that!
    It was made in the custom shop in 2017.....

      Mine was made in Japan in 1982. Weird to realize it’s now way older than the guitar it was a “62 reissue” of was when it was made. If you get what I mean… :)

      @@davidkieltyka9 crazy....so the reissue is now a 35 yrs old guitar but when it was made it was a copy of a 20 yrs old guitar. I have a vintage reissue 62 strat in vintage white made in approx 2007 and its a beautiful instrument. Build quality and feel are easily on a par with my 2019 namm special edition custom shop. Shame it has a 7.25" fingerboard ratio and I just can't play it aswell as the larger boards.

    Kudos for mentioning Sean. Big, big player and super underrated. And great demo. Very hendrixy without being a flat-out cover...
    Definitely one of the best uploads yest.

      @@nickbruni8041 He fiddled with a few tunes. The progression in the beginning was little wing-inspired, for instance... Really dig that type of approach- always on the edge, but never crossing over.

    I remember in 1978 I used to get a flyer from Redbank New Jersey, where you could buy a pre CBS Stratocaster for $1,900.

    Can’t tell if it was the amp or the pickups that were shrilly- even on the neck pickup.

    Is that really olympic white or a faded sonic blue that turned white?

  • @omrixeren
    @omrixeren 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Sounds thin. Either how you positioned the microphone or you just need to play it through an old fender amp for the tone. This strat could also be bad apple i guess, i'd just rather believe it's amazing.

I feel the vintage guitars are ridiculously overpriced .There I agree with you but to say they are no better then a squire is honestly just a troll comment by you. GOOD LUCK
