- I decided to try this collapsible/ telescopic fishing pole I saw on Amazon due to its portable properties. I was very surprised by the quality and versatility.

The bottom also extends out for more leverage below the reel. Unscrew then extend down.

I got it off wish and just got mine and put some line and stuff on it ASAP. Feels nice, mine was only I think 30 bucks but it didn't come with a case or line just a bag, rod, and reel.
Wish I could say I got a chance to even cast my 210 (2.1m/7ft) combo. Alas, I didn't get past spooling line onto the reel. The rod was supposed to be 9 sections w/ 5+1 guides, but it was 8 sections and 4+1 guides. But still marked as the 210 (so it wasn't the 'smaller' version sent by mistake). Then to add to that issue...spooling line onto the reel produced the most horrific noise. Absolutely silent until any tension was put on the line to spool the reel. Closer inspection, I found the line feed roller arm was CRACKED! So the roller, under tenstion, must be moving and rubbing something. Hence, it's all going back to Amazon!!! Too bad too, I really liked the look/feel and smoothness..but won't do my any good sending all that noise down the fishing line.
Glad you had a better experience. Although, if you had the 240 (2.4m/8ft) as it appears you have...you were supposed to have 7 guides according to the manufacturer's chart.

I’ve been wanting one of these to be able to take easy on my motorcycle since I’m always on it. Sometimes I like to park it in a forest preserve with a nice lake or river and just relax and now if I get one of these I can fish. I was wondering if they were worth it. Looks to me like I will give them a shot.
Look I to the kastking black hawks rods they have all different classes of rods and weight. When on trips I take one with 1000/2000 size reel and strap it to my sisy bar bag never had any problems with them.
you can a similar rod and reel that’s retractable at walmart for $20, spinner reel and retracts down to little less then 1ft long. Not sure if it’s worth spending the time with it but looks cheap and quick if needed.

The sougayilang reels are great. I have 2 of the same exact reels. I've used them for over two years ultralight trout fishing. I did buy a sougayilang telescopic rod and it's nice also. Sougayilang is probably just as good of a product as Kastking. At the very least. I've just ordered a Sougayilang ultralight casting rod for a Kastking zephyr bfs reel. I'm confident it will work well.

Hey man. Still going strong 💪. Just had it out before the crazy winter weather. 20lb line & 2oz weights (I believe). It's funny when I meet up with friends with the little briefcase and then I whip it out.
Bought the reel separately. Doesn’t really say what the appropriate weight is and I was hoping to find a video talking about the preferred line lb to use it with. Otherwise it is nice to have for a light set up or heavily wooded use
I got the 6.9 length. The rod says .5-10 pound test. I paired it with a Pflueger President 2500 and 6 pound.

I bought this rod even before seeing this review, it had great reviews on Amazon. I'm a novice and can't get it completely together. I don't know what that black circle cap is for.

I have 2 of these and I catch 10 lb salmon with these no problem. Not my go-to rod for salmon but it works well and it's compact on the go.
After 1 year is it still ok totally?
@@jacklong6614 yup both still in great working order. Only complaint is water gets trapped when compact and may stink if not thoroughly rinsed off

I actually owned one and plan on buying another. The only issue I actually had was one of the guides came loose. They use some type of glue to hold them in place. I abused the hell out of the rod though. I never had it rust and it's been in some nasty rivers. It's been dropped on sandy beaches, and I've dropped it in mud. Overall it is a very good rod and reel. I hooked up on a bowfin with it. It handled well.
