Those 4 piece rods are class mate, perfect for out, walking a river, or going around a lake, especially if you have to hike to a place. Great information in your video, I hope you're channel gets the recognition it deserves. All the best. 🍻🎣. Mark.
@Mark D Bowman Cheers buddy really appreciate the kind words, yea I'd say they would be great for long trips the perfect size to put away in the backpack if needed. Tight lines buddy 👍🏻🎣🎣🎣
Cheers buddy appreciate it. Yea class looking reel, so far I'm happy with it just need to bring it out a few more times and try get something a bit bigger, really test it out.
If you can find one, @@mikeoutdoors22 , and have a use for 3g - 12g rods, I highly recommend an Albatros Street Fishing Concept Series spinning rod. My only complaint is that it has the kind of handle where the shaft/blank is exposed, and so is hard to hold properly in cold weather...
I've only ever had fixed spool reels. I have never used these kind of reels that you are using here. Am I missing out? Should I go get one? What are the advantages? Any advise you could give me would be much appreciated.
Well buddy. Its something I was always told to try out and a few years ago I gave it a bash and didn't look back. They are very accurate when casting drop on the same spot every time. Definitely an advantage casting larger lures. And now i got into bfs fishing you can cast better in tighter spots little flicks, under arm cast the lot. It's hard to switch back to the spinning reel when you fish with a baitcaster even casting is faster less things to play around. It takes a little getting use to be when you do it's brilliant. Definitely not needed but at the same time if it's something you are thinking about definitely wort it in my opinion. Hope this helps you a bit 👍🏻
@@mikeoutdoors22 well that settles that then. I'm gonna get one. One last question. Do these reels work well with my normal rods or do I need a specific type of rod? I notice there seems to be a finger-rest behind the rod.
@@irishbiota6793 you need to get a casting rod buddy. They are designed with smaller line guides plus you can brake the normal spinning rod as they are designed to bend different ways.
Hi buddy, appreciate it. Minnesota nice, I'd love yo fish over there for small mouths and Musky. Yea since I got into BFS it's hard yo do any other type of fishing, it's so much fun. Best of luck in the spring buddy, won't be long now.
Hey Mike great video as someone new to spinning it would be great to get some more knowledge on the casting weights I realise that a big pile could take a small lure but it makes me nervous getting my first proper spinning kit with 5-15g casting weight as I think but what if that big pile comes up I would hate to be out of control and then it goes and gets tangled and dies because of it could you do a video on this kind of topic please many thanks for the great content I’m learning a lot. 🙂 Phill
Hi Phil, cheers for the comment buddy, yea that's a good idea for a video. What are you going to be targeting Pike or Perch. The light gear is not necessary for perch I catch them a lot on my 15-50g rods when I'm after pike but when you are targeting Perch only the light gear is brilliant you can use ultra light jig heads and make the lure move slower and make it more natural looking to the Perch. My go to for perch is 2 -10g. If you only want one rod for perch and pike I'd look for a rod somewhere between 5-25g or 10-30g hope this helps a bit but I'll definitely look at doing a video on it soon
nice review i think to buy 10-30 gram rod but i need to ask can i cast 30 gram lure with out harm or break the rod i'm begin to learn casting a few months ago and need to know if can ?
Cheers buddy, I'd say there should be no problem casting 30gr on that rod. The rod I is only to 15gr and I was casting around 30gr on it just to see if I could do it. It was a bit soft but handled it OK. I'd say the 10 - 30gr should be the same.
Nice video pal. I have a piscifun alijoz 300, amazing reel! There's some great stuff coming out of China, they love their fishing over there so they don't mess about. There's a lot of tackle tarts out there that turn their noses up at it but at the end of the day I'm the one with money left for diesel and a pint after a session 😂
@david hunt Cheers buddy, yea man I'm loving trying out all the stuff on Ali Express, so far iv had very little to complain about. I may give that reel a look soon. Tight lines buddy
I purchased the same rod and reel that you have I can see that yours is working pretty great minds ended up showing up with the real broken and rust on the gears on the inside be careful when you purchase things make sure you be able to open up check them all out before you even try to use it hopefully I could give you good advice on checking the merchandise thoroughly also it was missing the O-rings on it so it could give it pressure for the brakes
That's not great at all buddy, yea I took it apart before I used it, I normally do with anything I buy even from big brands. I wonder did you get one that was already a return. Very bad on there part hopefully they look after you.

Cheers buddy really appreciate it. I'm pretty happy with the reel myself. I'll definitely try get a few more pike on it soon. Tight lines buddy 👍🏻🎣🎣🎣
According to mine,@@mikeoutdoors22, the caring weight is 0.8g - 5g; I guess yours is a heavier model...?
@NobleKorhedron yea mine is definitely the heavier model. I have the 0.8 - 5gr in the spinning rod. Great crack on perch and jacks

How do you cast as mine only reels backwards
Not sure buddy as iv never seen a baitcaster reel backwards. There is lots of videos on TH-cam showing the best way to start using baitcasters.

Does it consist of four parts?
It's a 3 piece buddy

Good vid! is the tip Graphite mate?
Cheers man. I believe so very fast tip but a soft rod. I'm after having a few Jack's on it the week or so and great fun.
