- This video is created to show how to setup your cheap affordable Sougayilang Fishing Rod And Reel Set. Setting up the Fishing Rod using what is included in the package that i ordered.
I got this set from "Shopee" so if you have Shopee app or even Lazada, just search for "Sougayilang Fishing rod" and you can find this basic Rod and Reel set or any other product under the Sougayilang Brand.
UPDATE: The actual link to this product has been remove since the shop owner already removed it from their shop listings. But still feel free to browse from the shops for their available products or promos for Sougaliyang brand.

Nice work on tying your first rig.
To have fun fishing in the future, please consider NOT cutting your line directly above the knot: nylon line has a good bit of "give" to it (it is flexible), so leave about a centimeter (half an inch) standing when you cut line after tying a knot. That way, if you happen to catch a fish, it is more unlikely you may lose it to line slipping through.

I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

Pano po ang set up sa pier fishing lang?
Wala pa po akong masyado experience sa pier fishing. I tried bait casting and floater setup before. But much better if look for the tutorial from the legit experienced anglers. Thanks 👍🏼
how many grams does your sinker have?
The sinker that i used on the video is 5 grams. But i also use 2 and 4 grams depends on the setup, mostly just for lake side and river fishing. 👍🏼

Yes sir, pwede mo un-screw yan. Pihitin mo lang ung knob sa kabilang side nung crank arm tapos un-screw mo. Tapos hugutin mo ung crank arm at pwede mo silang change position. 👍🏼

May maliit at malaki ung stopper, pero pwede ka din mag improvise. Pumiraso ka sa lumang tsenelas tapos tusukin mo sa gitna ng malaking karayom para may butas para sa line. 😁👍🏼

Buong buo pa sir! Every other weekend ko sya nagagamit. Naka ilang palit na ako ng line at mga swivel at accessories kasi minsan sumasabit talaga ung hook at kelangan putulin na. Mostly sa freshwater ko ginagamit ilang beses lang nagamit sa dagat.
Ung Rod at reel ok na ok pa. Ung sa Rod ngalang nagkakaroon na ng kalawang ung sa guides nya, pero hindi naman naka affect sa function nya. 👌🏼

Is this set applicable also on saltwater?
The rod and reel will do fine but i think you need to change your line and lure setup for proper saltwater fishing. Just dont use the rod on tackling bigger or stronger saltwater fish as there is no indication on its capacity. Remember it is just a budget fishing set. 😎👍🏼

Reel looks cheap
Yes! It is cheap. $8 or ₱400 Php cheap for a complete fishing rod set. Same price of a set or single lure. Hehe 😁
It might be cheap but it does the job. Not bad for beginners who are just dipping their toes into fishing. Practical and economical. 😎👌🏼
