Some things would be different, we don’t really use old bottle caps for soda other than the special glass bottles, so we would probably use the new plastic bottle caps you find on plastic bottles from the checkout refrigerator at stores
My little brother's been collecting bottle caps, and now that we're moving, I wanna make some proper Nuka-Cola caps for him. Super helpful, thanks for making the video!
i was going through this cause ive recently taken a liking to Seagram's and Smirnoff green apple bottles and have all the caps, only to realize this vid is 8 years old. deserves more love ngl.
incredible look, super fast, and extremely simple. this is how i like my tutorial videos. i'm trying to turn a coke bottle into a nuka bottle and this has been very helpful.
Great tutorial, nice advice on concealing the edges of the paper. Using these as decorations for my etsy store page, already made a sunset sasparilla, nuka/nuka cherry with many more to come. Much thanks :).
Bobsy Tale Okay I'm following you from now :) In a couple of hours I'll start the work Edit: It would be nice if you start to upload videos again :) (And sorry for my errors, I'm a non-native speaker xd)
Thank you so much for this tutorial you just made my life a lot easier on a photography project i am working on i was going to buy caps from ebay you just saved me a small fortune thank you
@@andrijaobradovic433 I've glued magnets on the back of them to make fridge magnets or drill a hole in the top to make a necklace, earring, or keychain
Thank I'm trying to make these for a cosplay I'm doing, plus I was wondering where I can get a jumpsuit like the one in fallout 4, but not with the stuff on it.
I used to collect caps but even after washing, drying and keeping them.with moisture absorbers, they got very dirty and rusted, is there anyway to prevent this so these caps will last?
If I recall correctly this punch is Martha Stewart brand, not sure if they still make/sell them. Most other punches can be held upside down to still get a view of what is being punched
@@BobsyTale ok, I will just try to find one, also thanks for the tutorial, my favorite part is this method works for all caps so I’m also gonna use the method to make some CoD caps for my older sister and her fiancé because they love CoD, I’ll probably make another comment when a make the Nuka caps in about a week (at the moment it’s too cold where I am) and say how they turn out
Only about half an hour of actual work, depends how many you make too. The only time consuming thing is letting paint and glue dry before starting the next step.
thanks. I guess some caps are made of steel which does rust. I used images like this as a reference s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/02/0c/38/020c38e506d523f03d9cb7d8158f2235.jpg either way it achieves the grungy wasteland look for aesthetic purposes. having the different shades made them appear more authentic and less 'flat' looking. Hmm that's not good :/ might need to find a better image or resize them yourself. I made sure they were an inch wide in order to fit perfectly on the cap. This is the outline I made for my own caps using references from the game i.imgur.com/Ixllj15.png
Yeah, if you have some on hand! The only real concern would be the Coca Cola logo showing through after the paper is glued on top which might happen with thinner papers or during the sanding/distressing process. But if you have Coca Cola or other already red bottle caps it would save a step in the spray paint process for sure :)
Too bad I don't know what these things are called in dutch so i can find them in the store and I don't have a color printer so I'd have to go to my grandma's house to print them in color it would be great for My bottle props or just too put in a pouch someone who can make that for me will make
It is a one inch paper circular punch I got from a craft store, typically used for scrapbooking purposes but it turned out to be perfect for this project! Since I was making so many caps it was easier than cutting them all with scissors by hand
I wish every video tutorial was like this - no rambling, no excessively long intro, just straight to the point and still easy to follow.
+Richard Watson yeah I watched a lot of tutorials that are 20+ minutes and find myself skipping ahead a lot. I try to stay concise! Thanks :)

Nvm
Now I’m curious what
May I know where did you buy your sealant please? Thank you :)
Either the hardware store or a craft store would have something suitable :)
I know this video is old, but i’m wondering if you can use lip gloss or nail polish?
Lip gloss no, nail polish probably would be okay though since it dries
What the name of the tool she uses to cut the paper caps? Thats the only thing missing.
That would be a 1 inch circle paper punch, commonly found in the scrapbooking section of arts and craft stores!

What colors of paint did you use?
A mix of black, brown, red, and orange paint to create different mixes of dark brown, light brown, and a rusty red/orange colour.
Hey where is your hole punch tool from? What is its name? I cant find it...❤
I got it from a craft store! Can also be found online as a one-inch circle paper punch

Well they do have to look dirty and rusty sooo
I put a thin layer of clear nail polish cuz I didn't have the spray or glue
that'll work too! very creative
