Fantastic! Been playing with dmx and qlc+ in the past few weeks so I am looking forward to trying this. Well done Danny and team.

I've followed this tutorial and was able to get a signal to QLC but I wasn't really looking to reprogram all my light scenes that I sequenced in Freestyler. I tried to use QLC to remap those triggers to output to a loop back midi and into Freestyler but spent several days without any success. I'm now using a secondary iPad app to send OSC to TouchOSC on my laptop using UDP and then remapping through TouchOSC to Freestyler via DMX. Not a fan of multiple apps and was really looking forward to using the new UI24R UDP buttons, but at the very least it inspired me to get control on the iPad finally.

Alright after fighting this for weeks I've downloaded a UDP listener and reverse engineered the command sent from TouchOSC and translated the forward slashes to a percentage symbol and BAM, it's finally working. Unfortunately it's only sending a momentary on release button and not on press. Wish I could change the function of the button.

Excellent video!! Is it possible to automate the UDP commands with the signal from to some channel? For example: associate a button to activate/deactivate with the sound of the kick.

    Hi, many thank's for tutorial.
I want use UDP command from UI24R to activate "flash function" for my scene. With virtual console of QLC+, pressing button flash my scene (like a preposition of my lyre), but activating button from UI24R by UDP is similar to toggle function.
    Why? What can I do?
    regard's

Once all is set, can you control it from an iPad or other devices connected to the Ui?

I'm curious about how to avoid the need for bringing an extra device on stage to set up. Right now, it looks like you're using the Soundcraft Ui24r, which communicates with a computer/laptop via USB or ethernet, which then sends DMX signals (5-pin) to your lighting units.
This is cool, but is there a way to run QLC on an android tablet, and connect via USB-c or USB-microB? If not, I think I'd rather stick to buying (and bringing on stage) a DMX controller, such as the Chauvet Obey 40. Otherwise, it feels like the Ui24r isn't really helping make things simpler.

I currently use a UI24r combined with a Raspberry Pi 3+ that runs QLC+ (this is not free for Raspberry Pi). It is mounted in my amp rack which is based on stage. I then take up a FOH space and do both sound and lighting from this app

Is it possible to use UDP commands to trigger the DMXis show buddy software to run their backing/lighting/video software?

Yes you certainly could. Several lighting systems will allow UDP triggers.

Hello, do I need to have some interface to be able to control the lights from the UI?

Hi! The USB-DMX adapter must be connected to the pc or to the mixer?

Is that Danny Olesh's voice in the clip?

If it's a soothing voice, yes it is, if you don't like it then it's not me.

Is this feature coming in the next firmware update?
