Soundcraft UI Mixer Access Control

This is the method that works for me. I've seen other methods in other videos, but I had no success with them. I'm using a UI16 with the latest firmware. I think there is room for improvement in this feature, but suspect that we will never see another update for this product.

this tutorial is exactly how my UI24 works. I too wish you could lock out the other auxes. I will give the iPhone to the band member and say mix your AUX1 to your hearts content and give them no other options.

The Presonus mixers are the only ones I've seen that allow the auxes to be completely locked down. My experience with those is very limited, though.

Hi I appreciate your help in setting up a standalone router to correct “connecting” issues. I have the ui12… the router is working nicely for all controls on my mini iPad …nice and solid, looking forward to trying at our next gig. I’ve disabled the hotspot and wifi in the settings ….cheers

Thank you for the video! I found this behavior very confusing because it doesnt really prevent the user from activating control of other auxs. Its more of a safety thing rather than actually access control. Soundcraft needs to fix this by adding functionality for real access control. Thanks again!

I totally agree. I would worry more about somebody accidentally pulling up the wrong mix.

Exactly! Looks like Soundcrafts idea of access control is to depend on the end users lack of knowledge on how to navigate the control panel since they can activate other access rights without barriers.

Have you tried the midi app that can be applied to the UI mixers? I downloaded the app and got the controller they recommended but I have no idea how to use the thing. Maybe you could do a video on it? 😊
