Learnings: 1. Use unique Camera Angles 2. Creative Composition 3. Shot variety 4. Use wireless transmission (makes framing easier) 5. Clean audio 6. use Lighting to your advantage 7. add movement in editing
Great video. Clear and thought out. There are somethings you will still need that you cant buy to make a quality video like this. 1. On camera personality 2. Storytelling 3. The ability to pick music to dictate mood and pacing 4. Experience I juat want to give people more realistic idea that getting all this gear wont make you him.
I would have liked that link for the wireless transmission. I literally upgraded my audio system like three times this year. Just ended up getting a DJI mic 2 because the 1 was getting transmission issues
the thing is this video is done wonderfully that watching it bewitched me thinking, hey yeah it it that simple just start. but then I realized what didnt count was setting up those whole scene.. look how great the lighting is in this video.. that took time to think about it adjust your aperture, and all and then the post production on this one... oh my...
Dawg, this video released two minutes ago. You couldn't have fully watched it without speeding it up to a degree where you can't properly comprehend it.
Wow man, you are awesome! Thanks for the inspiration, appreciate that so much. Due to your great tutorials I was able to start my content creation agency and now I shoot commercials for big brands in my country. I've also shot a commercial for Porsche, it was my dream since I started this journey 4 years ago. Thank you bro, you are the best, keep pushing forward!!!
Great video! One thing that I would add is PERFORMANCE. Shooting by yourself means that youre the whole crew, director and actor included so you got to perform at your best on the screen in order to tell the story you wanted to tell 🔥
I've been a member of FTF for 4 years now and I'm so happy that the business went to someone who really cares about it as much as Parker did (does). Thanks for more great tips @landonbytheway!
Wow! This video had such an incredible vibe to it. It felt like I was having a personal discussion with Landon. This video is nostalgia crystallized. Bravo!
so I was just scrolling through some material for a client shot by a videographer I usually work with and I thought "Damn that is good, I wish I can shoot myself like that, how does he do it?" and a few hours later I find your video. talk about perfect timing.
wow, you nailed it, I mean, I've been thinking about how talking head is kind of everywhere now, so including this cinematic kind of narrative work into videos adds to the quality of the content almost regardless of subject, I mean, always loved the channels content but this is just Peak. keep it up
Great tips! not to mention that even a drone is also such a great source of interesting angles. I was curious, how did you do the lateral shoot of the basket at that high? Overall... this aproach to onself video making, its kind of expensive. Can you make a video for the same purpose but for low budget? Thanks
So so good - all the little things in here, the short clips that SHOW what you're teaching without even having you say them... outstanding! Question: How'd you get the overhead shots? Looking down on the door, looking down through the hoop, etc.? 🤔
When i was a beginner i thought filming is all aboutfollowing someone with a camera now i know its all abou planing shots doing many angles. Every good shot would work as photography as well. Thats why you can film yourself without people noticing you did it all by yourself
I own that PGYTECH tripod and I used to own a C70. I would not be brave enough to mount the C70 on the PGYTECH and hang it off something. 😅 When you showed that, I had a minor cardiac event. 😭😭😭
I heard that CERTAIN EXPERTS who you MAY KNOW like to shoot cinematic projects in 60p, and actively adjust their shutter speed to control exposure, and then just downconvert to 24p and apply the proper amount of motion blur as an effect in post, because it's less trouble than messing with ND filters and they don't have to worry about ISO-related grain/noise or the f-stop changing the DOF. How do you feel about that?
Hi, I like your videos and a lot of them are so helpful👍. But why did you use this narrow anamorphic format? It´s so terrible to view this narrow video format on a computer/laptop or an iPad. I don´t like it. For me, it's just too narrow and has nothing to do with cinematic videos on a computer or iPad. Why you don´t use 16:9?
What a Masterpiece in under 10 Minutes.
Literally what I was going to say! 😂
The color grading on this so cleannn
That car-talking head shot was immaculate
JFK
What a production quality!! Hatsoff to you guys🫡
Learnings:
1. Use unique Camera Angles
2. Creative Composition
3. Shot variety
4. Use wireless transmission (makes framing easier)
5. Clean audio
6. use Lighting to your advantage
7. add movement in editing
And the most important one: Just start! Go out and create content. Actually learning filmmaking comes with practice!
Love the camera angles and creative storytelling in the process of giving 10 tips for creatively filming yourself.
Great video. Clear and thought out. There are somethings you will still need that you cant buy to make a quality video like this.
1. On camera personality

4. Experience
I juat want to give people more realistic idea that getting all this gear wont make you him.
the afford you put in to have different angle was just amazing
even your tutorials are cinematic and are told like a story. Well done.
Insanely well produced video. Loved it. Thank you
Would love an entire section of the course dedicated to shooting solo cinematic content. This is awesome!
Totally agree !!!!!! Please Landon 🙏🏾
This is one of the best videos I've seen on TH-cam. Ever. Wow!
Great vid! What suction mount & angle arms was that car mount?
Looks like a Ulanzi C006 suction cup mount.
Great tips! Thanks!
So solid, and such clean shots! Excited for where you're taking things!
Best cinematic tutorial I ever watched 🤩 still a long way to go but I have now a reference point of what I want to be able to achieve ! 🤩
Great video I think more videos like this should be added to the community.
I would have liked that link for the wireless transmission. I literally upgraded my audio system like three times this year. Just ended up getting a DJI mic 2 because the 1 was getting transmission issues
Thanks for you comment bro. That's the same thing I'm looking for. No link for the wireless transmission 😢😅
@@ederperez4480 yeah I get it the course is the main priority but they could be making extra money with affiliate marketing.
What mount did you use for the exterior of the car. Been looking for a good one and I’ve not had good luck
Amazing content Landon. You truly are an inspiration in every way.

The quality on this video is on another level
Landon has ugraded the channel to a new level
Great video. Love the new format!
I keep watching this video over and over it’s definitely well put together. Within FTF community this is what’s missing. We need more updated content.
This is fantastic, many thanks!
Great video! One thing that I would add is PERFORMANCE.

so I was just scrolling through some material for a client shot by a videographer I usually work with and I thought "Damn that is good, I wish I can shoot myself like that, how does he do it?" and a few hours later I find your video. talk about perfect timing.

So so good - all the little things in here, the short clips that SHOW what you're teaching without even having you say them... outstanding!
Question: How'd you get the overhead shots? Looking down on the door, looking down through the hoop, etc.? 🤔
Great tips. Thx
This was super cool.
Great video.. thanks for sharing
Great video. How did you do the ending shot with the basketball going up the hoop? 9:20
When i was a beginner i thought filming is all aboutfollowing someone with a camera now i know its all abou planing shots doing many angles. Every good shot would work as photography as well. Thats why you can film yourself without people noticing you did it all by yourself
What car mount were you using?
Great content. Thanks, man!
broooo thats another level! 🔥
Nice piece of advice thanks
I own that PGYTECH tripod and I used to own a C70. I would not be brave enough to mount the C70 on the PGYTECH and hang it off something. 😅 When you showed that, I had a minor cardiac event. 😭😭😭
Learning new tricks for upcoming month course in taiwan
Wow, super well done. 🤯
Love it! The hardest thing for me is just using a tripod I have to actually think, lol

hahaha I thought the first tip was going to be "get a good car" :D
🤣🤣
Valuable! Thanks!
Gold content. Thanks
