I watched this video 3 days ago and have been trying to do it for the past few days and last night before bed I finally got the card to shoot and I caught it and it was the best feeling! I got so hyped hahahaah thank you Alex! Much love :)
Awesome tutorial! One thing that helped me as a very beginner: focus on the middle and ring finger while practising to pull down with the pinky...in my case these two fingers always wanted to be a part of the movement and really concentrating on them to stay away from the deck helped me Maybe I was able to help some of you, maybe not :D
Cool lesson and the advice from the end was indeed one of the best things to keep in mind. As you said in other videos these fancy moves are not for show off, but to stand up. Thanks, Alex!
Wow, really excellent tutorial. Easy to understand explanation, right video length.. And nice building of each step. Can't wait to try this, and view your other videos. Thanks for making it!
Man, I do not comment often, but this is absolute gold! There is so much in this video! The move is sick, but the fact that you explain not only how to do it, but also how to use it is so useful. And the bigger picture at the end is the icing on the cake. I started magic last year while in my late thirties, I feel I have so much to learn and wish I had started earlier, and all your videos are so helpful. I am so grateful for all the content you put out there, so an enormous thank you!
thanks so much for the comment and kind words! ayy its never too late to start! magic is one of those things that you don’t need to be an expert at hard sleights to be a good magician! (although they are fun to practice) 🙏🍺🔥
What amazes me more about sleight of hand is that the sheer things you can do with a pack of cards with your hands. That concept coming from being a classical pianist. Artist and what not is that things you can do wit your hands is amazing. Some would say...magical
What you said at the end really hit home with me, as I have been practicing cardistry all day, and Wondering where I could honestly fit it in without making myself just look like just someone who can use a stacked deck
This is the best explanation of how to do it I've seen! I Personally have really tiny hands so I struggle with my pinky so I've trained my ring finger to do it - still getting there but so much better than before I watched this video!
Hi Man, I just discovered this video and it's only and simply "AWSOME"!! I just need to have time to do the moves (learn an learn for hours "or days"). Your tutorial is very "impressionant" (I'm French) I'm looking forward to see others videos from you , maybe less difficult; lol. I love card magic and this video is realy, realy one of my bests. Hope my English is not so bad (never using goolgle) Thx a lot. Regards; Jean-Marc
You are the best, Buddy Your videos are very productive I personally love them a lot Watching you is like the most productive thing I do during the panademic 👍👍👍 ❤❤❤
Thankyou sooo much. I have been trying to lean to do a top shot for a long time--I was beginning to think it just wasn't in the cards for me (pun intended). That is because I watched the wrong videos. You, showing the proper first position, has changed everything. I can do it now. Not well, but I'm on my way. Again--thankyou.
merci pour vos excellents TUTOS ils sont parmi les meilleurs que j'ai pu voir. la qualité d vos explication est remarquable MERCI ENCORE et dans l'attente des suivantes...
I've learned more moves, slights and routines on this video than all the videos I've seen in my whole life as a magician! Thanks for this Alex, I'ts a real cool vid!
The first position you talk about with the thumb and index finger is key! Once I got that the rest was much easier! Thank you so much! I am going to search out your course and buy it right now. Thanks again -:)
The one thing he’s not telling you is just how long this takes to master. No kidding. First you have to find just the right placement of the deck. It’s not exactly as he says. Second, it takes a while to get the hang of it. It takes much longer to be consistent enough to try it for specs. It takes even longer than that to catch it every time. BUT, it IS worth it. Once you see it shoot out of your own hands, like real magic, you’ll understand. Thanks for the tutorial.
Love your tricks and toutorials! Hve been your fan for a year and a half! I've been a magician for 4-5 years, and TH-cam does not have much to offer after a while, do you have any tips to where I can learn new tricks?
See who you are !!! You are the one who flirts with the evening with your words..and the evening loses a garment in front of you..It resembles you with the purity of your soul*** ... **and resembles it with your creativity Keep going and don't deprive me of your creativity * *********************************I LOVE YOU SO MUCH ****************************
That was a nice ending. I'm nowhere near that level yet, but I was think of a trick where you show someone a certain conrtolled number and later on say that the following numbers are going add up to that number. Idk. I'm just now relearning from a novice level, but I could see it working.
A solid object the same size as the deck of cards can help develop your strength in your hand. I have a lithium battery about the same size that I used
Ive been doing this wrong the entire time!! LOL I've watch Lenard Green DVD some time ago and think i know how to to that without paying attention to the details(It was a VHS convert quality) Thank you for making these tutorial, very easy to follow
One thing I found out whilst practicing this, which is briefly mentioned in the video but I didn't really catchup on it. The "throw" itself is coming from the release of pressure from your thumb, not the pinky, the pinky is only there to kind of pull it out. I was practicing it the wrong way at firs trying to push the card down really hard with the pinky, but there's actually not a lot of force required from the pinky itself.
Love your videos man down with COVID and decided to learn a new hobby and my inner kid came back out and said how bout magic ✨✨✨ 🎩 and your videos are more than just here's how to do it ... It's also hey here's how to perform! Liked subscribed and followed

The top shot is like the most addictive move ever!! I love playing around with the variations and you teach it well Alex
I watched this video 3 days ago and have been trying to do it for the past few days and last night before bed I finally got the card to shoot and I caught it and it was the best feeling! I got so hyped hahahaah thank you Alex! Much love :)
My pinky pain and you are the cause.thanks for tutorial.

Oh like jay sankey gimmic
He isn’t really learning anything new though, he said that in his Q&A video
thank you so much! took me just an hour to shoot the cards, but in order to catch face up or down in another hand that's whole other level!
What you said at the end really hit home with me, as I have been practicing cardistry all day, and Wondering where I could honestly fit it in without making myself just look like just someone who can use a stacked deck
Alex is a good magician.
Pulling in and out is my specialty
Thanks for the tutorial you are the best❤
Probably the best teacher i've ever seen
You are the best in card magic ... much better than anyone
I was looking at an old tutorial but I didn't know how to do the top shot. Then I saw this on my notifications!
Oh my. I am so inconsistent but when you get the flick right it's soo satisfying. Nice tutorial, thanks!
You are the master of cards
I all ready started on my pinky strength it is so good thanks
i was trying this trick and i couldnt catch it but i finally caught it and dropped the whole deck because i was so happy
I saw a lot of Videos how to do this shot, and this is the best one. Now i can do it also. Thanks Alex. Greetings from germany.
This is the best explanation of how to do it I've seen! I Personally have really tiny hands so I struggle with my pinky so I've trained my ring finger to do it - still getting there but so much better than before I watched this video!
What really helped me was I tried with half of the deck it is easier that way
Very detailed with progressive steps. I’m impressed at your tutorial style. I’ll definitely be watching more. Thanks!
This video alone is enough to subscribe. Good Teacher.
Man, that's sick, i just tried and it works. Thx

I've learned more moves, slights and routines on this video than all the videos I've seen in my whole life as a magician! Thanks for this Alex, I'ts a real cool vid!
Still trying to get the shot but the movement and grip I think I gotten the hang of. Nice tutorial ❤
Nice one again master 👌👌👌
you are the best this move is so cool thank you very much
I like using the top shot with the Fort Noc deck.
A very important thing is to press the pinky down hard! After paying attention to that part, the throwing part worked for me
The final note is very insightful!
wow alex amazing thanks
Alex is goals!
The first position you talk about with the thumb and index finger is key! Once I got that the rest was much easier! Thank you so much! I am going to search out your course and buy it right now. Thanks again -:)
