Saddest warden death ending zevran romance "Zevran lingered in Denerim for a time, mourning the loss of his love and working for the Fereldan throne as a distraction. Eventually the Crows came after him once again and he elected to take the fight to their doorstep, returning to Antiva. After four master assassins disappeared, the Crows readmitted Zevran--as their leader. What about the Leliana Unhardened ending? If the warden dies she goes on to write a ballad for the warden and it eludes to her suicide (before Dragon Age 2 - Inquisition came out)
I teared up a little but only because in one of my play-throughs I developed an attachment to him. Quite frankly I was disappointed in his reaction. I was expecting more emotion
I’m guessing in this play through he is king and well he’s already asking a lot by having the mages in that tower rule themselves so him not bawling it’s kind of understandable
@@stormysciophobia8846 I wasn't expecting full on crying but a teary voice at the least. He acts the same no matter your origin. Wow, this ending is actually really good. The fact that Alistair, the templar, who despises blood magic and has the whole "watch mages carefully" attitude branded into him even if he hasn't completed his training telling Greagoir that the new Circle will have complete autonomy is a big step.
The first time I played this through, I was like "Oh its okay, Alistair doesn't need to have sex with Morrigan....Riordan can take the final blow, nobody cares about him." But then....RIORDAN FREAKING DIED IN ADVANCE. AND I HAD TO SACRIFICE ALISTAIR. I was actually crying....I was like "WAAAAH :( RELOAD RELOAD RELOAD THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN." ahaha
Well honestly when the whole "A warden needs to die to kill the archdemon" thing came up I knew right away that it would fall upon either me or Loghain (in my first play through I conscripted Loghain after the Landsmeet while Alistair was getting king). So I did the Morrigan ritual. But I was a female so I had to convince Loghain to uh ... go do what needed to be done. I cringed hard through the whole thing. But when I saw Riordan falling from the archdemon I knew I had made the right call.
It's surprising, I was thinking, Alistair being the most openly emotional person in the party would be more sappy about this ending but this is a bit disappointing. There's no love in what he's saying, I wonder if they kept every other dialogue the same other than the "I thought we'd be together forever" line, which is sad...
Damn.. That's horrible. I feel so guilty for letting Morrigan do that ritual, but I was too egoistic to let Alistair or my warden die.. I couldn't live with this ending here
+LetzGoAntiSpe Me too. But I cried during the sex szene. I love Alistair so much... So I could not take it to see him making out with another women. But... I could not let him die... or let him live without me. *cry again*
How did you get that ending ? I mean ... the one time I was playing a Warden romancing Alistair without doing the dark ritual, he threw himself in my way to do it before I could do it because he could not bear the thought of losing me. He said that it would be his greatest act as king, and I answered that it wasn't the only reason that he had a duty to his people to uphold, and then he just said 'You're right, that's not the real reason - I couldn't bear to lose you' and then he charged before I could react. A genuine tear was shed before the utter hubris of that moment.
You either have to have a high cunning to be given the option to trick him so he can't sacrifice himself, or, you don't bring him in your party during the final fight.
@keatyton Actually, it DOES give you the sugary happy ending if you make Alistair sleep with Morrigan. Then neither you nor Alistair have to die, and for the (relatively small compared to Alistair having to sacrifice himself) price of Alistair having to have sex with someone he hates and also for the (again relatively small compared to you having to sacrifice yourself) price of you having to watch your boyfriend sleep with someone else, you and Alistair can both have a happy ending.
I'm glad I watched this, because now I don't have to sacrifice my warden to see what happens lol My wardens will survive and have half-elf babies with Zevran ^^;;
Omg this is what is going to happen to my Mage. How sad. ( yes I know you can get Alistair to have a child with morrigan or have Alistair die but my Mage would never do that. Not her type )
This is SO good game. When I finished the game it was kind of a bittersweet thing. I was happy that the archdemon was defeated, but at the same time sad for this to end ( This sounds freakish and no-life,but it had a great story and characters) Best story ever in game. they should make a movie out of this
Cried soooo hard at the end of this game. My Warden had just become engaged to Alistair after the Landsmeet...and then she ended up having to sacrifice herself to kill the Archdemon. (Cause I definitely wasn't going for Morrigan's plan) And I was not going to let Alistair sacrifice himself. So, I found myself with only one option left. Gahh...SO HEARTBREAKING.
@StreetlightEagle you have the option of asking riordan about that when you first release him from the prison. he says it's not just plain darkspawn blood, you need a drop of archdemon blood, and the archdemon blood that the Grey Wardens had stored in Ferelden was cleared out of the safe -- along with everything else -- by Loghain.
I used spirit dmg resist pots and had the troops melee the dragon and die. My mages attacked from a distance and I used the ballistas. Alistair just follows the group around because the dragon moves too much until the very end. Watch out for the exploding darkspawn!
No, thats what I did in my first game as a human noble. :) There was no way I was going to die or let him die. As a bonus, she is Queen of Ferelden. But I had to see all the endings...
@moarinternets if you talk with bodahn just prior to your first year (before the deep roads expidition) he will mention that your character is deceased, which had me pissed as my game happened to be glitching awfully during the arch demon battle so when i uploaded the save it still dubbed me as dead even though alistair had romanced morrigan, i would imagine you to encounter a similar conversational option.
@JammyGit07 no one mentions that your warden is dead. Anders mentions that "a mage saved us all from the blight" but doesn't mentioned she died doing so. I think it might be bugged. This warden had romanced Alistair, who is King and I revived the same line from Tegan about needing to return to see the Warden-Commander. I hear that those whose PC died and romanced Zevran got some acknowledgement of that from Zev. I don't have a save like that tho.
@LMAO614 You can marry Alistair if you're not a human noble. You have to make him harden. So when you meet his sister you have to tell him the dialogue option "People are only out for themselves." Or something like that.
That's cool. Maybe I'll try to get that part sorted out next time. I actually wanted to allow Loghain to do the grey warden ritual, but i was afraid that i'd lose Alistair :P
I completely agree... but you do get a hint of how affected he was at the very end when he says "you will be missed" and the fact that he's addressing a full crowd as the new King... I figure he's keeping it together just because he has to with all the people around. It would have been great, though, if they could have shown him clutching some personal affect of hers as he talked... and that single tear as he turned away would have been awesome. But... I'm a sappy girl, not a programmer.

I thought my "best" ending was hardening Alistair, making him marry Anora, and letting Loghain sacrifice himself. Alistair hated my dalish elf for letting Loghain live, but he doesn't run off if he's stuck marrying Anora.
Agreed but it's still bittersweet if you're a female warden in love with Alistair. I suppose it's ideal if you're a male warden in a relationship with Morrigan who performed the ritual and you leave together at the end of Witch Hunt.
The problem with that ending is you don't get to talk to anyone about how miserable you are about losing Alistair. That's what makes it so awful. The only person to whom you can say anything about it is to Wynne and even she doesn't want to hear it.
