Am I the only one who still mourns Mhairi? Because ever since her Joining, anytime I see her I'm just like "damn, she would've made a great companion."

I don't know, Ser Jory's and Daveth's deaths were very painful and unfair. Daveth's, because he was as altruistic and brave as Mhairi. Ser Jory's, because Duncan took him away from a happy life, without warning him he would never be able to return, and when the trickery was revealed and he wanted to leave, he was murdered by Duncan on the spot.
@@astrius4125 Agreed, but they just didn't leave a major impression on me. No idea why, but I just remembered routing for Mhairi. I think it might be because I'd already finished the first game and knew more about the wardens or something. It's hard to pin down, honestly.
@@dmsviola1 People statistically feel more empathy towards women and children's deaths and suffering than men's. What if Mhairi would've been in Daveth's or Jory's place?

Oghren's still the comic relief. Note that he doesn't care about the taunts - he heard worse back in Orzammar. At least this is good natured.

If people want to know where Alistair is if you keep him as a Warden, he was assigned to the "Thaw Hunt" with other Wardens. The Thaw hunt is the hunting of Darkspawn and taking back blighted lands. Some Darkspawn form war parties that destroy everything in their path while they flee. The Wardens that hunt them try to catch any stragglers.
I feel like I need a remaster of the whole DA series
By modern EA? they ruin the game with microtransactions and so on, these games run well on modern pc, no need for a remaster.
@@SuperKratosgamer they run like absolute ass. Origins has a goddamn memory leak. Ea is certainly bad but a remaster would be appreciated as long as they don't fuck it up too bad.
@@samreddig8819 oh yeah, without a 4g patch the game is fucking impossible to run without crashes and even then it is poorly optimized for big battles or big places like Denerim where your fps goes to shit.
imo a remake like demons souls would be awesome. keep the story and gameplay the same but redo the game in a new engine + add some new stuff

It always bothered me that he is leaving and doesn't kiss his wife (if they are married) except on the cheek, I assume it's because if you are romanced so..mistress there's still this scene maybe, still silly. Also makes no sense imo that you as the commander are being plotted against for murder, find out there are a weird brood mother and the architect and don't contact SOMEONE especially I don't know YOUR HUSBAND he's only in the Bannorn, I mean we've seen the map of Fereldan, it's not that large lol he could have sent some guardsmen to help defend the city.

He really is very similar. A little more snarky and slightly more bitter. I loved his character in Awakening. I was so excited to romance him in DA2 to get my "Alistar type character" fix... Did not go as intended. :( Romanced Fenris instead.

I played an elf and a mage, then romanced Alistair before making him a Gray Warden, so I never got this scene. But I was curious for the King route during this part. It's super cute. I miss him in my game already.

It's always interesting to see what scenes you miss when you make different choices. I agree with your sentiment though wholeheartedly. I miss Alistair, he's a good dude. And you're welcome! I did this because I wanted to preserve a piece of my first Warden's playthrough, and I'm glad it's helpful for people who made different choices to see what happens if you make him King and stay in a relationship.
I personally headcanon that if Leliana becomes Divine at the end of Inquisition and makes it fully legal for mages to marry and have all the same rights and freedoms as everyone else, Alistair finally marries her (or any other non-human noble Warden that romanced him since she gave more protections and legal freedoms to non-humans as well).

The expression/body language she has after he pulls away is disturbing (4:56). She looks like she's cringing.
I don't remember everything that went down in Awakening, but were the Orlesian Wardens missing since then already? If so, that's some serious foreshadowing. In fact, I noticed that Dragon Age Origins and its expansions have tons of foreshadowing for inquisition.
The Orlesian wardens were, in all intents and purposes, either wiped out after the fiasco of Vigil’s Keep or almost completely wiped out which is dependent on whether or not your warden survived Denerim via the Dark Ritual. Also there wasn’t a whole lot of foreshadowing for Inquisition but there was some definite build up for DA2 particularly chapter 3 of DA2.
Golems of Amgorack is not really relevant except to introduce us to the harvestor (and that fight can be made super easy or super hard) while Witch Hunt introduced us to the Eluvian if you have not done the Dalish origin.
Back to the Orlesian Wardens though one was out looking into a very serious lead which almost ended with his death, the Warden Commander picks it back up. Another Orlesian warden was captured by the Architect and had both of his legs broken and asked to be left behind so he’s dead too. All the other Orlesian wardens that were still at the Vigil during the complete muck up made by the Architect were killed after being overwhelmed.
First time I had a mage, but I didn't convince Alistair to be my lover as a king. So I couldn't have this scene in Awakening. I red somewhere that's because I should have "cooled" him a bit by answering that "we're all alone" in the dialogue with his sister. is it true? What's the best way?
Aloona A year late, but you have to harden him during his sister personal quest. You have to say “we’re all alone” or the slightly better option, “you shouldn’t let people walk all over you” or something along those lines

Another thought I had while watching this... In my original play through I kind of sped through and totally forgot you can give him to the Templars. I was curious if that would alter the story arc in DA2. I looked it up, and nope. Everything still goes down the same way. :\
Bioware: we give you choices, but they're not really choices.
That really is a true shame. It would have been wonderful if our important decisions actually had such an impact.

he doesn't show up in this dlc I'm pretty sure.
If Alistair is not king, then he will show up in DA2 as a warden during the Qunari war, and again in DA:Inq in place of Shroud, a warden not affected by the call. (all i shall say to stop spoilers.)
I just finished Origins. I did not make him king and he killed the archdemon (which in turn killed him as I did not do the ritual with Morrigan), even though I tried to sacrifice myself. So, I too am wondering what happens in Dragon Age II and Inquisition. Honestly, I think I am going to replay and do whatever needs to be done to keep him alive, because his death was epically depressing.
Yeah, his cameos in the other games made me so happy. As much as I like being Queen of Fereldan (just because it seems like the most logical outcome), he has the best cameo in DA:I if he's not made king. I would definitely load an earlier save and do the dark ritual so you can experience all his awesomeness in the other games.
As said before, you don't see him in Awakening, but you gain a cameo in DA2 and a beautiful dialogue in Inquisition: he talks about your momentary separation because of your mission to find a cure for the taint. And that you discussed about it. He also says that you are "more than he deserves" and he was the happiest man with you, after the victory. SSSSO MUCH LOVE! : D
I'm so curious because I killed my warden off at the end, so I'm wondering if I do awakening if she'll even be alive? Will I play as someone else? So weird to think about.
You will play as a Warden from Orlais if your warden died in Origins.
It sucks that those who romanced him and are living with him as a Warden don't at least get a goodbye or a letter or something from him. That's why I love mods.
Should I play Awakening first, before Witch Hunt?
Origins > Awakening > golems > witch hunt
Recommended Levels for each. (NON MODDED) Origins end: 20 > Awakening End: 26 > Golems: 30 > Witch hunt: 32. I got (not modded) 28 for Origins and 36 for awakenings end, so i skipped Golems as ive already played it enough.
I've got 25 lvl at the end of Origins (because I was giving elfroot to the Dalish, which gives EXP), and ended Awakening at 35 lvl xd
Nice. I didnt do the Dalish elfroot thing. but i did pretty much all side quests in the game. really pads the runtime lol.
I did them too. But I was completing the game on 100%, so I ran to the previous locations where monsters were respawning xD But even if you do this, you won't have 25 lvl without giving items to the allies :v
*How did you get Alistair and your Warden to be in a relationship because when mines was in a romantic relationship with him.. he actually turned me down before the end of the game? So idk if it’s because I made some bad choices but I believe people can be in a romantic relationship with Alistair as a mage Waren.. but please tell me how you got him to be like that whenever you can reply back?…*
*Or if anyone knows how to get your warden mage to be in a relationship with Alistair then please tell me how cause what I believe is that you need a high enough coercion level by the end of the game (at the landsmeet basically -.-) to tell him to be himself and that he doesn’t have to follow what the rules tell him to do..*
Did you play an elf or human noble? If you play an elf, you will need to harden his personality to get him to stay with you if you make him king, but even then, he will only take you as his mistress. If you harden his personality as a human noble you can marry him and become queen as long as Loghain dies. You may be able to marry him as a human noble without hardening his personality but I'm unsure. I do know only human nobles can marry him and become queen. I left his personality unhardened, romanced him, supported Anora as queen at the Landsmeet, allowed him to execute Loghain himself, did the dark ritual and my PC ended up spending the rest of her life with him in the Great Wardens till they run off together, or at least that's what the epilogue I got said after Awakening.

It seems like Cullen is the female/nonhetero male fandom's favorite and I don't really get why. Don't get me wrong, the Commander is the second best option imo. He's just, I dunno, too serious for me I guess. Not that there aren't some fun fluffy scenes with Cullen. Maybe a lot of people are into the angst? Idk. Honestly, I liked Dorian's character better than Cullen's in DA:I, but his romance was a bit of a let down.
Now I'm playing though Mass Effect because so many fans say it's as good if not better than Dragon Age. It's not, as far as I'm concerned. And the romance options and interactions suck in comparison.
But, Alistair... So funny and sweet and just a good guy even though his early life was pretty crap. And his voice is amazing. Aw crap, I'm swooning...

If you are playing Mass Effect, romance Garrus......you will not be disappointed by the end of it all, trust me lol
I like having my heart broken and stomped on so I would have to say that Solas is probably my favourite. From a storytelling angle it's just so heart-wrenching and beautiful. Plus, Solas did this weird thing where he got more attractive as the game went on. When I want to feel good and have a happy ending I go for Cullen lol keeping Alistair as a warden is the best relationship outcome, but I like to put him on the throne so I never have to make hard choices later on and I get better cameos. So I only get a happy relationship if I'm Cousland. If I'm not a Cousland, I get to headcanon a passionate love affair with Nathaniel.
Blackwall is my honest favorite.
I Think it is because Cullen has gone trough a lot, from all the characters in inquisition,
I mean, take a moment to consider It: He has been captured and tortured by blood mages and demons who spent days trying to break him and control his mind, while being denied food and water - And let's remind that a blood mage's torture is something really nasty, even compared to normal torture, since they can reach your mind and find weaknesses in your memories.
He has gone to reabilitation and was able to became a full templar
He saw his knight comander and the order who he had put so much faith and confidence after the events of the circle of ferelden goes corrupt and plagued with the same level of madness that he saw in uldred
Not to mention that he has being plagued with nightmares ever since the events of th ferelden circle
And after all that, he stoped taking Lyrium, whithstooding all the colateral effects of the whithdraw, worsening his nightmares (by A LOT) and giving him 24 hours per day chronical pain while keeping a straight - and somehow exemplar, comand of the inquisition armies.
I mean, can you name any other caracter in dragon age series with this level of mental strenght? for all things considered, he should at least be bitter with everything in life, if not mad crazy right now. but he withstood and overcame everything agains't him becoming an example of a good and gentle person, and someone who fights to do what it's right, for templars and mages as well.
The guy deserves some love, that's why i think he is considered one of the best romances

I believe that is indeed the DA:O Awakening DLC. It is the only Origins DLC I am aware of that introduces Anders (the mage that just got signed up to be a warden)

He doesn´t when you have hardened him after meeting his sister. Look out for the line "The world is bad, take a stand for yourself". Then during the dump conversation you can convince him to continue your relation ships against all odds.

Oh! I can understand the confusion, but My character isn't married to Alistair. I "harderned" him in Origins (picked a dialogue option that changed his outlook and how he'd react to things going forward) and had my character persuade him to keep my character on as his mistress.
Side note: And canonically they never say if he takes on a wife if that's the case (unless you persuade him and Anora to get married which I didn't do in this particular playthrough) so I like to headcanon that he never did and for all intents and purposes my warden is his wife, but officially she's his "mistress" and she doesn't hold the title of Queen.
Not a mage, but a mistress! A mage elf or human, elf, or dwarf can stay with Alistair when he’s king as his mistress if you hardened him after meeting his sister.
LittleBlackDragon doesn’t our mage wardens who remain with Alistair technically hold the title of Chancellor/Hero of Fereldan AND Warden Commander? I say we do a good job at breaking the rules.

After all Ferelden is a backwater Kingdom that doesn't even make a decent cheese.
Where as the Wardens enjoy judicial power , reputation , and fame that stretches across the entire world. Hell even the Qunari respect the Wardens.

@@terra_the_nightingale135 It depends on exactly what origin your Warden has. Dwarven Wardens of the Dwarf Commoner Origin and of the female persuasion can end up as A Paragon , Commander of the Grey , Chancellor , Mistress of the King , and Hero of Ferelden .
Not a bad resume if you ask me.
@@clothar23 pretty neat. Mine was Surana and one Amell. So always a mage lol. And ended up Chancellor/Hero/Mistress/Commander. Being a Dwarf just adds another big title. Or then there’s the Queen lol

Any of the wardens romanced by Alistair can become his mistress when he is King, if you decide to harden his personality during his personal quest. You can marry Alistair as a Cousland warden but you can also chose to be his mistress, if you don't want a Warden Queen. Whether or not he is married to Anora wont interfere with your relationship if he is hardened and is king.
