I just got this scene. Alistair broke up with my Warden and I didn't even know they were together. Like, my Warden was full on romancing Zevran, they're in love, and here comes Alistair all 'We need to talk about us.' WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, DUDE?! WHAT US?! Admittedly, I may have flirted with him a bit at the beginning of the game and when I gave him Duncan's shield I said 'For you, anything.' But I meant that as two people who have been through hell together. Darkspawn besties. This was a awkward moment. XD
"Awkward moment" seems to be an understatement here haha!! "Darkspawn besties", love that lol I feel it would totally be something he'd say in a conversation somewhere.
WooW that would such great plot development, and the child would be the god like child and no need for the dark ritual to be performed Can mod creators create such a mod?
I love Alistair, but...then he pulls shit like this. And on my first playthrough, I sacrificed my Warden and didn't make him king. Then when I saw him again in Dragon Age 2 and ask about the Hero of Ferelden, I was ready to hear him cry about how much he misses me, but instead he just gives away his only possession of mine to some girl he just met. This boy.
same i was like ????? you just met hawke and you give away your precious wardens item???? i know it was meant to be cool for our hawke to have something from our warden but damn that made no sense in reality lmao
Rat Bastard!! He ruined my entire game plan. I was going to marry Alistair, become Queen and rule with him as my puppet king. How dare here crush my dream! No more armor for you. Your going into battle naked.
They should've added a dialogue option: "Oh you're dumping me? When you spoke of Leliana as queen Stabbity Kill Kill, you were wrong." (Attack him). IF you kill him, you also get "Morrigan approves (+50).
It was confirmed on Bioware forum that children of Grey Wardens doesn't inherit the taint normally (that's way Morrigan had to get pregnat in a special ritual, she may be pregnat with your Grey Warden but he still dies without the ritual). It was also said that Grey Wardens can't have children by normal means. No one said it's impossible with magic, So maybe female Warden and Alistair can have a child with some magical help.
And this is what makes this game, and games that take the time to find GOOD voice actors, so amazing. Steve Valentine does an awesome job. Alistair is very emotional, and Valentine does an awesome job of making that virtual text make you feel all his emotions. Best fangirl character, ever.
First time I played the game... I played as an elf and romanced Alistair and when he broke up with me I was so devastated my warden committed suicide -_- I'm kinda ashamed of that now, I should've just killed him
I thought about doing the same. Sacrificing my character to save the world... Then I thought about sacrificing Alistair but.. I told myself I would be a better woman than that. I let both of us live. Idk maybe I was hoping he would come back to me after the dragon was dead. He didnt. I should've killed him. Grey wardens do have a history of killing kings. Lol
My elf was so sick of human bullshit, and knew that a life as his mistress would not be worthy of what she deserved. I was still so sad and regretful for the rest of the playthrough (especially the DLC when he greets you as king, ah, what a prick) but I was happy for my warden and put in canon that they ended up meeting someone later down the road, and together they lived a happy comitted life. She never truly forgot Alistair, but she accepted that their love was over. Memories to be cherished, not to be pined after
I laughed when that happend because my city elf was romancing Zevran and not him... Soo... I was a bit confused when he tried to break up with my Warden :D She enlightened him by saying "There never were a us, what the hell ya talking 'bout? o.o" He, now totally confused as well, told me that he thought there were more between them and asked if he were too presumptuous and my girl straight "Eh... Yes. I just liked you Alistair, nothing more". Well, if someone break someone's heart it's my Warden🖕🏻😁🖕🏻
My only comfort from this is imagining Leliana comforting my Warden as she's sobbing her heart out while Morrigan goes full-on Angelica Schuyler on Alistair's dumb ass. It would also help to think that Alistair had realized how badly he fucked up after the Warden died........

Wouldn't it be interesting if somehow, two grey wardens had enormous amount of luck and the maker blessed them with all his might and they managed to have a child? since it's just 'ALMOST' and not completely impossible. Wouldn't that child have the taint in his blood naturally? and by that, I would also guess that in those time in the womb, he'd grown accustomed to the taint that the usual 'early death' would no longer come? gosh I wish Bioware have that in mind and consider it. ^^

Right now, I'm playing as a female human mage, but I think I want Alistair to stay a grey warden for this particular playthrough I'm doing. I may do others. Can I have my Warden and Alistair stay together as Grey Wardens?
Yep you just need to support Anora in the landsmeet, kill Loghain and do Morrigans ritual. You’ll both live and both remain grey wardens and journey off together.
This breaks my heart... I'm glad my warden is a male... Alistair said that he needs a woman that will bear his child... is this mean he did not married Anora?
yup, you can stay with him. If you are a female noble like my PC here, you could marry him and become queen. If your PC is not, you could stay with him if you harden him and choose the right dialog options. I just chose the options here that would make him break up with you by default.
Grey Warden can have children with normal person. In the Calling said grey warden got pregnant with man not carrying the taint. It's just almost impossible for TWO Grey Wardens to have children together.
Ok so if you have everything right and if you marry him and you become queen and king and you told him to impregnate morrigan dose that possibly mean that your character and Alistair are still going to have a child?
Yes you can be together with him regardless if he’s king or remains a grey warden, and regardless of your race so long as you’re female: simply by choosing the right dialogue choices in this scene. Along the lines of (nobody can force the king to do anything he doesn’t want to) but only if you harden his personality. Then as king he’ll claim he can do whatever he wants and you can continue the relationship. Obviously he’ll still have to marry, but you’ll remain by his side as his mistress/lover. So in a way, there’s no good option really unless you don’t make him king. Otherwise you’ll have to share him with another woman and can’t be romantic with him in public. You’ll be his dirty little secret another words
Alistair is .... oddly similar to Bear Grylls from Man vs. Wild. Look him up. Ex. British SAS, irishborn Englander. I'm straight as a pin and can't deny the guy is hot, and could be Alistair's brother lmao. I have a bro-crush on him.
He’s unhardened here. You need to choose the ‘everybody is out for themselves’ dialogue on his personal quest to get him hardened and so he’ll accept you as his lover
OH dear god thank you lol. I was getting all bent out of shape. So does that mean your char can have a baby with him and he wont go to another woman to have a child...? I just wanna be sure i dont make a mistake lol.
I was sooooo mad at Alistair when this happened. I really felt betrayed. "I need a woman to have my heir. You are tainted by the darkspawn!" Good I had saved my game before the speech to Anora. I felt that something wrong could happen from this diaologue. So I just considered this scene as the ominous nightmare of my character. The morning, when she wakes up, she take her final descision to support the Queen. And everything goes as they should be :"Alistair is the king and I rule beside him"
aww, so sad :( i hope this doesnt happen in my playthrough, does this scene always occur after you make Alistair king? and is it possible to convince him to stay together with you ?
"we cant married you because of the tainted blood, but if you were a human noble....." why is`et there a "throw his rose at him" option

Damnit, I hope you can stay with him, i've been working so hard to get his love up!!! This sucks lol.
Man I love alistair but funny how a human noble with tainted blood can stay with him? Sooo racist and mageist😂
Is this only after you harden Alistair? Is there no way to stay with him after the Landsmeet other than becoming his Queen-Consort?
124Nightwing it’s if you didn’t harden him
He’s unhardened here.
I just wanna be sure i dont make a mistake lol.
will he break up with me if im not a human noble so should i just make a human noble account then?
ç.ç I have a mage elf and I'm soooo surprise by this thing...there is no way to avoid it?ç.ç it is so sad ç.ç.
I was sooooo mad at Alistair when this happened. I really felt betrayed. "I need a woman to have my heir. You are tainted by the darkspawn!"
Good I had saved my game before the speech to Anora. I felt that something wrong could happen from this diaologue.
So I just considered this scene as the ominous nightmare of my character. The morning, when she wakes up, she take her final descision to support the Queen. And everything goes as they should be :"Alistair is the king and I rule beside him"
*flails* so sad ):
aww, so sad :( i hope this doesnt happen in my playthrough, does this scene always occur after you make Alistair king? and is it possible to convince him to stay together with you ?
Oh okay I see, but would this occur if I'm still playing as a female human noble? cuz thats what i am :D
thats sad >.
@bloodymack15 I suppose you're right. I'm only a man.
why alistair :((
That...would be something nice to see.hehe.
THEN HOW DO U MARRY HIMM ??
@masencullen EXACTLY MY THOUGHT PROCESS EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE!!!
@clo9ud That's why I would have done. I'd be sad, but I'd be so, so angry.
Um..... why would you do this? O_O
That's why I corrupted his innocent boy heart and we are going to have hot treesome with Anora!
@sashaisabitch2
oh yeah,he is so sweet i love him
