I never did find a solution. I have seen people cut the vent section out of the 96-98 bezel and plastic weld it onto the new bezel. That was my original plan, but I've since sold the car.

Would a single din fit in there without any modification? Ive been looking to stash my equalizer and a spacer somewhere that I can have easy access to and this looks like the best spot ultimately.

I see that you use the left rounded buton in the dash to doing that, so in that case u can use to another function, and the mid gap u can adapt the hazard light retangular button.

No I have this exact one and it’s really really slow every time you have to start a hotspot for it to have internet and it’s really garbage for real. Reaction time from the touch screen is slow opening an app takes for ever. Gps apps work terrible they run really rough, you’re car emblem and the map isn’t even centered and sometimes at stoplights the map turns 180 degrees so you’re looking from the front to the back of you’re route. Basically everything but worth it it’s just slow Chinese crap it’s lots of work and you only get irritated by it so you’re better off with a great quality Bluetooth radio and a high quality phone holder 😅
If you use the 2000 bezel and climate controls, you have to pull your dash and swap in the 99-00 AC components that are behind the dash as well as the wiring. This is just an easier alternative for those who don’t want to do that amount of work.
You can also find a single din with a 10” touch screen with Apple CarPlay/ android auto (might not be a major name brand) lol. A/C will still have to be relocated tho.
lol you never mentioned what the wire hanging from the relocated ac was i rember you saying something about thoes usb ports is it thoes that are hanging from the relocated ac if so im totally fine with that infact i consider it a plus because you dont have to fiddle with any dam cigarette lighters just to charge your phone so all in all its got a bit of a modern look but still keeps the really old and specials parts of the car well know and not to dramactically modern like most other cars where they have fancy ass seats and shit i like the older cars and older looks better but the double din really dose clash with that car its perfect as the old radio was outdated and looked bad and witha decent clean up i must say it dosent look bad it looks pretty good so thumbs up to you man good job

Hi there. So I've watched ur video and the only down fall on my side is that my plug is cut off but I got it right to work. Only problem is that I'm struggling to back the illuminate backlight on my honda. So when I drive at night I can't see the volume up or down button. So I'm struggling to get the back light wire in the loom. But everything else is working fine. Thanks
I'm a hoarder and keep all of my OEM parts in the event I decide to sell the car, the new owner will have all the original stuff. They might not even care, but me as a buyer, I love it when people keep all the OEM stuff!
I have two 98 civics And both were converted over to the E K9 climate controls it is super simple you just need the basil and controls And instead of modifying anything just go to the junkyard and pull out an E K9 AC Box And you can remove your AC Box and install this one put your dashboard back in and plug everything in simple plug and play no muss no fuss. This is the absolute truth there ARE other ways Doing it you just a small wire harness from the E K9 ac box And the little actuator that controls the heater valve it boats in easy-peasy And the cable that controls the heater valve comes with IT .it.just bolts in. the AC boxes are identical. And as far as having to Modifying the bezzle that's absolute bullshit

This tutorial is for those people. For this setup, if you want your stock vents to work with this bezel you DO have to modify your bezel. No need to call bullshit there.

just letting everyone know, the radio bezel he has linked is NOT the right size it’s a little too small so the screen he has linked sits over the insert that it should go into.
Unfortunately it's not that simple. The 99-00 climate controls are electronic, whereas the 96-98 climate controls are cable driven. If you use the 99-00 bezel, you will have to do a bunch of wiring for the climate controls to work properly.

All the videos on this are LHD cars that are using the Facia for RHD, so we get lucky, plan on doing this swap soon so no worries for me.

On AliExpress for the radio panel it says left or right which one do I need I have a 1997 Honda Civic hatchback
It just means LHD or RHD. I don't think it matters since the bezel is completely symmetrical, but just go with whichever one your car is!

Two plugs come out the stock radio white and green dose the green plug not need to be used ?only the white power connector?
i know this us a year later but one of plugs are for the clock and the other is similarly useless with the screen

It just means RHD or LHD. I don’t think it really matters since the bezel is symmetrical.

This is useful, I had a 98 hatch, I ended up putting a single din Kenwood excelon flip out screen

The head unit itself screws into the bezel on both sides.

My hatch is a CX so it has none of those features. I do have the radio, but I keep all of my stock parts. Check your local junkyards!
About this gap between the vents you can adapt a hazard lights button to fit in. that will be beautiful!

9” is the correct size. I believe the one I used is now discontinued so the link goes to the 10”.

Totally forgot to mention that. I used a dremel with a cutting disc and then sandpaper to smooth out the rest!

Just swap out a 99-00 radio bezel and poof OEM and double din! They’re interchangeable!
