a real tech person that I would trust my CVT with . Really big thanks for the information shared and your super clear explanation . Although I'm struggling with my own CVT rebuild with local mechanics l that seem only to build their knowledge with trail and error rather spending some time getting the right knowledge. Again thanks for your explanation and really wished that I reach it earlier .
Fantastic video. Great information presented clearly. I appreciate the knowledge and effort you put into getting this info compiled and presented. Thank you so much.
Muy buen video gracias por enseñarnod quisiera hacstle una pregunta porque se smarra la transmision cuando see aprietan los tornillos gracias espero me lo pueda contestar
so, Sean, I guess you forgot to highlight Superior's DROP IN, NO-REAM, and NO~Stick design STL011 that came out 3 yrs ago, specifically to stop the sticking problem that builders were having with the "aftermarket" replacements. might have just wanted to touch on that, especially when many have had to be taken back apart after repair due to the replacement being stuck. just wanted to point that out. AS a rep for SIU I would think you would want to advise your "students" on Whats' working for you today and maybe why they are all sticking after the rebuild. to this date, not one of the TransLab Valves has stuck, just wanted to "update" you so you can feel confident in a "Superior" company and their innovative products. keep the videos and training coming. great!
Hello, I have a question. There is a humming sound in the Nissan X Trail 2016 diesel automatic transmission. Everyone says it is normal between 20/40 km/h. What is the solution? It does it even when you slow down.
Fantastic video, Thanks The flow control valve, have you had any stuck high, Ive the 2 pressure sensors showing high pressure at idle, could that be the flow control valve?
I haven't seen it. The flow control valve is kind of like a pressure relief valve, since the transmission still has a normal pressure regulator valve. I wonder if you are having issues with the line pressure reg valve or solenoid?
The outer bushing (the part the new valve rides in) requires a bit of force to push it in. But the valve that rides in the bushing should be nice and free. I've heard of shops that installed the Transgo valve have "buzzing" noise complaints. For that reason, some shops prefer the superior transmission products valve or they opt to ream and install a sonnax valve. Although, some shops still swear by the Tgo valve. I just thought I'd mention it.
When servicing my 2014 QX CVT, the last step, I'm supposed to get CVT to operating temperature and pull the check fill plug while motor is running, verify the level is good. Why does the motor have to run. Also oil should run out check fill plug but when stream gets slow, put plug back on transmission. I would like to understand more of what's going on at this step of the process.
Due to rusted cooling pipe from front intercooler to xtronic variator cooler tranny oil leaked a lot and xtronic variator started to slip. How many slips with low oil it can actually survive? Does electronics of this variator have some safety components due to partially lost fluid and inner pressure?
So my son has a 2009 Corolla and it makes a unique, distinct sound when it’s cold and goes away after a second. I’m replacing the vvti cam gear. Your thoughts?
What cvt oil would you recommend Castrol, Penzoil, OEM nissan. Which is the highest/best quality? Thank you in advance. And maybe do a future video. 🇺🇸
Great info sir! New subscriber question. On the cvt belt the oem has ridges like the edge of a quarter. I'm rebuilding a jfo15e (12 Nissan versa) the ridges where worm off the belt. The belt is smooth on the sides now not grooved or chewed up just not grooved. (Variator pulleys look great) Question #1 Can the old belt be reused? Question #2 I did buy a new aftermarket belt and it has no ridges at all just smooth. Should I use it or the old one? Just not sure what's best. Thanks For your time.
Thanks for the video. My transmission has broken recently. It has run 136000 km. I am a gentle driver. Almost never push the engine speed higher then 3. But changed oil only two times. On 30 and 90 km. Expected to change it on 150 km. As I can see it makes sense to change it every 30 km to prolong it's life?
I got jetco xtronic on my nissan and it survived 180 000km without single oil change. Until now due to rusted cooling pipe and leakage of the trans oil. Otherwise it would still work
Hi! Could a "whistling" noise that accompanies the rotation of the wheels when the vehicle starts to move or when it suddenly restarts be caused by the oil pump? Or perhaps a non-compliant oil level? Sorry for my English, I speak Portuguese and used Google translate.
Did u check the potentional leakage of trans-oil? Does your car have external intercooler for this fluid? Mostly pipes from this intercooler to the integrated cooler in the variator started to rust and fail due to extreme conditions in front of the car. But also due to high pressure of overheated trans oil which will start to leak somewhere and then its causing the slipping of the variator
@@Blameberg In my case, the transmission was replaced by Nissan under warranty, as the previous one made a very loud noise and had filings in the fluid. Shortly after the change this noise appeared, unfortunately the manufacturer says it is "normal", but I know the car and I know it is not normal. Maybe the fluid level could cause this?
I have a 06 nissan murano 3.5 fwd. the cvt re0f09a transmission went out. like to find what transmission rebuild kits people have used and had good luck with. also what other parts I should replace with the rebuild. part numbers would be great if you could get them. thanks
I have a question I have a nissan primera wp11 2.0 / 144 bj2002 with cvt I live in spain, and have this car for 3 years the oil had to be changed I didn't know if it was ever done, the car ran 170,000 I bought it with stand 110,000 Was going to do something strange, and 1 time he slipped {gear} because I also drive with a trailer, so replacement is done now. Have you fixed your problem? I nearly Got the same issue- and same car😳🤭😂 i Think it could be a solenoid- but really dont know yet how to test or replace it.. regards
I wish I could get the guys from a local shop to watch this video!! AH 13:00 the part I was going to get into.. You can't just bolt this up and go.. Dealing with Nissan is a Bitch and if they don't like where you got the CVT from they won't flash your software.. And that can Be costly.. I have been calling around.. And I found a way to get OEM Brand New CVT's fresh out the box but for $5500. And the problem with that is software and it won't have the improvements that he just made to it.. IDK what I am going to do.. And some of these guy's use way to much Gasket sealer and about a half in of it spurts out the sides inside and out went they bolting these back together, And the Valve body and passages get clogged from the Gasket sealer breaking off inside the trans.. I really don't know what I am going to do? I know I am not buying a new car... It truly is better to find someone like this guy who know's the different Rebuild kits too, and have them rebuild your CVT..

Wow, a little snarky but as a builder I do like Superior's products. Great video Sean.

One thing that I didn't see - what it takes to replace the bearings where the front left and right axles go into the casing (Carrier bearings??).

What are the signs of bad pump/ flow control valve? How does the car behave?
Usually the pressure is low, so you will end up slipping the belt. Then you Diagnostic Trouble Codes for gear ratio and/or secondary pressure.
Any info about cvt swap how to reprogram it? Can we take switch the computer from the old cvt to avoid it 🤔
Thank you
You’re best off taking the rom (part of trans internal harness) off the bad cvt and swapping it to the new cvt.
