This series on the GM 6 speed autos is the best thing to happen to TH-cam in years!

Please please please go over the 10R80/10L80 next. I'm trying to use one in a swap and you're probably the best source of information I've found on all this. This is absolute GOLD! I appreciate the heck out of all the work that went into this!

I have some Ford 10-speeds and I have three 3l diesel trucks with the 10speed. I don’t think hp talks with it, but maybe things have changed. I look into it.

@@siuautomotive I kinda doubt I'm that lucky 🤣. There's a company called US Shift who makes a 6R80 and is trying to make a 10R80 controller. From what I can tell they're not shifting the thing properly. It looks like their shifts take about 600 milliseconds from initial command. Way to short for them to have the pressure ramping that's used in the factory setup.

Well I have personally changed the PCS in my tehcm myself in a 6t40 2015 malibu 2.5l. You absolutely can if you snatch one from the junk yard or whatever

Definitely going to have to watch all of the series but currently need to get trans rebuilt or get a remain. Slipping bad 1st and 2nd. But have read that I need to reprogram the module if I replace it. Can I do that with hp tuners. Would guess I would need to download current file and write it to new module but want to make sure before I find out I can't. Thanks for the help.

Where can I purchase the gm technician manual for the 6l80? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Helm doesn't list it.

FYI, in some versions of HPT and depending on the TCM OS, you can log PCA Pressure for the TCC Desired Table. EFI Live also has a channel for the TCC Slip Error RPM to work out where you are in the TCC Apply Ramp Table.

@siuautomotive Between the changing of variables, after you do the reset in vcm scanner, how did you know the relearn adjustment procedure completed? TY

We monitored the shift times and once they were repeating, we figured it had adapted. Before we started each day, we warmed the trans up to 190 degrees to ensure it would adapt.
