  • Welcome to Stage Zero Garage's first video! In this video, I buy, prep and drive this 1979 Dodge D100 step-side 2200 miles from Washington to Wisconsin, in February.
    I bought this off the internet from Jamie Attwood from Dead Dodge Garage ( • Like A Li’l Red Expres... ) because I wanted a clean, solid 1979 step side that could serve as a running parts truck for my Lil Red Express.
    Why is it called the Not Little Red? Well, because it looks a lot like a Lil Red Express and isn't quite red. And since I now have two 1979 step sides, I have to differentiate them somehow.
    What is 'Stage 0'? Stage 0 to us means that all electrical and mechanical components of a car's engine, drivetrain and suspension are in reliable, working order. This truck epitomizes the process of finding a clean, running vehicle and doing all the required maintenance to make it reliable enough to drive across the country.
    This channel is just a way for us to document all the fun stuff we do with our cars. You won't see us pulling heaps out of a swamp, doing a lot of bodywork, or trying to get 1000 horsepower out of our engines. We're fine with slow if that's how they came because that's what we want to experience.

      Thank you! Figured this would be a good way to kick it off. Hopefully more good stuff coming from me and the boys.

    I wonder if you needed to block the grill a bit so that engine could get more temp ?

    • @stage0garage
      @stage0garage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. Stayed at proper temp the whole time.

      Dodgeconnection.com sometimes has NOS stuff come in. Otherwise for me it’s just waiting for something to show up at a yard, eBay or FB Marketplace

    I bought a 68 Ford F-100 in SC for $500.00 and drove it home to Wisconsin.

      For $500? That must’ve been a fun trip overthinking every noise it made.

      @Stage Zero Garage never made a bad sound. In fact I had no troubles at all. The 390 just purred along at 70 just fine. Never over heated. Made it back in about 13 hours.

    It's Spo - Can, Not Cane!

    Just fyi - it's pronounced "Spo-can". Pronunciation police here. Lol! Yeah, don't know why they put an "e" on the end. I think it's a native American thing.

      LOL! I heard myself say that and realized it probably had too much Wisconsin accent on it :). You should have heard me try to learn Puyallup!

      @@stage0garage - Ha-ha-ha!!!! Pu-al-up. It's an easy one. Of course, I've lived here all my life, so it's easy for me!
