@@keithjones9054 agreeable to some extent that Ford do sell better than Vauxhall but there’s more to it than just chip shortages. When it comes to the Fiesta & Focus, they are 2 of the least practical cars in their segment, a Skoda Fabia is more practical than both of them. Yes prioritising crossovers is the thing now since the Puma is based on the Fiesta and the Kuga being based on the Focus hence the fact cars like the Puma are more attractive and still decent enough value for money but even so SUVs are not even all that. Puma just looks like a Fiesta in shoe lifts.
My missus has a 2018 Fiesta Ecoboost Auto, and I agree the Fiesta is great to drive, a proper drivers car, and I agree it's small for over 6ft, I'm only 6.1 but I cannot get in if I'm wearing a coat and without it's a snug fit but much better once in, the width legroom for the driver isn't so great where your left knee gets a jabbing from the center console but otherwise the driving position is comfy, and if you're tall that center armrest is pointless. An annoying complaint that I hope they haven't continued in the latest cars is the mobile phone resting place being so small in the console, even a Galaxy S7 only just squeezes in there without any case on, and there's a symbol showing charging place but there isn't one as it's just a rubber mat. As for the Hybrid part I would steer clear, it's just a poor gimmick because Ford are being stubborn about making them full EV.
I know reviewers have to take what they're given sometimes but why do a driving comparison between a low output auto in the Corsa and put it up against a high output sport spec manual. If it was the other way around this review would read very differently!
@@RoobehTunes I don't see how it wasn't fair. The technology it has is better than the fiesta. The fiesta just has the quicker engine. It still is pretty fair. It's not like the 129hp ish version of the corsa would have made a difference in that.
I recently bought a 10 year old Fiesta and Iove it. For a cheap car it’s so much fun to drive, especially threading it though country b-roads with that wonderfully sharp steering. I do think the new models are beginning to look dated though - the Corsa looks much more fresh and modern here, even if it’ll never touch Ford for driving dynamics.
@@scbond Beggars can’t be choosers. I needed a cheap car and it’s fantastic for what it is. But in 2021 it does look dated and the newer models haven’t moved very far from the older design.
@@scbond The new Fiesta doesn’t look much different to the Mk7 which first went on sale in 2008. It isn’t any more practical than its predecessor and cars of this calibur like the Sandero & Clio (which hasn’t really changed since 2012) which are more comfortable to live with
The corsa design is good. But the puretech Peugeot engines with that crappy belt in oil... New fiestas now have chain driven camshafts. Also, had fun with my ST line against a Peugeot 208. Peugeot is great on bends, but my fiesta had more power and distanced itself from the Peugeot with the same engine these corsa use
Was going to get my son a fiesta for his first car but he wanted the Seat Ibiza 1 litre turbo. I borrow it when he lets me because it is one of the most fun cars I have ever driven. Would go for the Fiesta if it was only a choice between these two.
Im thinking the otherway. The corsa looks hastly made if you compare it to the new Vauxhall design that the Mokka and Astra have. If the corsa had the Visor front with the new info screens it really would be amazing. The Ford tho do feel a bit older 🙂
Fiesta wins every time. Great fun to drive. Looks good. The latest interior outstandingly smart and the instrument panels easy to use and understand. Well done Ford. Such a shame that you are ending the Fiesta line. If you made an electric version you would definitely be the market leader.
One thing worth noting about the Corsa is you get a hell of a lot especially for a car that can often be cheaper than a Fiesta and in some cases better equipped (especially some almost new used examples). Another thing not helping the Fiestas case is no Electric variant yet. Fiestas are still great cars but it's hard to justify cost. However the Fiesta is more fun to drive and looks sportier. Admititngly in a lot of cases extra equipment will often not be missed but it's hard to say no if it's included in a car at a lower cost; can't complain about parking sensors etc
I love how 100 bhp in a super mini is now barely acceptable. She’s obviously never driven a 90s Fiesta, which were around 60 bhp until the 1.25 Zetec engines were introduced and changed everything.
It's all that modern namby pamby safety equipment that means cars are heavier than they used to be :) And they tend to be bigger as well. I learned to drive (circa 1981) in my mum's mk1 Fiesta 1.1. Don't know the power output, it wasn't much (probably around 60 like you said), but it seemed to go pretty well. Even my girlfriend's 957cc Fiesta a few years later was fine on the motorway.
@@matth1j my wife bought a 1.25 Zetec 16v Fiesta new in 1997. The car weighed nothing with only two airbags but had 74 bhp. In comparison to my 1996 Escort 1.3 HCS it was like night and day in performance. Used to steal it from her as it was so much fun to drive.
Another great review/comparison. Think I would have to take the Fiesta but it's good to see Vauxhall in the game again with a competitive product. The ST versions has to be the bargain performance car of Britain. Slightly better looking than the Corsa too.
Hi ! Thanks for the review Rebecca ! Always a pleasure to have your thoughts (especially on car dynamics). :D Judging by your reactions, the Fiesta is very enjoyable to drive (without putting my licence in danger). I hope you'll make a video about the Fiesta ST soon. When I tried a Fiesta (ST-Line), I didn't like the 1.0 Ecoboost : I found it rough and it didn't seemed keen to rev past 5500rpm. However, the rest of the car is good : the ergonomics are spot on (driving position, seats, pedal and gear lever placement), visibility is good, materials are good, especially on the touch points (steering wheel, gearknob, handbrake), the Full LED headlights are excellent (bright with a very good range) and the chassis is great (great grip, playful within the speed limits, yet predictable and comfortable enough for me). I must try a Fiesta ST (The 1.5 Ecoboost felt good in a Focus, so in a Fiesta, it must be great). Keep doing what you're doing. P.S. : Thanks to the Cargurus channel, good work. :)
Had a new corsa as a courtesy car for a week, my opinion it has total sex appeal ,driving was an absolute pleasure, where as fiesta still pure boy racer, my thoughts anyway.
If I had to choose out of the three, then the Sandero without the Stepway. It manages to beat the Corsa and Fiesta for practicality in terms of boot space and rear seat space. It may not be as fun to drive as either of them and it may be a very basic small car but it also looks better than the other 2 from the outside.

I would go with the fiesta. All day every day. More fun to drive. And now with a much better interior compared to the old one.. its a no brainer for me. But than again. I am kinda biased to ford. I love my focus as well. And would even choose a focus st above an audi rs or Mercedes amg. In my opinion there just isn't a better company that does driving as good as Ford has done. Whether it's the fiesta or focus. Both are just ontop of the world in the fun factor. Regardless if they are fast or not. Although.. a fiesta st with 200pk is probably most people would ever need. Just like the focus st with 280pk. You don't need more than that. Heck even the diesel focus st with 190pk is perfect. 🤷♂️ so yes no brainer. Always will choose a Ford if I have the option to.
Fiesta easy win. Vauxhall’s German Opel cars overall have always been second but more third rate at best, perhaps the French will now do better with it than the Germans ever did.

I’m glad she gives her height at 5’4”, ‘cause the cars look huge next to her . . .

This girl is a bloody legend! Love you so much Rebecca!
Her work is outstanding
Corsa for me. It makes the Fiesta look like yesterday’s news imo
@@keithjones9054 nah.
@@keithjones9054 also speaks volumes when the fiesta hasn’t even made the top ten in uk sales charts for the last couple of years, meanwhile the corsa has been the country’s best seller.
@@keithjones9054 chip shortages 🤣🤣🤣🤣 is it ironic that the Puma is actually selling better than the Fiesta? Why is it that small crossovers are outselling their small hatchbacks on which they’re based?
@@keithjones9054 why are Peugeot 2008 and Vauxhall Crossland outselling the Fiesta since late 2020 Keith? Give us a better explanation?
5 foot 4 & a half of loveliness 👍, what cars!.
You are either one of two people in this world, Ford or Vauxhall and I am hardcore Ford! Will choose Ford any day of the week
I know reviewers have to take what they're given sometimes but why do a driving comparison between a low output auto in the Corsa and put it up against a high output sport spec manual. If it was the other way around this review would read very differently!
I highly doubt it. The fiesta will still be more fun to drive. More hp isn't always better.
@@Pand0rasAct0r_ I agree that the fiesta has a better chassis by popular opinion but the Corsa isn't given fair chance to compete.
@@RoobehTunes I don't see how it wasn't fair. The technology it has is better than the fiesta. The fiesta just has the quicker engine. It still is pretty fair. It's not like the 129hp ish version of the corsa would have made a difference in that.
Not too sure. The Fiesta would still be the better car if it had no engine.
A strange review. It's not like for like. The Ford has a sports tuned suspension and quicker engine with manual gearbox. This is ridiculous
Which engine is in your fiesta if you don't mind me asking?
You think the current Fiesta looks dated yet you just bought a 10-year old Fiesta which actually is more dated?! What a ridiculous thing to say.
@@scbond Beggars can’t be choosers. I needed a cheap car and it’s fantastic for what it is. But in 2021 it does look dated and the newer models haven’t moved very far from the older design.
@@sparko2012 It’s a1.4, which is a bit of an odd one to go for. Apparently the 1 litre eco-boost is the best engine for a non-ST Fiesta
Vauxhall Corsa have MT (manual transmission) model. Why don't use MT model compare with Ford Fiesta?
Does the Ford Fiesta have good sound insulation from external noises ?
Was going to get my son a fiesta for his first car but he wanted the Seat Ibiza 1 litre turbo. I borrow it when he lets me because it is one of the most fun cars I have ever driven. Would go for the Fiesta if it was only a choice between these two.
The Corsa looks way better. The Fiesta seriously needs a completely new model.
If you made an electric version you would definitely be the market leader.
my money went on the corsa
Corsa was always much better car.
i have got same fiesta and can,t fault it. lovely car.
It's all that modern namby pamby safety equipment that means cars are heavier than they used to be :)
And they tend to be bigger as well.
I had a 59 bhp Mk2.5 Fiat Punto as my first car. God was it struggling up hills so much.
Great insightful review - but no conclusions as to why one is selling above the other?
Hi Ford every time. Great video well done
I driven the Fiesta eco boost as hire car, & it is awesome car. I felt like I reborn as 17 year old, it werre that good
I like the corsa e so bought one 😁👍🏼

Another great review/comparison. Think I would have to take the Fiesta but it's good to see Vauxhall in the game again with a competitive product. The ST versions has to be the bargain performance car of Britain. Slightly better looking than the Corsa too.
Nope corsa looks a hundred times better
The corsa is far from betrer looking than the fieasta 🤣
@@markpattison9554 Maybe you're right. I do like all three designs. It would be a tough choice. Not a dog in the set.
Corsa looks way better
@@rosen0662 wtf
After watching I know which one I’d take home. It’s the one that would cost me the most in long run
Fiesta is fun and the electric assistance on acceleration is great. Who would have thought you could get that from a 1 litre engine?
The Corsa is a Peugeot in all but name! Still prefer my Corsa E.
I'd take a Vauxhall for reliability over a ford any day
Exactly
Looks wise fiesta everytime in my opinion, would need to drive them for final opinion
Thoughts? Scripted thoughts.
Opel seems like halfsize bigger car
Fiesta, looks much better and much more enjoyable drive.
Can’t believe I’m saying this but the corsa is a stunning little car far nicer than the fiesta
Had a new corsa as a courtesy car for a week, my opinion it has total sex appeal ,driving was an absolute pleasure, where as fiesta still pure boy racer, my thoughts anyway.
What guys would you buy and why ? Corsa/Dacia stepaway/ fiesta?
If I had to choose out of the three, then the Sandero without the Stepway.
It manages to beat the Corsa and Fiesta for practicality in terms of boot space and rear seat space. It may not be as fun to drive as either of them and it may be a very basic small car but it also looks better than the other 2 from the outside.
Thanks for the informative review. Was curious about the 155 mild hybrid!
its awesome mate ,feels like my old xr2 only more refined and economical.
Although she should have compared it with the 130 bhp from Peug ... sorry, Corsa I ment !
@@victormarian7889 It's the easiest thing in the world to say "She should have..." this "She could have" that. 'Hindsight' can be like a stab in the back sometimes. What's done is done - it's a review of a Fiesta Vs a Corsa and a pretty good effort at that
@@davidg2022 Yes, but it's like comparing a cabbage with Bruxells sprout, if you compare, you should at least try to get the closest models, so either manual, either both automatic, both the most powerfull, or mid - range, not as she did, and yes, she's cute, but she should be a little more than that !

It makes me sad that Ford no longer sells the Fiesta in the US because apparently all we want is boring crossovers. It also makes me sad that the Corsa is now a Peugeot. However, it makes me happy to see Rebecca is still lovely. 😀
Fiesta all the time. The new 2021/22 facelift model even better , review required on that , Rebecca please.
For me the facelifted version looks ugly and less desirable. The Mk2 & Mk3 Fiestas look so much better.

You always say the fiesta is best looking. Fun to drive. Etc.
No its not so that
Are you a ford saleswoman?
Reviews will always be subjective - as is YOUR opinion.
But it's true. It's like common knowledge in the car industry that the fiesta is the best car to drive in that segment. At least if you are after pure fun. If you are after something fast there are others. Although the fiesta st with 200hp is still great too.
Please tell me how bluetacking an iPad to the dashboard of a Fiesta ever passed quality control. It’s utterly horrendous 😂😂😂
Spot on!!😂😂 bluetacking.... it was completely build then 1 said, "hey we missing a screen, lets stick 1 somewhere there" 😂😂 Ford NO, thanks
@@DaluthandoDG 😂😂. Exactly. The first time I clapped eyes on one, I thought it was some sort of joke. But apparently not. Yet still people buy them over and over. It amazes me.

I love how Vauxhall completely copies a German Opel car and then calls it fully British lol
Not even a German car anymore, its a Peugeot 208 in disguise, the PSA groupe purchased Vauxhall/Opel
The Union Flag covers up all BS at the moment in the UK 🇬🇧🤪😂
Vauxhall haven’t copied a German car, they never have 😂😂😂. The last British designed Vauxhall was in the 1970’s, since then all Vauxhall’s have been rebadged Opels. Then since the takeover by PSA, they’ll be rebadged Peugeot’s.
I've got 130,000 miles out of my Fiesta with few big bills. Great little car.

It's close, when you break in the Vauxhall nova dose it also charge the battery? If yes it's a draw.
Nova!?!??

First time ever I'm actually considering buying a vauxhall corsa or Astra. Just had enough of being ripped off by the German manufacturers.

I like the design of the new Corsa. Definitely a great looking ride. But, the Fiesta is the one for me. I drive an old 03 Fiesta. It's always been a fun car.
This is a great video, very informative and accurate. (Fiesta for me lol) 😀👌
