Can't resist commenting and boring people to death with my car history! 1999 Zetec 1.25 with red seats. Best car I've ever owned. Absolute blast to drive, economical and bulletproof reliability. MK5 finnesse was basic and a bit boring but never had any issues! Lately MK7 Titanium for a week with the 1.6 Peugeot diesel. Was so impressed. Very refined and fun to drive. Love a good Fiesta. 👍
Note: the automatic (DCT 7 Speed) has the 124 BHP petrol (turbo) engine from June 2020; there was a fairly slow 99 BHP with 6 speed torque converter gearbox before that. My 2020 model has a 2 year service interval.
only thing that lets these down and i think will be the main killer for these are the £1500 cambelt changes, at 10 years old no one is going to be wanting to spend that much on an older car so i think these will be popular for about 10 years then completely die off.
It is absolutely obvious that Vicki Butler-Henderson should be the lead presenter on Top Gear. Get the car people back in there, not the game show hosts.
So, the boggo on 16inch wheels is decent fun and really compliant, and bouncy on 15s. The ST-Line on 17s is excellent fun and not as uncomfortable as you'd expect. Glad I upgraded. The diesel is so unrefined in urban areas (but rapid) so avoid. The 100hp is adequate, fun, willing and economical (I average 52mpg on Zetec and 49 in ST-LINE), but I wish I'd gone for the 140hp as the ST-Line chassis is better than 100hp. Build quality is errrrr well let's just say the budget went on the dynamics. If you see a roundabout as an opportunity for entertainment, the ST-LINE is superb.
Ford ruined the later fiesta. The 1.0 ecoboost engines are troublesome and mechanics hate working on them. These problems are well documented in the motoring press. Love older fiestas but not with the ecoboost engines.
Well worth buying a used mk8 Fiesta as you get all the equipment that has been omitted on the new facelift mk8.5 model due to Fords terrible shortages of semiconductors..........New mk8.5 no power fold/heated door mirrors, no lock/unlock internal door switch, no “one touch” widow opening across to whole range, along with much other equipment on the new model. 🤔
They say it's very reliable and it's the first engine to win the international engine of the year award so often, no other engine has ever won so often.
@@matthewsmith2787 Maybe on the first versions of the engine however most mk7 have been fine. Grandparents have had 2014 version with no issues for 7 years and 65k miles.
@@666DW mk8 fiestas, regarding the build date have either 1 or 2 years servicing. At least here in Portugal. Mine is the later, 2 years. But I'll do a yearly pre-service because I really loathe the idea to have oil in the engine for 2 years. Even more if is oil from the car break-in period.
@@SandStormPower My daughter has a 2021 Mk8 155ps MHEV ST Line X which has a service interval of 2 years or 18,000 miles. @@666DW i wouldn't be leaving it 18,000 on an ecoboost engine running 155bhp, as far as i'm aware and was told when i had my 7.5 remapped to similar power was to have oil and filter done every 6k or you run the risk of cambelt failure.
Oh dear the most unreliable engine ever developed is the ford ecoboost in any size 1.0 or 1.5 the vast majority are failing after only 3 yrs usually terminal hence the eye watering deprecation, that and a £1500.00 cam belt change cost. Still better than an ev though

Correct 😳. We have a pair, the 7spd DCT ST-Line X, which replaced our sluggish 6 spd Auto, and a ST3 which is a great little performer, with 40mpg.
The Fiesta is my favourite supermini 😃👍. The best to drive, the best looking and overall all round :). Plus, I do see a lot of Fiesta's on the road :)
I cant believe how they can make these videos and not mention the wet belt issue on the ecoboost 1.0
agreed. they must get kick backs from ford

I've had 6 Fiesta's, 2x 1100 Mk1
4 Fiesta Mk2...3 1600 DL and 1 Fiesta XR2!
Can you please make a buying guide about the Mazda 2, From 2014 till now? Thank you 👍

Hope the Mk8 is better on fuel, the older 1.25 engines guzzle petrol even when driving economically

It's just an ad...
Exactly. No mention whatsoever of the problems with the Ecoboost 1 litre engines.
Production of the Ford Fiesta is coming to an end in June 2023
Sounds like a paid ad for Ford. They don’t have a great reputation where I come from and many Japanese companies are more popular and I think better.
Hasn’t helped me in the slightest..
